Thanks y’all!
I thoroughly enjoy this game. I think its art direction and music is great. It also shows monitor crispness better than my other games…which is why I picked it.

An actual CPS2 cab would show off the crispness ^_~, Im sorry i didn’t enjoy the game AI Was too retarded it was so easy it literally i just quit said fuck this. It’s a nice cab no doubt.
shu when you having me over
PS. Send me all those sites again. I’m finally out of debt and ready to do some ordering.
I agree with Nitewalker a blast of a game. River City, Double Dragon and parody all the way. Up next some super dodgeball action for DLC.
Damn, if I’m ever up in BC, I’m knocking on your door! Scott Pilgrim on a cab!
For majin and anyone else interested in where I got my replacements.
-Marquee and CP overlay at MCS Arcade
-Coin entry, yen sticker at giz10p
-Sticks, buttons, CP at Lizardlick
What kind of monitor you have in that bad boy, and what did u use to hook up the 360 with?
It’s the original Nanao tri-sync monitor… A Toshiba tube. I dropped the xbox’s display output and directly connected it to the monitor via VGA. Connected the sound using female-female RCA adapters. Nothing complicated.
i wish i had a blast city, looks great man!
I just read your post on the arcade stick thread. You don’t need to replace the monitor if it looks like it’s acting weird, and DO NOT REPLACE THE CHASSIS WITH A WEI-YA!!! I can’t stress that enough lol. There are a few guides on arcadeotaku.com on how to dismantle the chassis from the tube. As soon as you do that ship that chassis to someone that’s an expert to repair it. As soon as it’s done slap it back on and it’ll be brand spanking new like from factory. The thing about Wei-ya’s is they have horrible geometry for 15k games. So if you were to play something like arcade 3s or ST, the chassis can’t make the image fit properly on the screen. Plus when it comes to color you can’t beat nanao chassis’s.
My astro came with some serious burn-in. Luckily I found another 29 inch monitor out of a Sega Sports Fishing 2 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey the other day. I picked it up on Sunday and am having issues with the chassis. Red isn’t working at all and the geometry can’t be adjusted. Now what I found very odd about the monitor was that the chassis is a Toshiba chassis and not a nanao. So I’m going to see if my local guy can recap my old monitor’s chassis, fix any bad solder joints, and slap it on the new tube. If all goes well I’ll have two awesome Astro’s =).
I really like how you setup your Blast Cities and hope that one day you do go ahead and buy real arcade hardware to slap it on there. Good luck bro
how much would it cost someone to do a cap kit?
I don’t know but if you need one done go on klov.com and post a Need repair quote in the trading outlet. From what I’ve seen on websites the actual parts list for a cap kit is like 15 bucks. Some websites sell you the complete kit of caps you need for your monitor. Neimandisplays.com repairs chassis and they’re based out of Canada so you might be able to shoot them an email to see what they’re going rate is.
Thanks man! Definitely my first option now.
heres a great find. it started its life as the cheesy shooter, confidential mission game. i little bit of drilling, removal of stickers, wiring it up as a jamma cab, and it turned out to be a real easy and cheap project.

@mikeidge - Thats sick man… Is there supposed to be a panel on the CP? It looks just like a Astro layout. I was just wondering as a local arcade has a few of these with panel’s on them. I’ve always liked these cabs…
the panel is the same size as an astro and was blank originally. i actually took the CP off my astro cab and marked out where to drill the holes by using it as a template. i was going to paint the cab white but the red kinda grew on me. the only issue is the monitor is VGA only, and i had to get a converter. i dont think it looks right so i ordered a chassis that i will replace to make it a CGA monitor. the game originally looked like this…

i got the cab pretty cheap without the game, and minus the light guns.
That would have been sweet for a Point Blank conversion!
Still working on my vewlix clone, i suck in sanding & painting haha
Hey guys, just looked through these cabs and some of them are crazy good!
Heres a picture of one ive finished building. It took roughly 2-3 weeks to make and came to just under £500

And heres some of it under construction:
Nice job. Do you have a build log? I love reading those. There’s two things I would have done 2 things differently; a bigger monitor (I know they can get pricey) and 6 button layouts. Looks nice though. Plans for side art?
Is there a reason why you have spot lights on your cab? I would think that it would reduce the picture quality of the monitor?
