If you were gonna make a move, the best time to do it was preflop. One thing I’ve learned is that min raises dont always mean a good hand. Pop it to 1200 or so, maybe even all in and see what happens. If you pop it to 1200, and he shoves, then you know it’s time to go, and you still have fold and re-fold equity.
You made the move too late, he has pretty good odds to call. And why on earth would you want a hand the beats you to call you?
He’s getting almost 3 to 1 on the call, if he has any pair he’s calling, I don’t like the move. You made him commit over half his chips and you don’t even know where he’s at.
You did not have fold equity enough to do this move, he’s only going to fold a hand you have beat, in other words only if he has absolutely nothing and he decided to minraise pre, bet flop AND turn for 1/2 his stack. better to have c/red the flop then pushed the turn if he called, though thats pretty eh. I dont like raising pre, because yes its true minraising doesnt mean a big hand( imo more often than not it means not a good hand online at lower stakes at least) but he’s still an ep raiser and you have to commit 1/3 of your stack with an easily dominated hand to find anything out.
You’d be surprised how often people will fold AQ down and even hands like 9s or 10s UTG. Maybe it’s not a good play at $5.50, but so many times people will either flat call and get outplayed on the flop, or fold. Enough so that I think it’s worthwhile. I dont like flatcalling because it means you are out of position, so re-raising gives you the lead and can easily push people off the best pre hand.
Based on my read on the guy i was 99% he didnt have the Q, and if he caught any other part of the board which he did i figured he would fold to a bet that risks his tourney.
In his position facing a check raise with bottom pair scares me off, i agree i didn’t have the stack to wait till the turn to make the move though. He did think about it for a long time, i can only guess he called on the basis i was on a flush draw or a stone cold bluff.
A reraise pre flop is the move next time here for sure! Oh i finished 2nd in the end, overcame a 3to1 CL to get myself a 2 to1 too until the guy gets TT,QQ back to back and flops sets both times (how do you even see those type of hands heads up lol)

i was at the bycicle casino last night playing the $100 NL hold em and an hour or so into it i saw freddy deeb walk by. some guy at my table goes “hey, he looks just like that guy on the travel channel” freddy turned around and apparently he knew him cause he shook his hand and asked him how his familys doin back in lebenon. then they started chatting in lebonese or something.
apparently the wpt bike tournament was goin on that day and a bunch of pros were hangin around the high limit games and back rooms blowing off some steam.
yeah there Legends of Poker event is going on most of this month place will be littered with pros/games, thats cool you saw him…you play at the bike often?
nah, that was actually my first time at the bike and i was impressed. very nice place inside with nice people and a lot of different games. my favourite thing about the bike is that most food is FREE. i just give a buck or two tip.
i normally play online or at that hawiian gardens casino which is realy grimey compared to the bike. ill definetly be going back

It could even be turned into a weekly or bi weekly thing if it took off.
Nah that’s not me. I actually haven’t been on WPX for awhile. I like 6max tables better than 5max tables and the 100 and 200 games for NL are pretty hard. Almost all tables are 3-4 regulars. I did up the numbers and I was making more on Full Tilt and Stars so I haven’t been on WPX since then.
Hey was wondering if someone could help me out and do like ~60 FTP or Stars transfer for paypal $. Like every deposit method fucking hates me, former firepay user.
