man, zuruzukin is now one of my new favorite pokemon. can you imagine how hard it’s going to be to take down with 115/115 defenses? bulk up is literally the perfect move for this guy when you add overconfidence and leftovers. also has great typing with fighting/dark. i think he’s going to be OU or BL at least. it also gets DD via egg move
Inconsistent may be the greatest ability ever.
Inorite?
115 in both defenses is almost mitigated by the 65 HP. I still like Zuruzukin alot. I can’t choose which fighter I want on my team, because there are a lot of good fighting types this gen. I’m stuck between Roopushin, Kojondo and Zuruzukin. I might pick Kojondo because he’s almost as fast as Infernape and has 125 base attack.
I’ve been playing White for a while, really loving the new pokemon design. If anyone can help me out I have a Dotekkotsu that I need to evolve by trading. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me out with that just message me on AIM or something.
I just got the 4th gym badge, if anyone wants to battle I’m game (I am a scrub pokemon player though so don’t expect much )
weather will own this gen.
It’s already owning this generation. People actually want Drizzle and Drought banned in standard play. I like Eccentric choice scarf Ditto, Shadow Tag Shandera, and lead Kojondo. I personally think Trick Room will see a lot of use this generation as well. A lot of Pokemon are really slow this generation but happen to be very strong and/or on the bulky side. Still, striking first is just as important now as it was in the past.
Weather at its base is broken, especially for the already broken Water types.
Does anyone have a team planned? I have no idea which starter I want because they all suck IMO. They aren’t like the Sinnoh starters where they all have something unique. Torterra had high attack and defense, Empoleon is a very good special attacker, and Infernape can go mixed with his high attack stats and speed.
Infernapes move pool is also quite versatile. The only Isshu starter with a decent move pool is Enbuoh but I hate how slow he is. Enbuoh might die before he even makes a move unless you put him on a trick room team. Jalorda is a speedster with really crap offensive stats. Daikenki is just floating on the waves of mediocrity. He has decent attacking stats, so so defenses, and crap speed like the fire starter.
I am planning on Denchura, Roopushin, Zoroark, Doryuuzu, Buffalon and whatever starter I picked. I might axe a team member for a flier of some sort.
Roopushin is subject to change, I might change my mind and get Zuruzukin or Kojondo.
What sucks about making a team is that most of the Pokemon I want to use won’t be available until US Dreamworld opens up completely, otherwise there’s no point. Damn Gaymefreak.
I was really talking about an Ingame teams. My team would be destroyed in competitive environments. Most of the Pokemon I want for the metagame aren’t going to be available until the US dreamworld as well. I really want to try speed boost Blaziken.
It’s a shame I didn’t get to 6-0 a team with Bidoof before Inconsistent got banned.
I can’t decide between B/W. I’m leaning towards White because Black City is just a city and after I level up pretty high, the trainers would be useless. In White Forest I can catch and train Pokemon I can’t in Black? I think? Anyways, to those who have played both, which is better in terms of BC/WF?
Is it really that mean of an ability? From what I got from it, it sounds like a one stage stat +/- trade at random on entry. That doesn’t sound remotely mean. Am I mistaken?
Until you realize that the stat changes stack and you can Sub and Protect.
And Evasion also counts as a stat.
I… guess I see it. Then again, I never was one to think Evasion was that retarded of a stat to begin with. I guess I just see it being broken if it was “every turn, this happens” as opposed to “upon entry”, considering that stat changes are reset on tag out.
inconsistent can make a piece of shit like octillery a world killer. That is how good it easy. From playing online weather is the game. I got up to 1350 on pokemon online and quit since its just nothing but cookie cutter ttar leads nattoreis dorys and fro good measure that water ghost thrown in. literally 80 percent of sandstorm teams have those four. It gets very boring. I run rain but I have a bit of uniqueness in it at least. I don’t think since I figured out how to play this team to its full ability I’ve lost to a non weather squad. Its that much of a barrier.
And no Pokemon can full prepare for the changes, it is totally based on Luck. Phazers can be Taunted and are easy to spot as well.
Inconsistent - at the end of each turn (including the turn the Pokémon was switched in), randomly increases one of its stats by 2 stages and decreases a different stat by 1 stage (including accuracy and evasiveness). Inconsistent cannot attempt to boost a stat at +6 or lower a stat at -6 (it can still lower +6 and raise -6, though).
Ok, THIS is bannable. Each turn it gets this. This is where I was misunderstanding. Not only is it a two stage boost in favor of one drop, it’s happening every turn, not just at entry. Luck incredibly in favor of good things occurring, and all the poke REALLY has to do is survive a few turns and baton pass to a good sweeper. I get it now.
You know, that’s one thing that I’m still on the fence about: OHKO bans. I can understand why to an extent. I still find it a decent balance that caused it AND evasion to be banned by banning one half. I just wish Gamefreak would’ve changed how these work. I think a good use would be to make it auto-lock-on but make it take two turns (at end of turn 2) and have it auto-miss on switch out. Would remove the whole “Summon Stadium Luck” factor as well as make it more useful in terms of forcing a switch, evasion or no.
But that’s just me.
