Could be a driver error.

Try doing a “Restore File System” under the Recovery Menu.

Restoring the file system can start the discs spinning again? Will it delete my files?

Fixed it for you, since obviously there are plenty of folks who feel differently. I can go on “I hated FFVI” tirades all day, but it’s just my opinion and not anyone else’s and certainly doesn’t mean the game sucks.

It’s a shame you didn’t ask a couple of weeks ago, you might have had a few takers. :stuck_out_tongue:

RE: Xenogears, I actually really enjoyed it, much more than Xenosaga. I never realized that it got nearly as much hate as it does, especially here on SRK. I thought it was extremely enjoyable, and at the time surprisingly challenging for a JRPG.

If we’re on the topic of PS1 RPGs, Legend of Dragoon motherfuckers. I need to replay through it again after I go through my mountain of games. Still have RoF to finish, FFXIII, RE5 gold edition, and plenty more.

Freaking sony man! Because their crap breaks, I gotta find a way to shell out 179 PLUS tax?! I swear to God I am so close to being finished with the PS3…

Says the person who spent about 2 weeks if not more hating on FFXIII and telling everyone to play Resonance of Fate instead. Right.

The deal Capcom had with Marvel was to release only one game. That’s why they went with MVC2, the most popular. They would have to renegotiate with Marvel for all those games and it’s not as easy it sounds with Activision, Sega and others having pieces of the Marvel video game pie.

As for SF3 Third Strike, the game like all CPS3 games (SF3 series, JoJo games, Warzard) is HUGE. Sony can handle it. In fact it allows for almost anything to be DL so long as it can fit on a CD-Rom (IE lots of space). 360 on the other hand places limitations on DL games. It’s not that the 360 can’t handle it, but they have self imposed size restrictions. 360 had to lift those restrictions for both MVC2 and SF2 HD (for SF2 they almost didn’t), but 3S is much bigger than those too.

What Capcom does for one they do for the other. I imagine this is one of the hurdles.

Capcom’s been mum as to why there’s no SF3S. Sven said he could write a book on the subject but he has to stay mum for now or he’d get in trouble.

Oh and I don’t mean this as a slam to 360 or anything, I am sure they have their reasons for doing what they do and they are probably good reasons. I actually could care less what people do with their own personal money and which system they choose to buy. Just saying it is what it is.

The size restrictions don’t exist anymore period. HDR was just the first game to go past it. There are multitudes of games bigger in size than that now. Shadow Complex is nearly a gig, so is Trials, Portal: Still Alive is 3 or 4 gigs I think, as well as others I’m forgetting about.

Thanks. Good to know 360 lifted it. I’m sure there are still reasons Capcom’s holding back on 3S, as Sven mentioned but couldn’t get into.

Did you try Restore File System?

And no, it doesn’t wipe your hard drive.

Just beat Yakuza 3. Bring on Yakuza 4. That ending was pretty tight.

while capcom twiddles their thumbs and decide what to do, ggpo has been a worthy alternative.

Kenzan palys like Yakuza 1 & 2 right? Even if the gameplay is ‘outdated’ I’d still wanna play it. Heck if possible bundle Kenzan with Y1 & 2 and release it to the PS3 as a collection. I’d pay 50/60 bucks for that.

Says the guy who selectively read and missed the post where I said I was joking around.

You’re taking it too seriously. Chill out.

What are the opinions of Infamous? since it’s like 30, I was considering picking it up

Well problem is that Kenzan reminds me too much of the Onimusha series. Don’t get me wrong, Kenzan is a good game. Sadly it’s not something I can play with titles consistently coming out. I need to prioritize rofl. But sure, if your into Kenzan it’s a game to buy. I want Yakuza 4 asap and hope it comes to our shores within this year. I highly doubt that though, and I would hate the idea of Kenzan translation delaying Yakuza 4’s release here in the west. Sega is retarded enough to blame Kenzan translation on Yakuza 4’s late release. :bluu:

Yeah it was, some high production value on the cinematics in this game.

Trying it now. If it works, you just saved me an ass ton of money…and no it did not work the discs still aren’t being read.

Me thinks its the new firmware…

I bit the bullet and just restored the entire thing, cause Sony is gonna do it themselves anyway.

Other users are reporting that firmware 3.21 is bricking their blu ray drives. I don’t know how many of them are just saying it to say or how many are genuine, but it seems like the removal of the other OS feature is bricking it.

Does anyone know if Super Street Fighter 4 will have a mandatory install this time (or at least a warning about long load times if you don’t)?

I’m not looking forward to wave 2 of constant 30 second load times for online matches with random people because Capcom decided to bury such a beneficial feature in the menus.

I’d like to know this, too.

The 360 version at PAX seemed to have a terrible slowdown. Looks like Capcom nerfed the 360’s load time for balance.
