hahaha, shut up.
It seems the last two main event champions (Raymer and Hachim) were able to:
-Out last more people than the year they were champions.
-Cashed.
Now I wonder if whoever is this yearâs champion will do the same next year? I imagine that thereâs going to be like 12,000 people entering next year.
iâm pretty sure theyâve already said that theyâre capping the main event at 10,000
Itâs illegal to set a cap.
allen cunningham just got bustedâŚ
when will we ever see another pro player taking the main event?
Depends on your definition of a pro.
Joseph Hachem said he played for a living, he only kept a job for his wife - does that make him a pro? His main source of income was from poker. Greg Raymer, he had a job but he played high stakes still and entered the main event before his win - was he a pro?
Thereâs tons of people out there who play for a living that no one ever heard of, so it really depends on how you define a pro.
If you mean a small subset of people that television hyped up as the face of poker then probably not.

- Harrahâs expects up to 12,000 people for next yearâs main event, and if it happens, the final table will be split into two days.*
What a dissapointing day for poker.
After looking at the Jamie Gold interview and reading the update logs at CardPlayer, it seems heâs a âjackelâ type player. But looking at his result log, he seem to have a few minor cashes before the WSOP:
Can you clarify? What do you mean by it being disappointing? Is it b/c Allen Cunningham or that Swedish pro didnât win? Just wondering.
I plan to go to WSOP2007. Done with college. Got a nice paying job. And my bankroll is slowly rising.
If you watched the live stream you wouldâve known that:
a) Jamie Gold is a DOUCHEBAG.
b) He basically spit in the face of David Einhorn after he busted him, laughing about how the charity he was going to give his money to was "shit outta luck"
c) Didnât even want to win in the first place, saying he was considering throwing the main event because he didnt want to be famous.
Either way, I canât wait for next August, this guyâs gonna be a crappy ambassador for poker, just like that retard who won the 2002 WSOP. If you didnt notice, he was garbage too.
AND he looks like Robert Varkonyi. . .
Good grief. Sounds like a jackass.
After reading the log again, I realized this yearâs final table main event is almost 2005 Bay 101 Shooting Stars again. Gold almost busted out the entire table. He missed one: Doug Kim. But I donât think he was making stupid calls on gutshots, but still was playing like a jackel with raises with crap hands.
naw this was nowhere nearly as bad as danny nguyen shit.
He had big chip stack though. Thatâs an excuse right? =|
What do you mean? Iâve heard things but the only thing I remember about him is seeing his runner runner 7s on TV. I missed out on Shooting Stars 2005 so whatâs the deal with Danny Nguyen. Just curious.
Interesting thing happened to me last night at Full TiltâŚI was playng a SnG, and in the FIRST 9 hands, I got Q7o four times and T4o four times exactly. It was pretty bizarre. I even have my HH to prove it. :looney:
This should answer it:

And hereâs CardPlayerâs version of it:
http://www.cardplayer.com/tournaments/live_updates/185/1851?page=5
And speaking of which, did he just cashed in a WSOP event this year or thatâs another Danny Nguyen?
yeah ill win it next year
Made the move fom cash games to Multi table SnGâs recently so iâm trying to brush up on my SnG plays, a hand came up and i made a play at it, i dunno if it was a worthwhile move?

Once i saw the flop i planned to check call flop then make a move on the turn so long as he didnt push first, i decided he didnât hit the flop and decided to make what i thought was a strong play to rep the Queen. I thought i had FE on my side just about, he has 10BB+ if he folds or is crippled if he loses. He goes into the tank and calls with A2, EXACTLY the type of hand i want him to have there but he calls anyway? Bad call or bad play? (or combination of both?)
I realise itâs a hella cheap call in relation to the pot, but in relation to his stack and the hand that my bet suggests i have i figured it negated pot odds somewhat? Input appreciated.
