I think you should take it one step at a time, because most of the equipment is modular so you can add and remove stuff as you please. Firstly, get the viletim adapter, they are a great solution if you dont like soldering capacitors or sync strippers that kind of thing. Then get a scart cable for the ps1/2/3…they are all the same, but get one that has thick cabling. Make sure you set your ps3 to output RGB after you hooked it up, if ever you are lost, hold down the power button from powering up, that way it will force the console to 480i and you will get picture (and sound) through the scart cable. 99% of the scart cables on the market will be euro scart, so you dont have to worry about jpn-21/RGB configuration. Find a pair of dualshock1 pcbs to hack up because they are cheap, reliable and easily obtainable, plus will work with any adapters out there in the market so in essence, a universal pcb. Otherwise you can be a bit spendy and get a pcb solution from toodles, because his pcbs are simple and brilliant. Any controller pcb solutions will be rigged directly to the scart jamma adapter for most buttons, any extra buttons must either be rigged directly to the buttons. In fact, if you hack a pair of dualshock3 pads, you can leave the ps3 outside of the cabinet and run the games from outside the cabinet…
At this point, you should get a clear picture on the screen and controllers ready for gameplay. Be aware that the texts on some games maybe hard to read beause you are running the games in standard definition (i.e. KOFXIII & Soul Calibur V) but in most part, most people will be satisfied with the results. Plus everything is internalised if you use the wireless ds3 option.
You could spend more money on the video side of things, but at the end of the day, I have a funny feeling you want to play contempory hi-res games, so this option will do the job and does it well.
i may be buying a US style 3S cab this week. board just serviced by capcom japan over the summer, fresh battery. i’m not a fan of the us cab at all but 3S isn’t exactly the most common game around. especially not in perfect shape within an hour of my location.
so possibly ill be posting in here again. probably. i think. lot of cash, but i think it’s worth it.
You should have told me you needed a dolly, i would let you borrow mine…As for the Jamma to Console, just buy mine or wait im not sure if i want to sell it nevermind haha
OMG, Mother Russia looks so empty now…No more candy cabs. Just the Kraylix cab, SF pinball, showcase, & my new Playchoice 10! Might bring back the Gauntlet…
Picked up my Blast City today courtesy of Zenblaster. I think something got bumped driving it back because no sound on the right speaker at the moment was working when I picked it up. I’m sure it’s an easy fix. Checked on the test menu and ST is set at stereo in the menu settings. As you can see I’m raising my kids right hahaha.
Looks absolutely minty So you got 2 girls too? Got my older 4 y.o girl to (wo)man chun li in st, set it to unlimited life and let her hammer away. Pretty sure the sound issue is minor.
Jesse had a dolly (but couldn’t find it until today), so I didn’t think I’d need to borrow yours. If you’re willing to sell the scart to jamma board let me know before I email viletim or test my luck with LL.
Next Mother Russia is going to be weird with all that space.
A few little scratches and dings here and there but, that builds character. Everything looks sooooo crisp! Lucked out and found ST on here for $130 and Zero 2 for $75. Bought Vampire Savior for $150 on eBay and picked up Final Fight. Decent collection of essential games to start out with. Gotta replace the batteries tomorrow when they get here on everything. I actually have 3 girls. I’m outnumbered!
So i only have 1 cab left to put in my gameroom & its a big showcase cab. I was able to put all my other cabs in there, man its tiring, especially doing it alone.
Here’s helpful hint, when designing a gameroom, dont buy any more arcades…My original design no longer works with the addition of my 2 new cabs
Yeah that’s what im doing right now, I ended up selling Astro City cab…I think someone is going to buy my Neo-geo & Gauntlet soon. Only one left is my Point Blank2 cab…
Definitely roomier without the showcase cab. Good luck with the sales, I try to limit my quota to 4 cabinets max: 2 (one SD and the other HD video) to do vertical and 2 to do horizontal games, dont have room for racers and pinballs
Its still in the garage, probably going to stay there…But thanks dude, i think i might just keep the showcase cab in the garage that way i can put a Super Mario Pinball next to the Daytonas whenever i get one!
