Remember when Weavile was actually being used to sweep teams? Nasty Plot Porygon Z with Adaptability was another, Nasty Plot once or twice and KO everything even Blissey.
Leadoff with Yanmega w/life orb. Put your counter to sleep and proceed to tear teams apart as they panic switch. Every Azelf ran the Nasty Plot set.
Switch Vire in any Blissey/Togekiss set because they all ran Twave for motor drive.
Use Hippowdon’s sand stream + Garchomp combo. Use subs+brightpowder along with SD so you can’t be hit 50% of the time to boost&sweep
Bro, I’m still finding ways to fit Porygon-Z onto teams cause the Porygon line is one of my favorites. Same with Empoleon, but he’s easier to fit into teams.
Weezing is a physical wall fit for OU.
Lead Azelf doesn’t exist.
Swords Dance Quick Attack Scizor.
Rhyperior in general.
Not on my teams. I couldn’t fit in Empoleon for the life of me, too many common weakness despite his typing.
More early D/P
No S/R/Suicide leads
"Cresselia is the new Blissey"
SpecsMence
Ice Shard Donphan, then people figured Mamoswine did it better
"Trick" was uncommon
Dugtrio OU
"Alakazam is going to sweep you"
Ice Fang Gyarados
Drill Peck Skarmory
I take natures and movesets into account and I was never really good at breding for moves but I got a little better in Gen 4 but I dont EV/IV train or anything.
Just kinda tiring when I actually try to battle and I get the whole “lol you dont ev? nothanks /trollface”
I used to be super-hardcore, but now I don’t particularly care when it comes to my wi-fi teams, and I do weird stuff with my Shoddy teams, so I guess I would classify myself as mostly casual as well.
I’ve been keeping up with the info coming out of Japan, and it looks like NONE of the new Pokemon are related to previous-gen beasts… so Luvdisc evo is NOT a Luvdisc evo, lol.
However, if rumors are true, we are going to be getting some VERY interesting type-combos and Pokemon this gen.
since gen 4 made it relatively easy to, I EV train. I don’t go for perfect in my EV training, but I’ll attempt to gear it towards what I want out of it. IVs… not so much. Too much of a hassle to warrant such a little difference. Natures and movesets I’ll focus on though.
competitively yeah you’re gonna have to ev train and all that to get the most outta your pokemon in battles, but ingame you could run pretty much anything.
the longest battle I had with someone was about 2 hours, SKARMBLISS vs SKARMCRESS, I never EV train anymore because the simulations do it for me (AR/Shoddy/etc)
