The Official Post your Arcade Cabinet Thread!

Best Game in the series! I still play school 2 every once in a while!

Personally, I think THPS2 is the Best Goddamn Game of All Timeā€¦

Above Half-Life 2, above Super Mario Bros 3, and above SFIII: 3rd Strikeā€¦

/Metal Gear Salute

The adapter comes with a seperate screw in terminal adapter for the controls for both player 1 and player 2. It has up to 5 fire buttons for each player plus a start and select etc Basically, you need use the wired pad pcb to link the adapter to the console and after that the arcade controllers works as the consoleā€™s pad.

The tricky bit is the video as it will display anything the scart/rgb is outputting, so if the source is outputting 240p (awesomeness) you will get 240p on your monitor and 480i will be 480i.

It was the best solution for me cause its cheap, small, well built, appropriately amplified the picture and sound and the guy give good support for his product.

The controls are a piece of pie, you will figure it out once the thing is out of the box.

Do you have pics of the wire pad hooked up to the console adapter?

Anyway, got my two astroā€™s couple of daysā€¦But was poor ass shapeā€¦Too disgusted to show it till i fix it upā€¦

Iā€™m sure some will say itā€™s sacrilege, but I updated my world warrior cab with JLWā€™s. After playing on TEā€™s I canā€™t go back to Happ sticksā€¦

So much more accurate now!

I will eventually be getting 6 purple and 6 yellow happ buttons and matching balltops for thisā€¦ Gonna be Rad!

Well my

So far iā€™m liking the JLW even more than my JLFā€™s.

I want that SF pinball so badly! I remember i had a chance to get it for $525 & i hesitatedā€¦ Next thing i know gone & now they are selling for premium bullshit like $1200ā€¦

yeah, funny situation with the sf2ā€™s, i think for a long time they were seen as junk, especially after the gottleib system 80s, the art is a bit rubbish, well the playfield is ok, the backglass is terrible. however the gottleib system 3 has actually proven to being the most reliable pinball hardware out there. so it has points for that. the game is also know to be pure ā€˜stop and shootā€™ so no flow at all, which is true, but once you pass the first few minutes the game is actually quite good, with a decent 3 ball multiball too.

also, the low price i think was also because in the eyes on pinball people street fighter 2 is perceived as the devil which ruined arcadesā€¦ so a lot of them ignored the machine. the prices might indicate that theres younger people buying pins that see sf2 as cool as opposed to something bad, or something like that imo.

iā€™ve had it for a few months have 499 million as a high score, and still canā€™t ā€˜turn it overā€™ very challenging, cheap dmd.

cheers.

Here you go dude, keep in mind I just scrounge what I had lying around to mount this setup and just stuck my arm inside the cab and took random pictures with the flash on. I hope it answers some of your questions.

The toothpicks were eucalyptus flavour so the cab is minty fresh whenever I open it up. The solid core wires are lacquered so despite the colour would suggest a naked wire, its not conductive and its not shorting the signals out.

AHAHAHAHA I remember seeing that SF2 pinball machine, it has THE worst art everā€¦ sick stuff man, canā€™t believe you have one of those.

Okay i looked at, so ill i have to do is hook up the wires to hack pad into the control terminals? Seems so simple, i guess i only have 2 more questions haha

  1. Can i hook up more then 1 hack pad? Say i want PS2 & 360 would it work?
  2. i notice there is only 5 buttons, how can you get the 6 button to work for fighting games?

http://www.emphatic.se/doublecabs.jpg

Left EGRET II running in 24kHz, right EGRET II running in 15kHz. The 15kHz one is mostly running PCBs, but in this picture a j-tagged 360 I borrowed when I had a shmups meet.

Very clean pretty look! Belongs in one of those Home magazines haha

Its definitely easy as pie.

  1. Just apply the dual mod rule and you can do that. But I just use adapters since there are tons of PS1/2 to <console of choice>. But, yeah, I took the easy way out and it worked out great.
  2. Any additional buttons that the JAMMA is not supporting must be hardwired in. So the button directly activates the dualshock pcb and just ground it to the ground terminal on the adapter.

D3V AR JELOUS!

I would sooo love to have a setup like that at home!
