To my understanding all of the newer sticks that have the headphone jack are using the new revision of the pcb. which is a single board, compared to the old one with the SunGa daughter board.
I’ll be able to confirm that tomorrow with pictures, when my stick gets delivered. I’ll be taking pictures of the pcb, as it’s one of the main reasons I picked up the stick.
I’d still like to get my hands on one of the SunGa boards, to poke my nose around.
Could the board version have effected the recent lag test you carried out?
Well, the replacement PCB I was sent still has the daughterboard, but the replacement headphone jack they sent me is a 2.5mm. As far as I could tell, my replacement PCB is exactly the same as the old one, but with fewer signs of age.
On a related note, I did install the new PCB today, and had no issues during a 2 hour practice session. Hope it holds up.
Hmm, could it be that the newer boards have different connectors on them and wouldn’t be a suitable drop in replacement for your stick?
Which version of the Q4 do you have, out of curiosity? (i.e. Black, White, Transparent Blue)
I have the Black Q4. And considering they sent me all the wire harnesses, cables with QDs, a new mic jack, and another LED + soft button board, I doubt that to be the reason =P.
I bought a Q4RAF Ice Blue stick from arcade shock over the new year
This one http://www.arcadeshock.com/items/qanba-professional-joysticks/qanba-q4-raf-xbox360-ps3-pc-3-in1-joystick-ice-blue-q4-3in1iceblue-detail.htm
I assumed it would have a handle like the other Q4RAFs, but no. I heard that people in this thread were having luck getting them in this thread. Who do I need to talk to about this?
Does anyone know where I can grab a 24mm start button that is clear blue or clear white like the main 30mm buttons?
For some reason mine came with an ugly purple one, not the white one in the promo pics.
That said, I am extremely satisfied with the stick, especially the non slip felt on the bottom.
Did they also send a replacement USB cord?
Yep… didn’t use it though. (Should I have?) They literally sent me everything but the case, stick, and buttons.
I’d recommend it. Obviously I dont know your stick or setup, Im just saying that cord quality is often the cause of intermittant connection (‘disconnect’/‘pausing’) problems.
Good to know, I’m sure you’ve worked with a lot more sticks than me. On that note, the problem only ever occurs on PS3 - played a few long sets on my friend’s xbox with no issues. Does that rule out the cord being the problem?
Nah, it doesn’t rule out the cord. The PS3 side could be more sensitive to noise on the cord than the 360 piece.
Hi Xianglong,
I haven’t receive any response to my email regarding the mic rewiring.
I hope to receive one soon.
Thanks.
Hi, I just bought a Qanba Q4 3in1 and has been using it for a few weeks. Just yesterday when i was playing, my stick began to give me problems, I can’t exactly pin-point the fault so I’m posting it here to see if it can be rectified.
The stick is the one giving me problems, diagonal directions (BU,DB,UF,DF) doesn’t seem to work properly, sometimes it just doesn’t work at all, at times my character will just go crouch stand crouch stand in a spastic motion if i hold DB or DF.
Sorry for the lousy description but does anyone know the problem? I really like this stick and I want to continue using it.
I wouldn’t bother Cleaning them, I took them apart and cleaned the button and the inside of the plexi the sound dissapeared but as soon as I decided to clean it a few days later with the cloth that’s included the noise returned
I think the problem may be with the plexi size and not the buttons or a combination of the two.

llx8000, can you tell us about the PCB revisions?
Are you still making and using the older board with the SunGa daughterboard?
Are you still making and using the new Qanba one board design?
why don’t you think Qanba is the first used double PCB?
our spirit is creative,we don’t like imitate.
we know others like imitate us.
I can tell you we are the first 3in1 in China.
new pcb we have used from 2.5mm headphone jack, and we have stopped 3.5mm headphone Jack now(old PCB stopped now)
I meant no offense by my question. I simply wanted to know if the older style pcb was still being made and used. Thank you for answering.
