Hardest Beat EVER
Jack Mahalingam is all-in for $5,000 and is called an opponent in late position. Mahalingam shows 8spade8club and his opponent has 5heart5club. The flop is 6spade5spade5diamond and his opponent flops quads. The turn is a 9spade giving Mahalingam a gut-shot straight flush draw (his only way to win). The river is the 7spade giving Mahalingam the straight flush and the hand.

not really a beat since he got his money in as a 20% IMO

if the money got in after the flop then yea, but not pre flop

Any word on how Vietkhan is doing in the tournament?

Its a four day day 1 (1A, 1B etc.)since there were close to 9000 people around 8700 to be more precise so there is a 50-50 chance that he hasnt played at all yet. If he did play good luck to him.

[tilt] Iā€™m having a bad run on Ultimate Bet over the course of 24 hours. Booooooooo! [/tilt]

Wow, 8700 in the main event! Hot damn.

Speaking of the WSOP, just wondering if anyone know that Phil Hellmuth is once again tied with Doyle and Chan in WSOP braclets?

Well I guess there wonā€™t be that many funny rants when they show this on ESPN.

Also, I was watching PPT lately and saw someone folded pocket 7s in early position pre raise in 4th Quarter of the tournament. Whatā€™s interesting:

-If he called, he would of faced Pocket Qs.
-May hit trip 7s on the flop, but might loss big when the Q hit, giving the opponent trip Qs. River, wasnā€™t the last 7.

Just wondering are pocket 2s - 7s in early position really not good to play pre raise?

omfg andy lam.

youve converted to pedophilia with that chick from that disney channel show. shes hmong, 16 and not your type.

shes my type.

getting back to poker talk, im planning on getting back into online poker for the summer after summer schools over and learning to play lowlimit. my friend swears by SSHE, anyone else got pointers on starting up? progs to install for partypoker and whatnot? none of this texas calculatem nonsense.

SSHE is real good for the basic concepts and stuff. However when he describes quality of games online such as loose tight etc it is incredibly off unless youā€™re playing really really low limits like 5 cents 10 cents. Online poker has tightened up a lot since that book.

This could be just my opinion but in early position its better off to just call or fold. Raising in early position low pairs will usually spell disaster unless you hit a set. If you just call and someone raises see how many other people call, how much more is it, the raisers chip stack, your chip stack and what not and calculate your pot odds from there to decided wether or not to call or. But keep in mind if your holding a small pair from UtG your more then likely playing out of position which makes it even harder for you to win with that pair especially if everything on board are overcards. Unless you got a pretty good read on the situation I wouldnt recommend it, but dont be afraid to mix it up once in awhile so its harder to get reads on you. But then again it comes down to analyzing the situation.

This is tourny wise im speaking. Cash game wise well im not much of a cash gamer so someone else might want to speak on that.

Thatā€™s pretty damn standard. Also to margalis youā€™re not 4 to 1 with AK over Ax your about 2.5 to 1, but yeah flat calling here is pretty bad I think, something like 99 can isolate with the potential dead money, and then you have a tough decision depending on the stack size, plus if you let someone else push thereā€™s a good chance your in a race, while you usually have UTG dominated.

Also I didnt realize til now Flipmasta but Ive played with you, I think in the 3 or 5r but not sure, fellow PXF member as well:) sn kleath.

Also gl to Hevad and Sigley, is Hevad playing 24 tables at once though?

Kleath ehā€¦yea i got notes on ya  Pretty good results on pokerdb too.

yeah had a great couple months then bad bankroll management shit snowballed and now Im basically busto, gotta start rebuilding now.:frowning:

fuck not having a decent roll anymore, cant stand this low low limit shit.

i play today day 1c

canā€™t sleep :frowning:

i think hevad busted, i tried to goto rio to see him play but it was a zoo so i passed

couldnā€™t get near any of the tables

Good luck sigley, check raise some stupid tourists and take big pots off them.

She 18 now! She Hmong + Thai! :arazz:

As for low limit, one tip I know works for me is patience. Iā€™ve been playing a lot of low limit online the past 3 months, and I see lots of odd plays going on. Oh, just be prepared for people holding on to bottom pair to the river and hitting two pair or trips!

IM me if you need some generic adviceā€¦or someone to vent frustrations to. :looney:

Oh, and check this place out. www.pokersourceonline.com and sign up at sites through here. Get free stuff on top of bonuses. Let me know and you can put me down as a referrrrrrrrrral. :wgrin:

Lastly, just now, AA and KK back to back held up against 4 people! :lovin:

well iā€™m out after an uneventful first couple of hours this hand comes up

utg+2 (20k or so) raises to 600, iā€™m utg+3 (15k or so) with AA, smooth call, BB moves all in for like 1500, utg+2 re raises all in, i call

BB got A10, UTG+2 got JJ, I got AA

flop 10 J J who knows what came on the turn and river because i left

good game
