Also, this has been known for awhile but the Sinnoh Dex has been expanded from 150 (151 if you include Manaphy) to 210. And the base stats of Origin Forme Giratina, Sky Forme Shaymin and all of Rotom’s new formes are listed on the front page too.
I’d love to know people’s thoughts on these recent developments? I find it interesting that the new Rotom formes’ base stats now total 520 as opposed to the previous 440. It now ties with Flygon, Exeggutor, and Starmie for total base stats. Sky Forme Shaymin’s Speed is now 127 so only 9 Pokemon have a better base speed than it (All Deoxys except Deoxys-D, Ninjask, Electrode, Jotleon, Crobat, Aerodactyl, and Mewtwo.)
Man, I’d love to get into Pokmon, but as it stands now, I’m just not willing to pay full price for a DS.
I would start playing pokemon again just to play with that toastermon.
Sky Forme Shaymin’s stats are much more ridiculous than I imagined they’d be…fuck, the thing even has its own speed tier! I have a feeling that thing may be booted to Ubers shortly after it’s tested in OU…
I’m liking the defensiveness of these new Rotom forms.
Some other things that have been revealed:
Steelix gets Curse, and so does Bibarel (Heh, +2 Attack/Defense per turn!)
Darkrai gets Nasty Plot
Scizor gets (STAB, Technician) Bullet Punch
Shaymin gets Growth
Entei gets Eruption (too bad it only has base 90 Special Attack, huh?)
Too lazy to look for more

Drapion’s cool, Luxary is this versions Flareon. I wouldn’t mess with it, even for in-game.
What he said. Bascically both have an awesome Attack, shallow movepool and lackluster speed. Regardless, I’m still going to EV train my shiny Shinx. :razzy:
The movepool I can understand because most electric types are cursed with pathetic coverages. But for an electirc type it’s unusally slow, and it looks like it can run fast as hell.
About Luxray’s speed stat, in the Animu, Marble’s Luxray was way to fast, and it’s so slow in the game. Thing was moving at Jolteon speed and stuff.
^ Scizor had that same thing in Pokemon, it’s shown as super speedy in combat, even faster than Scyther.
Here’s hoping they’ll fix Luxray’s speed in the 5th generation. :wonder:
Something else I never got with Game Freak and Nintendo. Why do they wait 6-8 months after the Japan release of Pokemon games before they release it here in North America? Pokemon is Nintendo’s second most profitable IP after Mario! Lately, Mario games are released here no more than a month after the Japanese release. Don’t even say translation, because that’s bullshit. They could easily have a translation team work alongside them in the process. Fuck I thought they’d try to pump out a Christmas release but I guess that’s asking for too much. :rolleyes:
since I am a game tester now I assume it has to do with translations and no it’s NOT BS, and as such testing to make sure it all makes sense when redoing certain things? furthermore you have to make sure all attacks with names are all displayed correctly when doing it for all 493 pkmn. there is a SHIT TON to translate man.

wow luxray is this versions flareon? figures it would be the eevee evolution i never fucked with…i just wanted to get luxray because its an electric type. maybe magnezone?
anyway i was playing through r/s again getting pokemon ive never used when i was messing around with hariyama. i really like hariyama. hes hella slow but i think hes like r/b/y snorlax tank potiental except with a really high attack.
But with Diamond and Pearl already out, there shouldn’t be much to do this time right?
I’m not doubting there’s a lot to translate, I’m saying why do we have to wait so long? Here’s a great example. MGS4 was released WORLDWIDE on June 12th this year. If Konami can pull off a simultaneous release for a game with so much text to translate into at least English, Japanese, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Portugese, Korean and Russian PLUS English and Japanese voice overs why can’t Game Freak?

Scizor with Bullet Punch is too good, can’t wait to give that a run with technician. STAB + 80 Base + Good Priority.
Again, Gamefreak hates Flareon! (And fire poke in general)
