Good typing, base 135 attack, can top 600 speed in the sand, access to swords dance which allows it to OHKO a lot of things.

Hp- I like fighting duckletts on the drift veil bridge but you can also fight flub fish or whatever they are called in the puddles in icirrus city.

Sp ATt- lit wicks on fl 1 of celestial tower
Sp def- frill fish surfing on rte 18
Spd- any place with 100% basculin or fight swannas on marvelous bridge.
Sometimes I like ev training on bridges bc I can collect those feathers at the same time.

Every type that Growlithe covers is covered by another teammate. Steel? Gurdurr. Ice? Gurdurr. Bug? Archen. Grass? Leavanny and Archen. It also feels weird using Growlithe in this game because he’s not a unova Pokemon. I could get rid of Growlithe but who should I replace him with? I was thinking Axew. I don’t want to use Excadrill because I used him before in White.
Axew imo. Haxorus literally sweeped the entire E4 for me. Ingame dragon dance = gg

who was the toughest gym leader for you guys?
the closest I came to losing was vs. lenora, I got a critical hit on her Watchog. If I don’t get that, she beats me lol.
Elesa and her goddamn volt switch pokemon.
The hardest Gym leader was Elesa because I didn’t grind. Fuck Emolga
The biggest jokes are Burgh and Brycen.

Lenora’s sleep-haxin’ self gave me the most trouble. Took several attempts on my Japanese playthrough, but I overleveled a bit this time. Elesa wasn’t as hard, but she was still mad annoying. Not, like, Whitney’s Miltank annoying, but close.
Lenora’s Watchog crit-haxed me so many times it made my head spin and hurt. It got to the point where I could predict when a crit was coming simply because I was about to win.
the closest i came to losing against anyone was against elesa. those emolgas were really annoying…electric/flying is such an odd but effective typing imo. plus at the time, it’s likely that those emolgas will be outspeeding whatever you have. pretty damn annoying
actually had to grind to evolve my drillbur into excadrill because of those fucking things
i will say this though, elesa is my favorite gym leader by far this generation.
excadrill rapes elesa, well he rapes a lot of things, but elesa notably 
once I got rock slide elesa didn’t stand a chance really, the only way she could beat me was zebstrikas flame dash + crit hax. The problem with lenora is that her Watchog out sped a lot of early game pokemon, and nothing could really take boosted retaliation attacks that stage of the game. Oh yeah and hypnosis, what a cruel parring.
i forgot how i beat lenora in my english run but when i played through the japanese version, my dageki (fuck that american name lol) swept her entire team
oddly enough though, i had more trouble in my japanese run on the E4 than i did on the american version. the E4 was really no match for the combination of excadrill/conkeldurr/chandelure. it certainly helped that my pokemon were in their early to mid 50’s.
ghetsis gave me a tough time however. that sazandora (forgot american name) gave me all sorts of problems cause of its moveset and level. afrobull gave me a bit of trouble too. everything else was pretty free
nothing else ever made me rage so much over a game then that. glad to know i wasnt the only one getting like all 6 pokemon taken out by a rollout.
been offline for a bit due to a bad modem, finally swapped it out today.
glad I wasn’t the only one who had trouble with those damn emolga’s in Elesa’s gym. I’m about to take on the 6th gym. I got the final evolutions of tepig and snivy and put them in the PC, because I like darumaka better than emboar, and snivy just plain sucked. I got a joltik and leveling it a bit before the next gym.
tried taking on round 2 of the E4 and got owned since my pokemon were all early level 60’s. currently killing audinos for EXP…
