Should I be transferring all of my stuff to Soul Silver from Diamond?

Man it seems like it’s impossible for me to get a thunderstone. After doing some research it seems the only way I can get one on my own is if I keep doing the Pokathlon over and over… Why do they need to make it so tedious?!
Shinies are so much rarer in this game I think because you can’t Poke Radar chain em.

Is there an easy to transfer Pokemon from SS/HG back to Diamond/Pearl with only one DS? I feel like finally completing my National Dex
I’m pretty sure the only single-DS method of trading would be via GTS, which is both a gamble for the fact of someone snagging up what you offer before you can make a trade, and no good in your scenario since you need the poke in your dex anyway to trade via GTS.
FYI, for those who go pokethalon grinding: lazy man’s team of broke can be easily obtained in HG/SS and virtually a no-brainer: M2, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Moltres. Pick 3. All have a base stat sum of 19 and no stat lower than 3. Yeah, if you wanna go all out, you do Team Sunkern or Team Ditto and juice 'em up, but that takes work, even if they DO max out at 25…
My poor man’s team of Steelix, Meganium, and Dragonair do fine enough to tear through the Stamina Course like paper(watching Steelix treat other pokes like bowling pins on the ring drop game is hilarious, btw), netting a good 400 a pop with no effort. I figure I’ll go destruction mode when I get the above three.
