The OFFICIAL Pokemon thread ver 2.5

I just went out and bought Pokmon Platinum.
I’ve only ever played Generation I (Red, Blue, Yellow).

So I do not know anything you guys are talking about in this Thread.
Will I have trouble playing my Generation IV game?
Laugh.

I bought Pokmon Platinum so I can go to GameStop tomorrow to get Jirachi.
I missed the GameStop Pichu, so would someone Trade to me?

No, what I’m saying is that we base many facts to try to pinpoint an inevitable conclusion. A fact is not a theory, nobody “magically” just defeats pokemon like that unless they have a sure anwser for it. In the case of Gyarados he is simply KO’d by electrical atks but you already stated that you do not run HP Electric on your Slowbro(s). Every trainer is different, but I’d bet my house most of them were not running Psychic in their sets and instead something of the likes to surfbeam. But that is irrelvant because apparently you DO run Psychic on your Slowbro(s), or it is just the matter of the need of dual stab. Take your pick I guess.

I do not underestimate the bulkiness that is bold Slowbro. I have one of my own, so why would I? The pokemon I mentioned was to only provide you with some examples to how hard OU pokemon actually hit for, and some of those AREN’T known for hitting at all (Ninjask, etc,) YET it is still SuperE, does that not cause some concern to you? I’m sure you’re already aware of that given the ingame experience you credit for, but there is a matter of being too overconfident. That’s what it seems like to me. It’s like your saying “Slowbro doesn’t mind getting hit by Megahorn” when he does. You give too much credit to being able to tank so easily in fast, hard hitting metagame that has evolved from the early stages. Why do you think Skarmbliss isn’t seen that much now? Why do you Cressy fell to UU? Why do you think SLOWBRO fell to UU? It’s a demand fast, powerful sweepers that can handle complex situations. Sure, Flygon was pushing it lol but he can still U-Turn out for SuperE damage and Scout your Slowbro’s moveset. Explosion on anything hurts like hell, and sets up an appropriate counter to take advantage of Slowbros pathetic speed. X2 DD Outrage is not something you can sit on, and the trainer could possibly have a lum berry in which I’VE seen happen before while trying to WoW them. You’re gonna sit on Breloom’s seed bomb and just keep “Slacking Off?” Lol, why doom yourself to the inveitable critical hit factor AND possibly allow Breloom to get a subs up while you heal off suspecting damage?

While you may think you have safe switch in pokemon ready for battle, the opponent may as well do also. Like I said, it comes down to who has the better favorable matches. Nobody cannot make a team and say they have counters for most if not the entire metagame.

? jdm714 I can trade you a Pichu

? the Slowbro discussion between magnifico/Fir was interesting. :coffee:

Hey, anyone wanna get a match? all clauses on

hey guys, i was always very casual into pokemon and never got into the strats of it
but now with HGSS coming out, i might actually want to make a nice team
can anyone recommend any moves to use for machamp, electivire, gengar and kingdra?
and what other 2 pokemon should i throw onto that team to make it more effective? thanks!

this helped me when I played

It sucks that you can’t do things like Berry Blending online (local wireless is fine, though). And has anyone else tried the wi-fi features in the Battle Frontier? How’s that work out for yas?

when does HGSS come out again? I always lose track of these things.

March 14. Only one week to go! :woot:

OOHHHH SHII TIME TO SAVE MY MoNIES

damn FFX13 too imma be broke this payday

I’m getting FF13 and RE5: Gold Edition this Tuesday plus Pokemon next Sunday. How I’ll find time to play all those games I have no clue. :looney:

Guru, I’ll Trade for the GameStop Pichu.
Do you want a Jirachi?

I have to find out how to do Trade first.
Laugh.

oh DAMN! that soon? sweet!

the last 2 pokemon depend on how you run the others. Electivire, gengar, and kingdra are all heavily offensive, so I’d recommend running a bulky’ish machamp. Something the sets up stealth rocks will be nice since it’ll allow electevire and gengar to one shot things they otherwise might not.

I’d recommend bronzong with stealth rocks and rain dance. Rain dance will let you run thunder on electivire(and maybe gengar) and make kingdra super fast. It also quad resists psychic which both gengar and machamp die to.

well i was thinking about throwing in foretress since i made that last post
and mismagius instead of electivire

so gengar, machamp, foretress, kingdra, mismagius… although rain dance does sound really good for kingdra and my thunder gengar
would it make sense to throw bronzong in there? have another tank, otherwise ill replace foretress with electivire or mamoswine maybe

Trying to make a semi-decent team while keeping my favorite pokemons.

Gengar
Honchkrow
Slowbro

…IDK, lol?

Come on guys, Pokemon, really? I got over this shit when I was 12.

eat a dick nigga

Sorry for having fun? It’s just a classic RPG that is really addicting.

Get over yourself.

Also, I’ve got the GBA ones on an emulator, but I’ve never played them from start to finish with out having all three starters (cause I grew up with 2 brothers and we always bought to copies.) and I don’t plan on starting now. Anyone know how to trade them on the emulator, or any other way of just getting them?

cheaaaaaaaaats
