Anything past “Superhero” was a really lackluster Brian McKnight, IMO. I think “I Remember You” was probably his best album, followed by “Anytime”.
You know what im REALLY excited for? Letoya Luckett. Shes so underrated, and always the best member in Destinys Child to me.

But Ive been listening to Prince’s first 6 albums to be honest. I cant get enough of Dirty Mind and Controversy.

Sorry but I simply can’t take a 16 page thread like this seriously that doesn’t mention Mint Condition. Their first album is just about all New Jack Swing and thus dated, but other than that they always put out great shit.
I’m also forever flummoxed as to how Tony! Toni! Tone! releases a phenomenal album (House of Music) then just disperses.
Speaking of which Raphael Saadiq’s (Tony! Toni! Tone! lead) last two albums are very much off the beaten path. If you didn’t know what you were listening to you’d swear some of the tracks were made in the 60’s and 70’s. This is a good thing.
I’ll also throw out a couple of names that I’m sure most of you haven’t heard of.
N’Dea Davenport. She’s the female lead in the Brand New Heavies. She released one CD in 98 and that was it. It’s pretty fantastic though. It’s pretty easy to find too.
Adriana Evans. She was Neo Soul before Neo Soul was popular. Who knows what she’s doing now, but in '97 she released an album that like 10 people knew about.
I could go on. I’ve probably got like 50 Gigs of just this type of shit, but fuck you all for not mentioning Mint Condition.

There are thousands and thousands of R&B artists gimme a break. You can only talk about so much in 16 pages. Not to mention a lot of the talk in this topic has been about recent releases.

Kelis just gave birth to her son. And she’s coming out with a new album this year. A few months ago, 2 tracks (snippets of them anyway) leaked and are getting RAVE reviews.
The first one is called No Security (produced by The Crookers) and the second one is Feel Alive (produced by Diplo). Feel Alive is straight dubstep. And No Security just sounds bonkers. Noice. :tup:
