The Official Qanba Fightstick Thread (New products Coming)

Ok yeah it did take well over a month but I was not in a rush.

He didn’t reply when I sent my details but I did get the letters and screw stickers for free.

Also I had written off getting these things, so was a nice surprise!

Given that standard delivery from Hong Kong probably takes at least 3-4 weeks, I was well happy to get these in the post at all.

Hang on in there I’m sure your door compartment will turn up, just don’t hold your breath.

Again thank you llx800!

Okay cool. That’s what I figured. Thanks for the response.

My Q2 is arriving tomorrow

Hey did anybody notice the new Qanba Q1 on Qanba’s website? Looks neat.

I just had a look now and it seems that the are now made with all sanwa parts because the old version were made with imitation sanwa buttons and stick.

Hello,
I want to do myself a good stick compatible with PS3 PC and XBOX360 so I bought PCB Qanba from http://www.fightstickasia.com/EN/HKD/product/Multi-Platform-PS3-XBOX-360-PCusb-59.html. Maybe you could help me…

1- where is ’start’?

2- what is the function ’mode’?

3- why do we have 2 times ’select’?

I really need help. Thanks a lot.

you really are building it from scratch, seems like hard work. I got a cheap combat king fightstick and replaced the crappy stock buttons with some seimitsu concave buttons but decided to leave the stick alone because for some unexplainable reason it seems to have a half decent stick that is really responsive.

Ok i got it. Fightstickasia reply back with picture and it explain a lot! ( i just inverse a cable ) :))

I tried search but couldn’t find anything useful. If I wanted to mod my Q4RAF to have the custom push button LED lights what should I get/do to achieve that? I was looking at the Remora RGB Controller any one have any experience with this?

Anyone have a solution on repairing a broken door where the USB cable goes? I was putting the cable away and the door fell off. I have the Q4RAF Ice Blue Edition and am very disappointed to say the least. I’ve had several TE sticks and haven’t had this problem before. Looks as though the small plastic tab that sticks out got stuck in the hole of the door and broke off. I’m going to try and find a solution, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

UPDATE: I was able to fix my broken door on my Qanba with a few things. I’m happy that I was able to fix the issue, but i’m not too happy about the end result.

I first went to Home Depot and purchased a 1/8" x 36" rod and cut to desired length.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/78488277@N05/8069374356/

Since the rod is thicker than the litte plastic piece that would hold the door, I drilled the holes on the door a bit bigger to accomodate for the size of the rod.

I then grabbed a small nail heated the sucker up and punctured a hole where the plastic nub was at. Once the plastic melted and made a small hole, I used the drill to make the hole bigger to be able to fit the rod that I cut. On one of the sides, I didn’t pay attention so when I used the hot nail, the hole came out a bit crooked, no biggie, but i’m anal and was upset. It’s hard to see from the picture, but the metal rod piece sticks out from the other side just a bit.

I did this to both sides and the outcome came out good with the door now working and closing. Since I made the hole crooked on one side, the rod goes in crooked causing the door to be a bit slightly off. The door closes, but with some pressure.

The outcome.

From this picture you can see how the plastic turned a bit white when I used punctured it with the hot nail. I’m happy that able to close the door now, but pissed that the door broke off to begin with. I’ve had several madcatz sticks and never had this issue before. Hopefully the plastic doesn’t break off over time.

I’m still a noob and can’t get the pictures to come out.

For about $130.00 USD it seems like a solid stick. I just hope they fixed the two main issues the Q4 had (the USB cable compartment door and length of USB cable itself) in this model. Too bad this one isn’t compatible with the 360 unlike the Q4… :frowning:

I’m going to wait on official confirmation of specs from llx8000 on this one before I make any further decisions.

Will there ever be a left handed stick like the q2 pro thats a 3 in 1 with a curved button layout like on your other sticks. Just wonder what happened in begining when the Q2pro was shown in pics stateing it was a 3 in 1 to now where its only one or the other

The USB door on my Q4 has recently broken. It’s the actual clip on the top of the door that keeps the door shut which has snapped off. Is there any way I can get hold of another door to replace the one I have? I love my Q4 and have recommended Qanba to many people. It seems a shame such a high market, innovative, quality stick has such a flimsy door, which after searching many arcade part retailers, doesn’t seem to be available for purchase. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. One last thing, the bottom-middle screw sticker has also come off. I’m guessing it’s from the heat and movement of my hand. It’s not vital but if it’s possible to get those too it would be cool, but the door is the main thing I would like to replace. Thanks.

Hi,

In the process of finishing off my white Q4 (I’ve used strips of model car balancing weights to make the stick heavier, fitted the six button conversion kit, and replaced the snap-in buttons with screw-in ones to make the plexi more secure. Now I just need to sort the art out. Which leads me on to my question:

The six button kit came with new screw-covering stickers. They’re black, however, and pretty much everything else on the stick is (or will be) white. Are there white versions - or something that can be used as a substitute - available (in the UK) anywhere? Or even the silver ones it came with, as they’d be better than the plain black ones?

Thanks.

Arcade shock supplied me with a Q4 Ice red SE edition…they were kind enough to throw in a spare ball…kudos to arcade shock

I used to have a problem with the Headphone jack considering it didn’t work with a basic headset for the 360. However I just purchased a Turtle Beach XLa Headset, and it works great! So, no worries, great product Qanba!

Posted this in the eightarc thread, Figured I’d post it in here as well.

It arrived today YAY!!! Loving the Q2 straight button layout.

As you can see from the comparison pic linked below the Q2 is slightly wider than the TE, and while it stated a heavier weight than the TE as well in the specs, I felt no “noticeable” difference. The Q2 feels just as “solid” as the TE as well.

My only minor gripes with the stick are no way to replace the top panel/artwork, and you gotta be really careful when screwing the bottom plate back in after opening it up as they seem to be able to strip VERY easily. Another “con” to this stick is the TE gives you almost 5ft more cord on the usb having a 13’ vs the Q2’s 8.2’.

But these are minor gripes indeed.

Things I like better about the Q2 vs my TE:

  1. Straight button layout
  2. It CAME with button plugs.
  3. Spacious layout inside. I always have to be careful not to squash the button leads when closing up my TE. No worries about that here whatsoever.
  4. Nothing is connected to the piece you open. I always hated having to balance/juggle the top plate of the TE while changing buttons/balltops/stick springs, etc unless you broke the adhesive seal on the stick itself and unplugged it (which I’d rather not do if I have to)
  5. It has a handle. Yes for me this is a BIG plus.
  6. No issues replacing the first (Square) button with a screw-in as the joystick mount plate is quite far from it.

I also apologize for the craptastic lighting on these… my camera sucks.

Nice review! First time I’m seeing a Q2 buyer, TBH. And in the 3rd pic you posted, you could clearly see the build difference between the TE and Q2. Usually, almost all Qanba sticks have a much more professional look to them. MadCatz and Hori are only known for being giants in the arcade stick manufacturing world. Other than that, they don’t really come up with quality products at reasonable prices like Qanba does.

BTW, what do you think of the upcoming Q1?

Although it looks amazing, I’m just upset it isn’t a 3-in-1 stick like the Q4. :frowning:
