poker is for suckers
sup zscan, where have u been on Poker lately? set up a tourney again please =)
This monthās quest for me. $3000 in just bonus earnings. Planning for $5000 in overall earnings.
The plan is to 4 table for 5 hours a day for a total of at least 20 tablehours per day. The least profitable bonus Iām going to be chasing will be at Absolute with a clear rate of about $5.60 per tablehour. Even at this rate, thatāll average out to slightly more than $100 per day. Obviously better bonuses will pop up and the overlay will give me a couple days off should I need them.
As far as availability goes, I have it mapped out like this. Just bonuses pending right now.
Poker Stars: $150
Check n Raise: $370 left
Poker Room: $200
Paradise: $380 left
Absolute: $1550
Hold em Poker: $666
Poker Blue: $460 (bad bonus)
Full Tilt: $240 (borderline)
Hollywood: $950 (bad at 2/4, borderline at 3/6)
Ultimate Bet: $480 (very bad bonus)
So just in bonuses that I have sitting around that are Absolute schedule or better, I have over $3300 to clear. Bad bonuses are probably not necessary.
Also in monthlies.
Will Hill: $40
Caribbean Sun: $40
Interpoker: $90 (at minimumāwith another promotion probably better)
Poker Plex: $50
Bet 365: $100
Thatās $320 right there. So in bonuses that are either sitting waiting to be seized or in bonuses that are guaranteed to be here, I have more than enough to complete the quest.
That doesnāt take into account that at least $600-800 in good reloads will be available (counting good as better than Absolute). So bonus availability for this month isnāt really the issue, itās just whether or not I can actually complete the hands required.
Iām going to see exactly how profitable the job of bonus whore can be.

how much of a bankroll are you using to get 3k in bonuses?
how the heck did you get such a big bonus at paradise, signup and reload was like max $200.
Paradise bonuses stack and never expire. I really dislike Paradise as a poker roomā¦note taking is inefficient, you canāt see if you have notes on someone, etc. Also the hands per hour is some of the slowest on the net with the winner having to click a button to show cards (not like you can fold the winning hand, but it makes you actually click āshow winning handā or waits for a few seconds or shows it anyways), so Iām not a fan of the room.
But the nice thing about it is that since the bonuses donāt expire, every time they have a bonus I put some money in and take it out the next day, sometimes playing a little bit, sometimes not. Thatās also how bonus money has piled up at Absolute and Ultimate Bet, other bonuses that stack and donāt expire.
Iām not altering my normal bankroll for this month. I usually keep between $3000 and $5000 as my operating roll. This month Iām operating with about $4200 since I wanted to pay myself a round number for last month. Since Iām going to play small stakes limit games this month, I donāt need a very large roll, but I keep it at about this level so I can have a cash reserve to hit up extra bonuses (as well as rolling over my Absolute bonus periodically).

Viscant: Im curious to see how well you can play in the casino environment. If you want to meet up at one of the sd casinos on Nov. 11 or Nov. 12 ill be there.
I donāt like playing in a B&M setting. Itās fun sometimes but most of the time itās just boring. Sitting there trying to play a TAG game, and not getting cardsā¦itās like a form of torture to me. My earn rate is far lower playing 1 table B&M, even though the players are worse, compared to the internet where Iām playing 4 tables and getting paid a bonus for all that play.
But I might be up for it just to get out of the house. The day you go or the day before email or AIM me and I might drop by.

Whatās a good amount of money to have to start to bonus whore, and what are some of the better starting bonuses out there?
Ideally you want to have at least $500 to start bonus chasing but you really donāt even need that much. A good guide for how to get started on whoring is written up here: http://bonuswhores.com/bonus-whoring-101.php

sit n goās r yummy and make money
Mike Infinite is a stud.
ahha i played $10 with the money we made Mikeā¦then i went to the dime tables and lost on this hand
I held A 8 spades in the BB and called a small bet
flop came 5 2 K all spades.
i check, opponent bets, i reraise, and he calls. turn came a K
with half my chips in the pot, i was already pot committed and he bet small, and i go all-in. iām guessing he was on a K getting trips.
river came a rag
opponent wins with 22 for full house. the nuts arenāt the nuts until the river i guess =(
i still have enough for 1 tourney =D
what is so good about sit and gos again?
Just started playing online poker and this thread has helped my game quite a bit so far.
Iām starting out small playing $1-$3 tourney 9 seat tables. 1 problem i am having with my game is when i get down to the final 2. 1 on 1 with blinds usually being quite high. I dont know why but i seem to lose a LOT of the time in this situation, is there any methods or certain things you should and shouldnāt do?
I usually get caught trying to steal the blinds when getting low on chips (or just greedy) and end up being pulled all in and losing. I dont like to play many hands in the early stages when there are still a lot of people on the table and save my chips for solid hands but i feel if i do this in the 1on1 iāll lose out to the blinds too quick so my whole gameplan goes out the window and i play hands i would normally fold.
Any advice on 1 on 1 play would be appreciated.
my method is go all in every ace or king. any pocket pair go all in. Then the hand after go all in again. Just do a lot of all ins and hope to have live cards.
