I’m seriously loving this stick more everyday I use it. I honestly like the “look” of my TE more than the Q2 but functionality-wise it’s no contest between the two.
Far as the Q1 goes, I honestly have no thoughts about it. All major manufacturer sticks today come with the same buttons and stick so when buying one it all comes down to the shape/features/gimmicks that appeal to you. Like the Q2 for example. I would have never bought it except it had a straight button layout on it. It basically sold itself the second I saw the first image of one. If not for that I’d still be using my TE like I always have (or eventually ordering a replacement plate for it). The Q1 clamp gimmick just doesn’t appeal to or seem very useful to me personally. But then again someone may do like I did with the Q2, see it and shout OMG that’s exactly what I was looking for!
That’s very true - the dual-mod was lovely, but if I hadn’t liked the shape (i.e. the sloped front) so much i’d never have bought a Q4-RAF.
In fact, my other stick is an SE with Sanwa parts and 6 strips of wheel balancing weights to make it heavier. I much preferred the ‘feel’ of the SE to the TE - it probably ended up being more expensive to get an SE and upgrade it, but I was much happier with the results*…
*WAY too much work to even think about changing the art, though…
Ok, quick question. I bought a Qanba Q4-Raf a while back, and I don’t seem to recall some kind of adapter for the sound output. I recently bought some xbox headphones and even replaced an updated chip that Xian sent me, but i’ve never been able to test it.
Is there any place I can find this adapter?? radio shack maybe??
can anyone point me to the right direction if i mean to buy it online? thanks a bunch!
Okay quick warning and VERY large “con” of the Qanba Q2 standard stick…
I can’t put my seimitsu screw-ins in this stick without major filing of the metal top plate inside the holes… For some reason the metal plate underneath extends slightly inside the circumference of the plastic top plate with small slots cut out for snap-in tabs. However this makes the hole NOT wide enough to fit a screw-in button.
I was very disappointed in this as I was looking forward to swapping the stocks for the seims I just bought last month. Guess I’ll have to keep em’ in my TE and order seim snap-ins for this one.
Can I please have some advice? I just bought the Qanba Q4 arcade stick for playing my Japanese shmups on 360 but Im finding the actual stick to be quite inaccurate. Its not even as precise as the 360 controller. I was wondering what I’m doing wrong, or should I be looking at replacing the stick itself with another one like the LS-56 or the LS-40? Im new to all of this so any help would be an enormous help please. Do these other sticks just clip/screw in where the Q4’s stick would be removed?
The JLF isn’t known for its shmup prowess. you’re better off with the seimitsu sticks. I hear the LS-58 is very good for both shmups and Fighters, so might be worth checking out. and I think (THINK) it can be mounted in the Qanba.
I have the Q4RAF crystal blue stick. I’m about to put some custom artwork on it and my question is do I need to buy a plexi or is there a way to remove Qanba’s design on the stock plexi?
Ok I’ll give the nail polish remover a shot. I’ll be careful with it. If it gets scratched I’ll order the plexi. I kinda just want it done now and don’t want to wait another week
Sure this has been brought up before in this thread but I don’t have the time to filter through 58 pages of this thread:
What’s the difference between the Qanba Q4 sticks and the Fusion sticks? The pricing varies quite a bit amongst the different cover art / stick & button colors of the two
This statement of all statements probably generates the least amount of help. If you dont have the time to at least search for your answer (use google and add shoryuken at the end) pretty sure we dont have to give up our time to give you an answer.
I have a question: do OBSN-30RG buttons fit in the Qanba Q4 stick? I’m thinking of trying them out but I’m not sure about the fit. Just knowing if they fit in the case if fine, but it’d be even better if I could know whether the wiring will be a problem. Based on looking at the innards of my stick, there’s not much extra length to the wires and I’m not sure if the longer micro switches will be a problem.
Is anyone having trouble using their qanba’s on the Xbox360 since the newest update? My stick works and syncs fine on the PS3, but doesn’t connect/sync with the 360 for some reason. I haven’t used the stick for some time since buying another arcade stick. Anyone have some suggestions on what might be the culprit? Thanks.
Thanks. I’m going to open it up and see if anything is loose or looks out of the ordinary.
UPDATE: Opened it up and everything seems fine. No loose wires or anything wrong that I noticed with it. Sucks too, since I only used it about 3 times. Anyone else have suggestions?
UPDATE 2: connected the qanba to player 2 USB port on the xbox and the stick works fine. Tried it again on player one USB port and nothing. Tried it on my brothers xbox and it worked fine on both USB ports. I guess my xbox is starting to take a dump.
