snivy just has a poor moveset compared to the other starters. I actually started with snivy really, but when I saw that Samurott got Megahorn I reset my game lol.
where do you guys go for audino exterminations? I thought they were rares, only appearing every now and then. Audino is this generations chansey exp wise.
Can you post how many EVs for each stat these guys give you? I wanna EV train Volcanora or whatever. Fire moth guy. Either that or a link to a site that has the EV values for guys in this game.
I think I’m gonna train up…
Volcanora or whatever (fire moth guy)
Lo Mien or whatever (Dog fighting thing)
Ultraman thing (Dark/Steel)
Elektross (Elec guy with levitate)
You definitely want a Chandelure, but if you’re already training Volcanora, you won’t need it. Haxorus owns ingame something fierce, just don’t let it’s base form evolve until you get Dragon Dance and Outrage… You’ll thank me later when you’re not waiting until level 80 to finally start owning stuff. Gothitelle is cool, but it’s moveset options are pretty limited. You get Psychic, Shadow Ball, and um, Hidden Power as attack choices, lol. It does have pretty good support options, so it’s kinda like Gardevoir in that sense.
Giant Chasm has the highest audinos I’ve found. I bike around without touching the grass until I see a shaking bush and 9/10 times, it’s a level 50ish Audino. With Lucky Egg, you get ridiculous amounts of exp. I got 8k exp once lol.
@Joro3s They each give 1 EV to their respective stat.
Yeah I’m pretty attached to Volcanora right now. Thanks for the tip about Haxorus. And yes, I agree that Goth might not be too useful… Maybe I’ll find some sort of Calm Mind sweeper for that slot.
ferrothorn is so good. still difficult to use competitively, as any wall/staller is, but his resistences and high defs stats are great. he’s not broken tier by any means, but he can definitely get the job done in average play.
just wish he had rapid spin or access to will-o-wisp.
my halfway point team (first run at elite four and N):
Tepig lvl 52 Adamant @ firegem (once per gym leader and then charcoal when I ran out) 250-Att/200-Spd/~60 mixed, mostly HP
-Flame Blitz
-Rock Smash (wish it was brick break)
-Head Smash
-Strength
Siglyph (swept most of the elite four) 250 Spd/ Mixed the rest, spent a lot of time EVing sp att, but not that much. @ sharp beak
-Shadow Ball
-Psychic
-Air Slash
-Whirlwind
Roggenrolla lvl 54 Relaxed ~250 def/ mixed the rest @ quick claw
-Stealth Rocks
-Dig (wish it was EQ)
-Stone Edge
-Rock Smash
Frillfish 250 SpDef/~200 Sp At/ mixed the rest @ um, i forget
-Surf
-Shadowball
-Recover
-Toxic
(I didn’t evolve many of them since I like the challenge, and story wise, I like having them as the pre evolved form. I ended up not using this team for the rest of the game because my friend hadn’t beaten it yet, and we usually battle each other before or right after beating the elite four.)
Post Team Plasma Team:
Ferrothorn lvl 72 EV 120 def/120SpDef/120 HP/120Att @ leftovers
-stealth rock
-power whip
-gyro whatever
-t-bolt! (lol… switched out for toxic when against adler)
Hydregion lvl 70 EV split SpAtt/Spd @ Dragon Fang
-dragon pulse
-work up
-crunch
-tri-attack
I actually went in to see how far I could go with my team against the elite four ver. 2.0 and ended up winning it all. I had heard that the elite four was high leveled, but i expected higher. Chandelure was the MVP sweeping both the ghost and psychic team, and putting a huge dent in the fighting team (until it got stone edged). None of these teams were seriously trained, and were fun to play over all.
I didn’t know people took ingame so seriously. I’m just enjoying the ride while making sure I get all the useful TMs and items I can find. The story is actually keeping me sorta entertained.
Yeah I’m not going to go that far with ingame, I jsut want to the beat the game so i can reap all the benefits of catching certain pokes for team building (until I can find someone to Pokesav for me)
I need to create 1/2 Pokesav 1/2 Trained team.
I wrecked the 6th gym with Galvantula. sweeped the whole team easily. I finally evolve my darumaka into Darmanitan too. Not sure what’s in store, but I’m having hella fun haha.
I make a pseudo serious in game team bc my close friends do not play serious competition, so my in game team is also my team against them. While I enjoy the fun aspect of it, I still like to win. Most of those friends stop playing after they beat the elite four, so their teams tend not to have bred moves/competitive items, or ev trained, or well natured. They also use ubers while I will generally refuse to, with some exceptions. giratina is still one of my favorites. Back in d/p, I ran him vs my friends, but balanced it by putting a jigglypuff or a farfetch’d on the team. I’m still upset there is no farfetch’d evolution.
Dream world goes online in the us at the end of the month, no? Anyone played the jp vers (if it was opened up already?). Any fun? What is it like? Sounded like a pokemon farmville with people watering your berries n ish.
Yeah, Dreamworld goes online the 30th. I’m getting excited . Hopefully our launch will be better than Japan’s - they had to delay it for two weeks after a server overload on the first day. They also put restrictions on how long you can use it (no more than an hour every 24 hours), but I have no idea if these have been lifted since then or if the US/EU versions will have them.
I haven’t played the Japanese version, but it does look kinda like a social browser game. The global battle union also goes online where you can do ranked matches.
Too bad mienshao isn’t part steel or he’d be this generation lucario, he still has the stats to pull off some of what lucario can do.
This generation has A TON of glass cannon pokemon. A lot of things can get up to 125 ATK base but have poor defenses. If he’d learn Aura Sphere sooner I’d probably switch him out for cofagrigus
The level jump from beating Ghetsis to the first trainer in the post-game is RIDICULOUS. Around 10 levels from Ghetsis’ highest to the lowest trainers? That’s just crazy.
Dunno what I’m going to use for part 2. Definitely using Kangaskhan (The first one I caught was Adamant/Scrappy), maybe Tyranitar. Probably going to use Volcarona and Bisharp. I might import something from 4th gen. Anything else good in the wild from here on out?
I’m at twist mountain on Black. I ditched Growlithe/Arcanine for Axew. Axew learns DD before evolving which is good IMO. I didn’t want to wait to evolve it for early outrage. IMO DD+DC is good enough. Haxorus not learning outrage until level 66 is outrageous though! Axew is difficult to raise because he dies to the slightest tap. I had to evolve him ASAP!
I was able to get Adamant+Mold Breaker too.
I don’t know when I should evolve my Gurdurr. I know Gurdurr and Conkeldurr learn level up moves at the same levels, but I might make the game too easy with that man monster on my team. I’m just going to wait until the elite four. Timburr is surprisingly good even unevolved. No, he isn’t broken like Sawk but base 80 attack and 55 defense unevolved is excellent. Gurdurr is a good Pokemon too.
My current team is:
Samurott
Zoroark
Leavanny
Archeops
Gurdurr
Fraxure
When you realize Cheren gives you chesto berries as soon as you enter Nacrene City, then Lenora becomes stupid easy.
My battle with Lenora went like this:
Watchog used Hypnosis
