A little more news on Platinum.
- Gengar gets Trick, Knock off and Icy Wind.
- Hypnosis’ accuracy is back to 60%! This has got me wondering how this will affect Platinum vs Diamond/Pearl battles. If it’s like the CB Pursuit glitch* of the Japanese Diamond/Pearl versions, the mechanics of the later games will override the older ones.
*Choice Band Pursuit glitch: In the Japanese versions, if you use Pursuit while holding a Choice Band (or any Choice item probably) and the opponents switches, you get to choose another move.

They seriously need to consider the Psychic, Fighting, or Dark as starting types. And make up their damn mind on Hyponsis already, I think it should be 70%.
Making it 60% will only mean more bitching whenever it hits.
(there was this one batrep ages back where he bitches about a paralysis the first turn of the game, but goes on to win off of like 3 crit hits.)
so im studying abroad in japan… we all went to osaka yesterday to look around… i had a good time, but when we went to this department store me and some guys had lunch and some beer instead of going shopping… on the way home i asked a girl what she bought… and she tells me the new pokemon game… damn… i didnt even realize it had come out. and now im looking around my area and it seems sold out, i still have a couple more places i can try to look for it. if i get it, i am soo going to geek out tonight. lol

Am I the only one that wonders how the metagame would be without Stealth Rock? Like a metagame where Charizard/Scyther can have more than a suicidal moveset to useful?

Yeah and it’s not like Sandstorm is rare with T-tar and Hippowdon everywhere.
Not just focus sashing, but the entire metagame would have another impact. Gyarados becomes more rampant, Hailstorm teams become more evident, etc.
They had talked about banning S/R on smogon before, and like Garchomp being moved to ubers I couldn’t believe it.

whats a good pokemon to use to get through the main game. im thinkin something like hitmonchan or maybe i can breed my medicham because they have elemental punches and would have decent coverage to rape the gyms. any suggestions?
