hmmm a new version of the Q4RAF thats only ps3/pc compatible? Is the first version Q4RAF still in production? Im waiting for a second batch to arrive in europe and it needs to be xbox compatible its confusing to see this new S3 version :wasted:

Thank you both dragonfall and thoum for your responses. I don’t mind if turbo doesn’t work on the 360. Lets face it any serious player will never use turbo unless for fun factor. As for the start button not being sanwa i don’t mind either…It’s a start button and you barely ever use it. But yeah i am convinced i will pick one up from VGNY or focus attack when it becomes available. I only have but one more question. How modding friendly is it? nothing serious but you know something like swapping the buttons, because i want some different colors than white…and how hard is it to switch the art? i am not too crazy about changing the art but its a good option to have for future.
Those are nice alternative to the stock caps. Is it possible to purchase in bulk as with the clear plexis? My supplier has to purchase the plexis on the next shipment, since the first shipment went without them. Perhaps we can get those as well.
Exactly the same as Hori HRAP VX/V3 in that regard. Unscrew bottom panel reveals insides. Quick disconnects. Lots of room (more than TE, I think). Very mod friendly, I would think.
I’m thinking of buying a Qanba Empire Arcadia stick, is that still worth it with the Q4 out?
I’m not so sure of the notable differences. The Q4 does look nicer but no supplier has brought that in here yet.
I found someone selling the Empire Arcadia stick for RM390 though (about US$130) so I thought that might be a good buy. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I’m waiting for any vendor (w/a competitive price) to get the Q3 EMP in stock as well. Main differences would be:
- Wood (EMP) vs plastic (Q4) case but both still has a metal panel
- Q4 has lights around the buttons of some sort (LED’s?!?) & comes w/a wireless remote
- Q4’s half the weight at ~6-pounds
- Q4 3in1 is compatible with 360

jmanDMC, do you know if the Q3 EMP has been discontinued? I haven’t seen it re-stocked on Play-Asia’s site for a few months now.
I’m not sure. I heard that stock of those joysticks never left China, which is why PlayAsia was able to get them easily enough. A while back, Empire Arcadia asked if I was interested in carrying the Q3 because they were planning to have an interested party recover them from leftover Qanba stock. That fell through - it’s likely that Qanba is no longer manufacturing them. You can ask llx8000 here as well.

I have a sweet spot for the Q2 and Q3 series myself simply because they have a wood case. I would image that the EMP/Empire Arcadia edition would in a sense be superior to the PS3 wireless Q3 model since it’s wired and I would believe that the PCB is dual mod friendly rather than the wireless PCB(it’s common ground but doesn’t work with a 360 fightpad).

I’ve never had a wooden Sanwa case (albeit the panel’s metal) so gotta add that to my collection if I can somehow get a hold of one. I could care less about a stick being wireless since I’ve got a 6-ft USB extension cable.

Q4 looks pretty sweet. I almost wish I waited a bit longer before buying a Q3 because of the wireless thing. Oh well, I’ll get a Q4 once I save up enough and add to my collection :P.
So I’ve gotten my hands on the Qanba Empire Arcadia stick.
This is probably the best out of the bext stick I’ve used yet. It feels incredibly solid, the buttons are very responsive, and man does it feel very good. Easy to carry around too.
Only one minor niggle for it for me. For instance, the Start/Select/Home buttons are on the right side. This isn’t normally a “problem,” but I would’ve preferred it with a more TE setup (at the back of the stick).
Besides that, it’s amazing! So glad I shelled out for it. Quite a big upgrade from my Sanwa modded HRAP3.

So i got rid of my SFIV SE ( full sanwa ) and i’m considering going for the Q4.How is it compared to the TE or any other stick that falls in approx. the same budget?
Well, I got mine from someone who impulse-purchased TWO Qanba sticks here. So I got it for cheap. Maybe try going for someone wanting to sell it off or upgrade?*
