I don’t remember the series having terrible voice acting in the Genesis days. Maybe if the dialogue in the old games was really bad, then yeah it would be the equivalent of a B horror film. I don’t remember much, but what I do remember makes the old games look much scarier, darker and much more serious than this cell-shaded reboot.
Well FFXIII sucks, so that makes sense. And Lightning is the worst main character in FF history. But of course, not to be overshadowed by Hope, the worst FF character period. Hopefully Versus XIII lives up to its potential.

Well it was the last peice of junk I had bought that I hated. I know pretty well what kinds of games I do and dont like so when I buy something there tends to be something about it I know I’m gonna like so it’s not often that I don’t know pretty much what I am getting into. FF was just trust in a brand that let me down hard this time.
Good thing she’s not the main character and the story could have gone on just as well without her worthless ass.

Voice acting seems fine to me.
Define ‘bad dialog’; watching some Spaltterhouse 2 videos on YT, any form of ‘dialog’ were just short sentences. From what I played, the dialog was fine, but overall I didn’t care for it.
It’s also a bit strange to say the old games were serious and this isn’t…especially when there was this-

new splatterhouse just looks like some lame 90s relic. splatterhouse was never about heavy metal. rick has a beard now? and those jeans shorts? jesus.
I’m wondering as well. I don’t especially like controlling little girls instead of ships, but I’ll bite the bullet if it’s a fun game.

Pretty good, got it’s unique elements. One thing I don’t like is that your character is pretty huge (in terms of shoot-em-up normal scale) but a normal size hit box, I still can’t adjust to it.
Quite a few bullet hell schmups are like that.
ya it was weird for me at first too. the way i got over it is i started paying attention to friction and purposefully starting frictioning shit all over the place, even timing my friction breaks. after adding that to my repertoire i completely forgot about the size.

I want to put one PS3 game on my xmas list, but the games I’m actually interested in are old and cheaper by now (Bayonetta, Oblivion). Im thinking about Splatterhouse, but that seems like a game that will be 20 bucks in like two months. I guess I’m also considering Castlevania or Vanquish…even though I’m not sure I will like either. Is there a great jrpg or srpg on PS3 yet?
