The Official Qanba Fightstick Thread (New products Coming)

Thanks for testing guys, now I know something is not right with my stick.

I send a mail to the topic starter llx8000 (since he seems to be the tech support of qanba)

If you live in Japan then you should be able to navigate Kanji decently enough. Qanba has an official taobao page with pretty cheap deals. Make sure you read the Kanji close enough to tell if its Sanwa, Seimitsu, or Qanba imitation buttons/stick because their page offers much more custom configurations and console options than are represented through their partnered distributors. Look at the photos carefully as well cuz some are in 6 button rather than 8 button configurations.

The shipping from China should be cheaper than the shipping from the US. HK may be cheaper, I’m not sure. You may also find it in Japan locally, but I don’t know what Japanese electronics markets are like in terms of available brands. Honestly, though, since you live in JP I would just get a nice case from somewhere and build my own. Hit up Akihabara for some buttons and a stick, order a pcb online, badabing badaboom. However if you insist on supporting a wonderful up and coming company then by all means please do!!!

So I just recieved a Qanba Q4raf in the mail today. For some reason the stick seems to be lacking lubrication or may be defective? I’m not quite sure what it is yet. Every once in a while when i move it around it will make a slight squeak and have a bit of drag during movement. Has anyone else had this issue? If so any suggestions? I’m wondering if it may have just been sitting on the shelf too long or something.

often joysticks ship a little too "dry"
This is a very easy fix, just add some lubricant

here a quick video how

Did it and seemed to work, now another question, on the qanba q4’s I’m thinking about replacing the leds for the controller port on it, would anyone have any idea what type of leds are on the qanba or where I can find some replacement red ones?

Hey guy, i need help =/. I got a Q4 template ready to go and get printed, but my problem is that i dont know the size for the paper i should use. i tried using 8.5 x 11, but my god that was not even remotely close to the size of the Q4. So please guy’s, can anyone tell me the specs of the size of paper i should use, as well as what type of paper you recommend? (such as photo, cardstock, glossy,or just good old fashion regular printing paper, which i’ve heard is the best option). Much appreciated guys !

Hey, i ordered a Qanba Q1. After i opened it up i plugged it in directly to my PC. I started playing and i noticed if i bump the top panel of it it will make the stick disconnect for a split second and come back on. I’m wondering what could be causing this problem, and should I return it?

How can you order a replacement cord compartment door for a Qanba Q4RAF? Can someone please PM me with an answer?

Hello, kinda new here. Looking to buy a fightstick to use with SF, MK and other general arcade style games.
I was going to order the Razer Atrox because it’s available locally but not supporting PS3 is a bit of a deal breaker for me, even though I’ll mainly be using it on PC, PS3 is my other go-to console.
So I have to order from overseas (shipping to New Zealand) and the Qanba Q4 from eightarc looks like a really solid option. PC/PS3/X360 combatible is great, I like the carry handle and the cable compartment. Along with the good reviews it just seems like a real good all-rounder.
Are there really any cons to this particular stick? And what is the difference between the Q4 and the Fusion, why is the Fusion more expensive?
Most likely will just get the Q4 but wanted to get a little opinion on the differences between the models. Do the Qanba sticks last as long as the other brands? I’ve got a pay a decent chunk in shipping so would rather get good bang for my buck though the pricing seems very good anyway. Cheers.

Edit: I just did a bit more research and found that the Fusion just has the handle removed and the start button moved up to the top. Are these the only differences? Is there any other stick that’s dual modded like this but with a detachable cable and mayb even the start button on the back? Along with the cable compartment?

Okay done a decent amount of research and it’s interesting there’s so few brands making arcade sticks, guess it’s not a big market? Qanba seems to be the only ones making the dual system sticks… I really wish the Fusion ditched the turbo button, kept the mode button, kept the carry handle and made the cable detachable. But it seems to be the best stick in terms of what I want, soo going for it.

Anyone know if the Q4 will fit in the Mad Catz Carrier bag? Since its on sale cause of EVO right now looking into getting it.

Prototype from Evo. Word is that this will release next year.

Has storage for extra buttons, a 35mm balltop, and an extra PCB (people seemed to think it was good for sticking your cellphone in). The finish was a little crappy but it’s just a prototype I guess. They didn’t have it plugged in but it has two light bars across the top. I assume that it either has lights on hit like the FE but I’m not sure. The top panel is two pieces so you can hot swap the joystick and buttons separately a la @FreedomGundam‌’s modular ABS stick (yep they bit the fuck out of it). Didn’t get a chance to talk to those guys. They also had vibrating seat cushions that pairs with the stick so you feel a little rumble in the jungle. All in all I wasn’t too impressed.

Looks really ugly.

Agreed. You have to pay me to take away that “thing”.
The whole stick, controller, thing looks cheap. That red plastic looks vacuum formed, and the chrome pieces have more fingerprint smuges than a dozen Sony PSPs.

The dual top plates idea is interesting, should keep the price and shipping lower for ordering an alternate button layout. But it would look and probably feel nicer without the split.

The design concept is confusing. I’m half-expecting QSound to come out of those top grilles.

Nope, nope, and more nope.

Call me boring, but I like simple, functional sticks. I’m not spending an extra dime on all these shiny bells, whistles, and wub wub dubstep speakers and LEDs all over the place. Just make me a nice, sturdy, case, make the base broad, well-balanced, and somewhat heavy, and put quality parts in it. Don’t care about the rest.

Qanba Q3’s are still my favourite sticks. All-wood case design, piano black painted finish, perfect weight and size too…not too wide, not too short.

I threw a PS360+ in it

…and added a RJ45 jack for retro consoles, and custom panel plate (made out of black acrylic):

I’ve got three of these sticks, 2 for fighters, 1 for shmups, and I’m never buying another one again.

Yellow and blue buttons from the bottom…all white on top??? How? What? Huh?

Heh, I did say I had 3 of them.

The top image is my Blanka stick, I’ll have to take a new picture of it since the buttons and joystick is no longer yellow and blue.
The second image is the other fighting stick w/ white buttons and stock CPO.

My third is a 4-button stick (in neo-geo layout), that I haven’t put art up on it yet. I’ll post more pictures when I get that one finished as well.

Oh ok. When did you say you had 3?? LoL.

Right under the second picture
