well they’re still doing tests apparently so i guess i shouldn’t have jumped the gun just yet. personally i don’t see a reason that latias should be uber, with all the scizors on 30% of teams and tyranitars, she’s countered quite easily. weavile also owns her for free if she stays in or switches. HOWEVER, i do think that salamence should be considered for uber. his stats, intimidate and typing make switching into him extremely hard unless of course it’s locked into an outrage. nothing can take a +1 life orb’ed outrage…even resisted outrages hurt a lot.

I’d rather not see Meance go, despite how good a late game sweeper he is. I was pretty upset that I couldn’t use my Garchomp in OU anymore, and had to force him on a uber team with virtually no slots

brongzong/forretress with stealth rock, spikes, toxic spikes + explodes
ursaring w/ flame orb+facade
set up with zong and foret, until stealth, spikes x2, toxic x2 are set up, then explode with both
then use 3 quick pokes to sleep enemies and just throw in ursa to one shot everything

latias should never have been NOT uber. I for one won’t miss it one bit, it’s just another poke that dominates too many teams and allows for less creativity. Every counter other than tyranitar, weavile, and scizor is basically ‘this counters it, unless it doesn’t, then you’re f’d’. It’s too strong, and too flexible, and while it does have 3 solid counters basically any team that doesn’t run those is going to have a real hard time with it. Mence isn’t even close to as bad, as powerful as he is, lots of stuff counter him, he doesn’t have recover or refresh, and most importantly rocks weakness, and a quad weakness that let’s him get insta gibbed.

I also hated fucking Latias. If you ever see a Scarftar and wonder why anyone would do that, think of Latias. Great typing, best STAB, levitate, sick speed, great bulk, it can learn trick and even recover… Why wouldn’t everyone use one? Its not weak to any entry hazard…
IIRC Smogons definition of a “counter” is a pokemon that can switch into the problem pokemon, and phaze it/deal with it.
With Latias having such good everything it makes it have amazing versatility. So much versatility that it can even beat its “counters” if they guess wrong, or the person with the Latias predicts right.

Tyranitar cant switch into surf even if he has the scarf since you outspeed with yours lol. Scizor get nailed by hp fire. Same for Weavile. Trick even makes sure to stop the Blissy counter. Thats just one great set too. Its specs set does massive damage, and can still trick. Also its life orb set is great with instant recovery to shrug off any damage it takes.
I hate this pokemon lol. It just shits in your cereal sometimes even when you prepare for it. It forces you to use a pursuiter to revenge kill it pretty much which is dumb.

what can you switch into a +1 life orb outrage safely? serious question here. outrage even dents steels very badly. so i’m not sure what you mean by that. the only thing that maybe comes to mind is registeel or steelix but neither are common in OU.
DDx1 Outrage + Orb can still dent steel, especially since most steel types aren’t particularly bulky. Steel types should still survive long enough for the confusion phase though, depends on the EV spread.
