The Official Post your Arcade Cabinet Thread!

compact strips with velcro. If I ever move, just undo the velcro…

@Kaneda - Good job with that game room. Looks like a nice place to chill and get some games in.

Got a link of those compact strips?

I am Jelly over that Tron machine and Transformers collection

@Kaneda Very nice setup you got there but honestly I’m really jelly of that carpet. Looks real pro.

Added some glass on the CP and got the buttons fully lit up, working on getting them to flash while being held now. Also had a few pals over yesterday and one of them is Zangief. Anybody have trouble/solutions with securing your cab from flying when your big, burly bros come over?

Some of the Capcom big blue q sound cabinets we own

Oooooh… Big Blues, Midways and Dynamo Showcases! Very nice!

When I think of American cabs I think of the showcab, and those are the two games I think about. Especially in those two games. How old does this style go back? I remember playing samurai shodown on one of these, or is there a older cab that looked similar?

I would love to restore a cab and keep my eyes open for good deals. If I got a showcab I’d def modify the control panel with hap parts.

The first time i played on a showcase cab was Primal Rage i believe sometime mid 90s. I’ve seen a variety of showcase cabs & i’ve own 2 of them. One for fighting & one for Point Blank2. These are awesome but they take up too much space.

Thanks!

They have a serial sticker in the back with 1998, but ive had these since 2007? one was a broken area 51 and the other a blitz. Converted both to the way they look

I know atari makes their own showcase cab in a 33" monitor and the dynamo with the 39" monitor. Both had the option of black or white color as well.

yup, true on the size but as a kid ive always wanted one because i would always play them at the arcade.

Big blue, imo, best compromise between elbow room and space used by cabinet itself. Love to see american cabs! Good shit!

No hate at all for American cabs. They are fantastic to play on, they just take up too much space. Especially if you have them at home. All of my candies are at home, while my American cabs are at my arcade shop.

I have 5 candies at the house and about 5 or 6 American cabs at the shop. LOVE all of them!

I love the authentic cabs but has anyone tried out any of the prefab ones out there?

Recroom masters has a few, being honest, I have been debating getting one of the sit downs cabs from them and throwing in controls. Anyways, thoughts on those?

Price doesn’t look horrible, never heard anything about the quality, maybe someone who isn’t a cab scrub can tell you more friend

I’d rather get a Kraylix but the price point of the Sit Down Xtensionisn’t bad.

Thirded, the price isn’t bad. I may get a tabletop.

mmm…I rather get the Kraylix…at least on the Kraylix you can have the controls flushed and secured on the cabinet itself…

with that recroom it looks like you have to have fight sticks just sitting on top of wood…looks tacky imo

I rather pay the extra money for one, ive seen one in person and they are very nice.

I would just mount the controls in the control panel area myself because I agree sticks on top of the panel does look tacky.

Just finished up my Blast City. This one won’t be leaving anytime soon! Vert Cab dedicated 360 for Shmups. Loving this thing so far! Sanwa 31k monitor, needs a cap kit, but should look pretty damn swell when it’s done. Still working on the innards a bit, as I’m going to build a better console management etc… Cool thing is, I can swap this over to play Naomi stuff in a few minutes.

Had a local printer handle the marquee and inserts. Also have a ProGear board on the way!
