OK, Iām starting to learn Omaha. Just wondering if thereās something on this, like starting hand stratagies? All I understand is Straights and Flushes happen more than on Texas Holdāem.
Sucks the only televised Omaha on TV is on ESPN, but only show like 2 episode of it per year. I also wonder why there is no No Limit Omaha in the WSOP?
Best starting hand is either AAKK Double Suited or AAJT Double Suited. Take your pick.
There is no NLO because NL Omaha is STUPID. Its the same reason why theres no NL Stud.
People lose stacks fast enough in Pot Limit, NL would be crazy.
Also hands like 89TJ Double suited are very good. In Omaha you really want to drawing to the nuts at all times, pocket pairs are really only good for set value, if your drawing to a flush draw to the nut flush, drawing to a straight draw to the nut straight. Also a concept that takes a while to get used to is sometimes if you flop the nuts you have to fold it without a second thought. Letās say you got AsAd4c5d flop comes 3c6h7c, you bet then get raised big, youāre gonna have to fold, he could very easily have a freeroll, ie same straight with redraws, 7754c, 4567c, 9854c, etc etc. Gotta be able to lay down the nuts when you have little hope of improving.
If theres a possible straight or possible flush on the board and you have trips, I dont care if theyre aces fold your hand asap.
If the board is paired and you dont have a boat, again fold your hand.
Iām basing this on the table being full. I never played any omaha tournaments (except for one time by accident and i won it) but if you are playing tournaments then use your judgement based on how many people are at the table.
GTFO out of hereā¦ youre so full of shit.
what happened to the millions you lost a while backā¦
First one is a no, since top set has a lot of redraws. (redraw to the full house) Unless thereās heavy action you should usually take a card off with top set.
To elaborate on #2, you should also be ABLE to (Iām not saying always fold), but you should be able to fold top boat, and 2nd top boat when thereās heavy betting, and you know you are up against quads.
this guy is fake
im talkin after the river, Iād never fold it on the flop @_@
ok, whats the deal with pro magic players doing good at poker? one of the all time greatest magic players, jon finkel, is like #4 right now in chip countā¦crazyā¦
Negreanu heading into day three 5th overall in chip count.
goooo negreanu.
is sam farha doing well? how about phil ivey?
yeah iāve been searching through Cardplayer and canāt find Phil Iveyās name anywhere on the board
Farha = busted I believe
Ivey = Phil Ivey $23,400 138 1
Not good after 2 days.
Allen Cunningham the only Full Tilt Poker player leftā¦
and Prahlad Friedman currently in 21st place.
http://www.cardplayer.com/tournaments/chip_counts/3229?viewall=true
final table is set for tomorrow at 2pm PST
allen cunningham is second in chips, but is still 8-9 million in chips behind the leaderā¦but still, if youāve watched him play a lot, you can definitely see him taking this oneā¦and look at his profile on cardplayer.com:
āCunningham has 88 recorded cashes in major poker tournaments and has made an impressive 70 final tables, going heads up in 22 of them and winning 14.ā
did i read that right? out of 88 cashes, heās made the final table in 70 of them?!? thatās a damn good percentageā¦
anyway, when this ends up being televised here in canada, iām just glad that thereās one big name i know in the final tableā¦it makes it a little more interesting imoā¦
iw as pretty pissed when my roomate in vegas(rizen) busted out.
but palying cash games with prahlad all night was fun
especially hearing people saying they thought my online name was his was especially amusing.
great series for my first one, and i canāt wait to go back next year
