It’s not unthinkable, just not practical. I’ve seen it before. The guy would play 2 tables and just run back and forth between the 2. It was funny because he’d see that the cards were being dealt and he’d have to run and sit down before the dealer sat him out.
well mostly i’m talking about isn’t your game affected by multi-tabling online? or are the other players just not as astute so you don’t have to be?
I just got 40th in a 6000 player tourney on pokerstars. Let me tell you, playing in a tourney for 4 and a half hours and leaving emptyhanded is fuckin frustrating!!!
Ideally you want to just play the game you’re best at. A bonus should not be the reason you play. You should play a game you can beat and the bonus you get on top of that just boosts your earn rate.
And I’m about to contradict that with what I say about multi-tabling. When you multi-table, yes it lowers your BB/100. You can’t pay attention, you may just throw away some marginal heads when you should be isolating; you may call down a rock because you weren’t paying enough attention, etc. I mean it gets easier with time, but in theory you make up the -EV with more tables and more hands so you earn more money per hour.
Like for example, I’m about a 1.5-2BB/100 player when just playing 1 table. When I 4 table, my rate falls to about 1 BB/100. Eventually there comes a point where adding more tables takes away more than it adds. For me that number is 4. Some people can 8 table or 12 table. They’re freaks of nature, but they can do it. But since I’m playing 4 tables, my hourly earn rate is at least double what it would be playing just one table. Add into that the speed at which bonuses clear and it’s an easy decision.

This might be the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. I’m Black 8ces, and right after clicker went completely nuts, I dont blame him.

no limit holdem? i think i did that one, got 105.
so viscant what you’re saying is a person gets to a point where they are able to handle multi-tabling and it can become profitable?
Eventually. A lot of it is a trial and error thing. Everyone starts playing 1 table. Then you add another and see if you can keep track and still play your best. Then you add another. And another. etc.
This works way best in combination with bonus hunting. Because while you give up some EV in terms of BB/100 while multi-tabling, you make up for it HUGE by quadrupling your hands played. For some good bonuses, I’m clearing them at a rate of around $30-40/hr because of 4 tabling. And since I play for money instead of for stats…the choice is obvious.
But like I said, you really should be playing to win and not “lose less than the bonus”. Too many people get into a bonus chasing frenzy and they worry more about the bonus than their play. You should never play more tables than you’re ready for just to meet hand quotas. It should just be something on top of a consistent earn rate.

In the all well that ends well catagory I requalified up the steps and won 500 bucks in he PP mini-steps by finishing 3rd last nite. Additionally I finished 21 in a 680 person speed tourney when my a/3 suited lost to j/6 suited. Not a bad day.
this thing has more participants than WSOP and 40th place here should get u a chunk of money…
i wonder how the payout structure for this tourney is
Well it was a free tourney, but the top 27 got into a real money tourney or something like that. I was just mad that I put so much time into it and came that close, but oh well…
hand analysis please, i think i should have reraised LHK to make him fold?

Always raise your hands. Don’t slow play, unless you’re totally sure you have the nuts. That leads to more people catching the cards that they need. Make them pay for that draw. Say the board paired on the turn, then I’d say check, but betting the pot is the play there.
Well when the flop comes out,you know you’re good atm, the only hand that has you beat is AA, and you can be pretty sure no one has it. If the raiser had it, he would have probably raised more, if anyone else had it they would have reraised. Now on the flop there’s all kinds of draws that would be played for 20c, you got to think he’s on the draw, I might have bet more but the pot wasnt that big so Im not gonna nitpick over that. On the turn though, it gets checked to you, you need to bet hard. Size of the pot bet here, even if he made a straight here(I figured he had a straight draw before seeing his cards) you represent a flush, and even if he made a bigger hand aka a flush you have ~10 outs to make a boat. You want him to fold there, but if he calls its still fine. But you let that 7 come for free and now you’re completely boned, any 4 beats you now, as well if he was playing the 98 gutshot draw. You lost that hand by being passive.
yes n-ken, i think you are right, i should have bet the turn, representing a flush, or at least a stronger hand than he had atm. should i get called/raised i did have outs that’s true. to explain myself, LHK (the other guy) was only playing draws for the half hour or so i played with him, i was sure he hit the flush, so sure. i suppose that’s what made me check the turn.
Slowplaying really isn’t about having the nuts. What you need to look at is the board texture for slowplaying. If the board was say k-6-2, then a slowplay would probably work. You slowplay because you WANT your opponents to catch up, or to take a stab at the pot. Of course, I agree that slowplaying is wrong here, there’s too many draws. But everyone has already said what to do, and thats to jam the shit out of the turn. Make people pay for their Ah-X, or their straight draws.
Anyways, thanks to stupid UB hand histories, I wasn’t able to get about 20 h ands that I wanted feedback on. However, this is my first “online” cash in a tourney, I felt I played really well but I just ran into a guy on an insane rush. Went from 5th with 5 left to knocking everyone out in a span of 20 hands.
And if anyone wants to play in some tourneys on UB, let me know. I’m on there as Black 8ces and usually feeding money to people in 1/2 Limit.
I don’t understand how anyone can enjoy playing MTT tourneys, certainly with a bogus payout structure like the one above. They are so time consuming and the payout so top heavy I don’t find them worth MY time. I am also very poor at them, and understanding this stick to sit n’ go and 6 max cash, which I play much better than full ring cash. A whole lot of nothing to say sorry about your results and stick to what you play well.
