@NiteWalker - The artwork across the top of the control panel was custom made by myself and included a sprite from a member of black rock studios design team which he was gracious enough to submit.
The side art is also going to be a piece by him so im just waiting on him to get back to me, at the moment though his work is looking sweet.
Id have liked the monitor to be bigger like but you hit the nail on the head with pricing, this one was the cheapest i could get hold of for the minimum size i would reduce to.
I have an image of my wiring techniques but im definately not uploading it as anyone who has eyes can see that i am quite possibly the worst electrician ever.
and @rcadio - The lights are aimed down towards the control panel and away from the screen, but are deep enough inside so that they do not glare and distract the player.
(I put alot of thought into this as i went to BnQ to buy things! Haha
Thanks for the feedback though guys!
About to start playing some Blazblue on it in a minute!
The monitor is facing upwards at an angle so i didnt know how much light would be shone onto the control panel itself.
It also makes the whole thing look alot nicer as a unit when the rooms dark as the artwork on the top dims the light behind it.
The metal bars are handles to easily remove the screen infront of the monitor so that i can use it as my pc monitor or access it if necessary. It turns out i didnt really care about taking the screen out but when i was designing it, i thought that was a pretty solid idea.
Actually, I had a school assignment to make a arcade cabinet in 3D rendering and hopefully it was alright to take some sources from here to work on it.
I started working on my model, which was this one I found from here -
(Props, eric. Even though you said it wasnāt finished.) However I donāt really have a good back picture of the setup. I can work with other types of cabinets and just incorporate it into the current 3D cabinet model Iām working on. I just need to see how a back really looks so I can make it look realistic.
Anyone willing to help by posting some cool back pictures of some arcade cabinets?
Added some Sideart to the Dynamo. Nitewalker Hooked me up with these 24" Capcom Stickers. They are Excellent. I donāt really care for the Original Sideart that came with this setupā¦
I also put a newer 20" RCA TV into this Cab. My old 20" Started to go Purple (Having a buddy degauss it so I can TATE it for some Shmups) This TV is a 20" Tru Flat (With built in DVD Player that will never be used LOL). Iām in the process of making a new bezel so you canāt see the Frame and suchā¦ iāll post more pictures of it when itās done.
Hey Clangers, I really like that cab but Iām wondering if you really intend to play all your games in widescreen like that? Thereās just something about aspect ratios thatās bothersome when you donāt run them correctly.
I posted this in the āRecent and Good Findā Thread. These are my best cabs I have right now. I Love them!
I hate to take away from the Arcade Scene but I just had to have these. Scored 2 Korean Kabs. Look just like Japs but they are Korean. They have SC2 in them, still a great game, but will change them later later on down the road. Scrored them both for $200 total. Making my total arcade count to 18. Thank you.
Jonny419: Yeah, they are linked. I am lucky nobody jumped on this. The Mall where I got them has 2 Mahvel cabs next to it and would complain that these games would take the stools away from them. I guess they owe me a Thank you. LOL.
VolTech: I would alwayās post in 8wayrun. āPasadena, I am the Houston Sceneā. I guess Iāll change it to āI am the Pasadena Arcade Sceneā. It does have a nice touch to it. = )
I got ahold of a kit to restore it to itās former glory. Came with the control panel overlay, joystick overlay, and nice metallic CAPCOM sticker for the bottom of the CP. Also have IL comps and new buttons for it as well!
