But on topic, I was probably one of the few people hyped about this game, then they added pandora, I was worried this was going to be x factor 2.0, then it sucked, so I was hyped again. Then gems were added, and now I’m not gonna get this game. Shits stupid.

Do not misunderstand me i was a fan up till T5DR but do not pretend the their are any less scrubs then there are for Capcom 2d fighters because Tekken scrubs are just as prolific and just as bad.

I don’t think people took Tekken very seriously till after the third one.
1 and 2 were very linear; back when there wasn’t universal sidesteps and high-end juggles.

Tekken’s formula has slid downhill just as fast as 2012 maybe faster as walled enviroment’s especially as a long time tekken fan were a big part of ruining it for me.

Street Fighter didn’t become the pop culture juggernaut is it today solely because of a hardcore audience, either. For every person mashing on T2 Lee’s d444 or furiously mashing the kick buttons with T3 Hwoarang/Eddy there was someone mashing out Chun’s legs, Blanka’s electricity, or Honda’s hundred hand slap (j.hk into cr.hk being the ideal combo of choice).
Casuals who aren’t into fighting games can take one glance at SF and be amazed with what they see because the series is known for it’s over-the-top signature attacks and “flashy” aethestics. Some people think Tekken is boring simply because no one is throwing plasma from their hands. Of course they don’t understand what’s going on in either game, but a lot of them grew up on Capcom’s series and are drawn to it more because of stuff like flashing backgrounds when someone finishes with a super/ultra combo. Little kids in particular eat that type of stuff up.
Let’s say a kid actually takes the time to look though the movelists, and understands how to do a qcf motion.
Joe Blow does qcf+2 with Paul in any Tekken game = Ok…It’s just a regular punch with him screaming loud and a camera zoom-in…

It’s true that a kid could get more out of mashing in a 3D game than a 2D game because there’s a huge difference in move options but you have to realize how abundant ‘flowchart Kens’ actually are and why so many of them exist in the first place.

It was Paul’s godfist d,df,f+2 that taught me how to do hadokens in Street Fighter.
I was more impressed with Tekken at the time cause It was in 3D and it had alot of cool moves like Law’s Crescent Kick and Heihachi/Kazuya’s lunging uppercut that knocked the shit out of you. When I discovered the one hit KO moves, I was going nuts.

The “Space/Mecha Zangief” stage is pretty good, but I love the “Light Show/Trunk” song the best, which I think the Skatepark stage recycled…
