Spade and Quick Disconnect is not same.
Spade is a shape, so is Quick Disconnect.
I had made the post originally as a brief “Pro and Con Summary” of the stick. The author (kaworu) of that article changed the tile and various parts of the “review”
Not sure why you have a stick up your arse about this, I am fully aware about cabs having start buttons on the main control area (I own a Sega Naomi 2P12 cab), but it is still not ideal. Having the start button on the top or as a smaller button recessed like the guide button would be better.
Now, you’re clearly not going to change my opinion and I have no interest in changing yours so I’m pretty sure we’re done here.
jdm714, I don;t doubt your correctness, it’s just what my local supplier calls them: http://www.maplin.co.uk/miniature-female-spade-connector10-pack-34145
I found Kreee’s review really good actually, it highlighted points which I wasn’t aware of for i.e the flex and also regarding the start button I doubt it affect me but I’m glad he’s pointed the issue out.
Kreeeee, your supplier has a lot of weird names.
But it cannot be a UK thing.
got mine today
no flex issue btw, i tried to push hard but nothing.
i must get used to vievlix layout since unlike my old dreamcast modded stick, the lever is closer to the buttons so i have to rearrange my mind
no issues with start button placement but, still, they could have placed them on top of the panel
if there are some things that i don’t like about the q4raf here’s the list:
1- screw cover stickers, they should have used those plastic caps that are used with furniture
2- human readable intructions, since it’s a worldwide shipping item they could have at least used english (ok ok i get we’re good at electronics and there’s internet so it’s possible to mash until there’s some answer)
3- longer cord, with big ass hdtvs most couches are at least 3-4 mt far from the console
4- safe disconnect cord, once your mom start vacuuming your room there’s an high chance that your console or your stick will hit the ground
5- the knockoff start won’t fit with the rest of the equipment: very bad choice
haven’t tested for the echoing issue, i’ll wait until i’ll need to recharge my wireless headset
turbo mode isn’t working for 360 right?
i’ve tried the mode button too for x360, it seem to do nothing only emulates dpad?can someone confirm this?
edit
in addition to above list:
6- no support for x360 analog sticks, (i’ve tried with my pc both x360 controller drivers and in ps3/pc mode that is recognized as qanba controller)
i think it’s still a great item probably superior to other current products (mostly due to the 3mod) but still has some issues
i hope that qanba improves his future products upon this kind of feedback
first post. Just had to thank qanba for making an awesome stick!
is it normal for the qanba q4 to change controller port numbers when u disconnect the controller and then plug it up again? for example I will be player 1 I will disconnect the cord and plug it back in and I will be player 2
Why dont madcatz makes a 4in1 fighstick?
Let it work for
Nintendo Wii U
Xbox 360
Playstation 3
Pc/computer
I bought 2 fightsticks already because the first fightstick I bought was a Playstation 3 fightstick. A tournament edition from MADCATZ. Then I went to my local tournament and they used Xbox 360 and I was like damn. No ps3? Damn again now I have to buy a new fightstick.
So I ended up buying Qanba 3in1 and now whatever console they use I will be able to play no matter what
Would you give madcatz the license to let them make the controller working for both ps3 and xbox360 if you represnet MS or Sony?
He means that the pcb’s used in things like the Datel Arcade Pro / Paewang Revolution and Qanba 4 are currently a legal black hole and were manufactured without Microsoft consent.
Mad Catz currently enjoy a decent business relationship with MS and I’m guessing they want to keep it that way. I don’t know how they stand with Sony as technically they’ve only had one Fightstick product officially licensed by them - the PS3 Chun Li TE.
Not at all. MS started legal action against Datel a while back. Possibly even before the company was formed.
uh…ok. then it would be best to get your hands on a multi-console stick as long as they are still available.
Microsoft use the same usb as the pc. And there are alot of controllers made for pc/computer without microsoft license on pc. Actually only the windows belongs belongs to microsoft. The pc/computer itself consist of different parts and manufactures
But back to topic. Madcatz got tournament edition controllers for both Microsoft and sony. If microsoft and sony are smart they let madcatz make a multi controller for both ps3/xbox 360.
Microsoft dont dare to sue chinese producers. If microsoft did this there would be a world war 3 with
China/North korea VS America/south korea
China got support from the russian army and the turkish army too. America would get support from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and france. But the russian army got more soldiers than Norway, Sweden, Denmark together.
But back to topic. Yes madcatz do got license to Ps3/xbox 360 but they cant make their controllers works on both console. In the end everyone that suffers is the consumers. This is the fighting stick I got from madcatz http://www.amazon.com/Street-Fighter-FightStick-Tournament-Playstation-3/dp/B001M25AY6/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1311695279&sr=8-12
I remember when I preordered that stick it said Limited edition. We will only make a few hundreds of this fightstick. Yeah right limited pfff. It is still in sale after 2 years But it only works on ps3
to bad
The PS3 controllers use the very same USB port just like the one on the PC as well. That has nothing to do with the actual PCB inside the controller. 360 has special encryption designed to block out not microsoft approved peripherals from being recognized. Currently to dual mod you will have to
- Break the encryption and therefore making it unsuitable for any large scale business that’s trying to portray itself as legitimate
or - Fool it by putting in two pcbs, one for 360 one for PS3 (which I believe is how Q4 works. could be wrong).
No console manufacturer will be stupid enough to commission a product that can work perfectly for their competitor out of box unless it’s an industrial standard. It’s a business not a charity. As for the world war thing, LOL and that is all.
Yeah I always overdo things when the chinese are involved
What you say is true! I wish they could just get along and cooperate.
I own a qanba q3 empire arcadia edition(ps3/pc) and I need help regarding the problem i’m currently facing. Sometimes, the punch buttons doesnt respond at all (the upper 3 buttons) and when 1 punch button doesnt work, the other 2 buttons too. This normally lasts frm a few seconds to minutes and is really frustrating when u r in the middle of a game :xeye: . So far, there r no problems with the kick buttons(lower 3 buttons). Hopefully someone understands my problem and can help me solve it.
EDIT : when the 3 punch buttons doesnt work the start button doesnt work too. I didnt try any other buttons yet but i’m sure tat those 4 buttons stop responding simultaneously once in a while
Im not a expert regarding fightsticks. But it sounds like you have to buy new buttons and change it out with the old one.
beylb:
can you please open the case and check if the cable connections are all ok?
LLX from QanBa will surely provide you with any help you need if this doesn’t work.
btw., i actually DON’T think that the buttons are broken.
best,
paxos
Without using a multimeter there could be anything wrong with it. Could be something incredibly simple like a loose plug on the motherboard, or it could be something serious like a damaged pcb.
I’d advise getting a replacement from whoever you purchased it from if you feel uncomfortable about opening it up & testing.
EDIT: paxos beat me to it.
thx gahrling for the follow up anyhow :).
