New SSX has me kind of sad but there’s still hope. And Uncharted 3 couldn’t have my any more pumped. Add doughnut Sully to multiplayer.

Not sure what you mean by “hook up”. There are some places where I can get it fixed, but it would cost upwards of $200, and I could buy a new slim for about $250 with a point discount from my favorite electronics store.
I am leaning towards getting my fattie fixed, aside from the loss of BC, I don’t really want to lose my save data, and I also like the 4 USB slots.

My girlfriend and I bought the pack with 2 turntables and a mic. and we love the game, very fun and the soundtrack is good too, I haven’t checked what kind of tracks they released via dlc yet though.
I sucked so bad tonight at U2. My game froze on that one game at the Train Wreck stage and I was like ‘fuck it.’

Backup, and backup often.
If you had a backup on a USB device, you could restore to a different PS3, and get back everything, even copy protected files and saves.
EDIT: If you could somehow get it working long enough to do a backup…
Back up utility can work on a different PS3, but most copy protected save data will not transfer over. The Transfer Utility is how you get your save data onto a different PS3.
I lost hours of save data due to my 40gig getting a YLOD. Now I back up once or twice a month.
I heard you can dl save data from the internet using your ps3’s browser, and use it as if it were your own. True?

Only if the save data is unprotected. I lost my save data for Valkyria Chronicles, downloaded a save data that had all missions open and went right back into where I left off. I hate having to replay RPGs due to save data loss.
I really wish Soul Calibur 4 save data was unprotected. All I want to do is make my characters, not play some stupid parameter based fights for items.
