Hey llx8000, I was modding my Q4RAF and I’ve damaged the USB cable a bit, it works but I’d like to get a replacement anyway. Can I buy a spare one from you guys?
hi! i would like to get another person who has a custom art Qanba Q4RAF to print mine and ship it too me, i will pay print cost+post cost+ $20 for your time(thats in AU), through paypal. i have a 562 100% rep ebay account so ive done this alot, i will pay first of course XD.
also what does MODE button do, swap stick from LS <> ^v to dpad <>^v ? also what are the turbo settings, 1st is with light on 2nd is with light flashing and the 3rd is back to OFF? cause like i cant read the manual its all chinese lol
mode button switches to LS. When not lit its D-Pad, when lit up its LS
yea i just tested it was playing KINGDOMS OF AMALUR with a Qanba Q4RAF with MODE on Lol… (Xbox 360 Slider setting, not PS3/PC, IMO Xbox 360 settings is better for windows 7 than the PS3/PC if u allready have the Xbox controller drivers installed, cause i use a wired 360 controller for some games, makes the qanba exactly the same as that, its brilliant :P)
Is it safe to assume that the headset that comes with the qanba q4raf doesn’t work for ps3?
dunno but i can test, and all xbox 360 headsets fit and work fine in it, like the black one that comes with xbox 360 slims, ill test the mic for u right now
EDIT: Big FAT NO, the headset doesnt work, 360 only. u can use any bluetooth headset with the ps3 anyways
Hey guys, can anyone point me into the right direction of ordering a white handle? I’m going to be purchasing a white qanba Q4 RAF and I know they don’t come with a handle so I’d like to put one on.
I was finally able to add the Seimitsu parts and artwork over the course of last week and here is the end result:
The only other changes I will make is a white bordered 24mm button but still using the purple plunger and maybe spray paint the dust washer white.
Modding the Q4RAF is very convenient in regards to how easy it is to mount a Seimitsu joystick along with the artwork but the only gripe I have isn’t with the stick as much as the plexiglass I purchased to add different artwork. It was 2-3mm too long on the right side and the “S” bend on top didn’t fit well either. I sanded down those sides and got it to fit but noticed another problem: the button holes were also 1-2mm off to the right. Thankfully all of the buttons were able to fit in OK although some were tighter fits than others
i would like to know where you got the transparent 24mm button from,
ty ordered one XD
I’m not sure where he ordered his but you can get 24mm transparent buttons from FocusAttack. That’s where I recently just ordered 6 transparent 30mm smoke buttons and 3 transparent 24mm yellow buttons for my new stick project.
EDIT: Just realized I was beat to the link by a few hours.
What do Seimitsu buttons feel like compared to Sanwa buttons. I’ve always used Sanwa buttons and for this next stick project I’m working on I ordered all Seimitsu but don’t know what to really expect. Did you prefer the feel over the Sanwa buttons? The surface area of Seimitsu buttons seem to be much smaller as well.
Hello , I am a owner of an old Qanba Q3 .
Recently , I have bought a PS3 , and as such , needed a new arcade stick (my Q3 was for a XBOX360/PC ) .
I have noticed that the Q4 can be used on all 3 platform , and would the performance difference between a Q3 and Q4 be marginal or huge ?
In your unbiased (hopefully) opinion , do you think that I should get the Q4 ? Can it be labelled as an “Upgrade” ? Or should I stay on the Xbox360 with the reliable Q3 ?
edit : Reading the previous comments of this thread … would anyone recommend against buying the black Q4 rather than the Red/Blue ones ?
I started out using Sanwa OBSF’s and then went to the Seimitsu clears just to try it out. The Seimitsu’s have a slightly muddled press compared the the Sanwa’s crisp presses. I enjoyed the Semitsu clears for a little while, but ended up going back to Sanwa. Also I noticed sometimes I would get double inputs with a single press on my Seimitsu X button. One of my friends experienced the same issue on one of his sticks with Seimitsu clears as well.
Not sure what you mean by “performance difference.” From my understand you’ll be buying the option to play on PS3 as well as what you have right now. If you’re gonna play games on your PS3 then go for it.
The main issue I’ve seen with the Ice Red/Blue ones is squeaking from the clear Sanwa buttons. I read on another thread that even when the buttons are used on another stick they still squeak, but some people believe the drilled button holes in the Qanba Ice Red/Blue are a little too small which cause resistance on the button plunger. Regardless you may run into the squeaky button issue. I preordered the Ice Red from focusattack.com and I should have my stick after the upcoming weekend.
I got my six button Ice Blue stick last week and I just want to say this is one of the best sticks I’ve ever used. I love everything about it, the weight is perfect, the felt bottom makes it so it will not move around on your lap and it feels great to be using a six button stick. I really don’t know why more stick makers don’t make a six button option.

Here. The first page of the official “New Arcade Stick Art Thread” has all of the available art templates. Just look for the Qanba Q4 template and download it.
Does anybody (llx800) know what stick the new Q4 Seimitsu SE going to Arcade Shock have? If it has a LS-58/56 I hear they are great sticks for shmups.
Arcade sticks make it easier to do small movements, however make it worse for shmups due to the amount of time it takes to initiate a movement, especially from 1 side to another. all the top players like Toxik Helg0r use the 360’s analog stick. so i’d recommend sticking to that
Edit: i have all arcade shmups and all cave retail region free, and also bullet soul. only 1 i dont have is Eschatos
