The Official Post your Arcade Cabinet Thread!

Came like that, guy I bought it off had fatal fury or something in it.

Gotcha. I was just thinking you would have to be a pretty hardcore Neo-Geo guy to plug a six button panel.

LOL @ asian wife, n u being black, rite?

Better plugged than having to drill/punch extra holes I say

low resolution arcade goodness just like what they use to make back in the good old days

Is that a modded xbox you have hooked?

Mere words cannot convey my jealousy.

No…well, not yet. Its an emachine running the show at 640x480 60Hz in the picture.

My hacked xbox requires a vga transcoder be able to interface with the uVC…awaiting for it to arrive at the moment. You can directly plug the xbox to the scart to jamma adapter, it works but its not pretty with bouncy scanlines. Got the xbox to emulate killer instinct 1 and 2 as well as all the cps3 games…emulation is good but not perfect obviously, definetly beat the blue elf 2 multijamma cart. It has 2 dualshock1 pcbs rigged up so its just a matter of matching adapters to the console/computer of choice.

The kit(s) are readily available, just a matter of connecting A to B and 1 to 3

I’m the sucker that bought rcaido’s New Astro City cab with the burn in on the monitor (I already knew about the burn in though). :stuck_out_tongue:

It was harder to get in the house than I thought simply because it fit through my backdoor fine, but there is another door frame from my kitchen (which is where the back door leads to) and the dining/living room. And that second door frame was just a bit to small. Luckily my front door is bigger than both of them. The only reason I didn’t go through the front door first is I didn’t have a dolly and there is a paved path to my back door, but none for the front door. But as you can see it is sitting it its new home! All I need now is a board or the SCART to JAMMA board. Does the Australian guy still sell those?

Also, do any of you have any experience with one of these?

For viletims adapter, email him, http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=28069&hilit=viletim . Otherwise I think lizard lick has them too http://www.lizardlick.com/SCART-to-JAMMA-Adapter_p_633.html Whatever float your boat.

Hey all, I’m undertaking building a custom “Vewlix-esque” cabinet for my tiny NYC apartment. I’ve been steady with the plans developing in SketchUp and although the measurements are constricting as a cobra, it’s coming along. I have a construction question for those who have utilized a chamfer bit for beveled edges. Do I really need to purchase a handheld router (portable, round) to house the bit or could I simply use a standard handheld power drill. (I’m well versed in construction and have steady hands.) Thanks in advance for any tips.

I personally hate buying a tool for one task but I’m not off from appreciating it’s extended use.

I saw it on LL, but with all the buzz about people not getting their stuff for months and months and such I’m hesitant to buy from LL, as much as I’ve always liked the site. I’m glad to hear that viletim is still selling them though, thanks.

Yeah, fast shipping too. Well…probably because I am in New Zealand, it doesn’t need to travel far. Be sure to use good quality (or first party) SCART cables for your console of choice or face the wrath of buzzing sounds.

Thanks for the advice. My console of choice is PS3 actually, do you think this is the best way to hook it up to the cab?
