The Official PLAYSTATION® Thread: E3 - PS4 Pro November 10th $399

X would have been fucking awesome if Auron where the main character and Lulu was his bitch. Naw Xs cool and controlling Summons was indeed awesome but i hated the Sphere grid, Blitz Ball was disappointing and I didn’t get into the Narrative as much as I thought I would.

Blitzball is a billion times better if you hire Brother and turn off auto (set it to manual). I loved the SG. My favorite level-up system. Wish I got to play the expert version though. And kill Penance.

Naw Blitzball bored me. If it means anything tho i havn’t enjoyed one of those style of FF Mini Games since Triple Triad anyway. Sphere Grid drove me insane.

Best things about X if you ask me were Auron, Wakka’s stupid hair, and the soundtrack. The whole water polo playing Meg Ryan versus his giant whale dad just didn’t resonate with me.

Seriously, Tidus is one of the most irritating main characters the series has ever witnessed and I didn’t care for his cause a lot because he just grated my nerves so much. Yuna was flat and boring, Rikku needed Ritalin, Kimarhi and Lulu were pointless, and the villain was laughable.

Ok but the battle system was a bit fun.

The cast was actually very well developed.
It had the greatest battle/summon system.

I’ll go just go back to FFV… the one time forgot.

Sometimes I wonder to myself, “Why don’t I play objective game modes in shooters much?”

And then I realize that half the people who actually play them are just guys who just use the mode to pad stats by being counter-productive to the objective (case in point: playing UC3 beta, Plunder on Chateau, and when we were up 4-1, some people on my team would keep tossing around the treasure when it was near our base not to the treasure chest. When I got an inch to the treasure chest, an ally decided to blow me up with a grenade. So instead of winning the game with 8 minutes left to spare, I finally put the treasure in…with a minute left. Thanks, assholes.), or just play it like TDM.

Hahaha right? No one ever talks about V. V is awesome.

Who cared about V after we just played Star Wars?

My favorite is FFIX but I just cant get into rpgs anymore. Ive tried to play them, several of them, but I lose interest after a few hours or so. They’re just not so fun to me as they use to be. Ive almost bought 9 a couple times to play on my psp but I know I wont ever play it and it would be a waste of money. lol Coming from the guy that just purchased 30 or so games, most of witch I wont touch for a very long time, that sounds kinda silly.

ps3 thread turns into ff thread again.

13 is really fun. as long as you ignore the story, voice actors, and its lack of rpg elements.

the battles were great. the system is pretty robust and fast paced. because it is so fast paced, you have more strategy than just leveling up and blowing through everyone. you need to take your team into consideration, which combinations would be useful to you. there are tons of little niche things with the battle system that make it so fun… and then when you get to gran pulse, the game gets pretty amazing. it is less of a rpg and more of a strategy/battle game, which i think is fine. if it wasn’t an FF game, it would have gotten a better reception.

but then people like ff8, which was the exact opposite of ff13. it was all story, the battle system sucked, and was more of an rpg than 13 was, but it sucked where it counts. but for some reason people loved it. in my opinion, it was one of the worst rpg’s i’ve ever invested time into.

i figure there are 2 major types of FF people in this world: those people who find ff8 to be a good game and those that found 13 to be fun.

i wouldn’t say 13 is a good game, but its really fun.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but PSN is finally getting Castlevania Harmony of Despair (a year later, but I’ll take it) Also “New to the PlayStation 3 version is a four-player local co-op mode, as well as the inclusion of the “Beauty, Desire, Situation Dire” map pack, which was previously a separate purchase.”

I remember playing that on a friend’s 360 and thought it was just okay. But since this release is actually getting local co-op (which should have been there initially but whatever), it could be fun on a rainy day.

^Someone posted about it before you a page or 2 ago ;3

FF5 is cool. Apparently the GBA translation is the closest to how the JP ver. is; i.e. it’s humerous.

Oh and you don’t really need to grind in FF13: If you know what you’re doing and use your paradigms accordingly, you should be able to pass the harder/more tedious points in the game with little difficulty.
Also, Random: Instant Chain, gotta love it~

The Downfall of Scott Pilgrim

damn. I didn’t look too well, because I didn’t want to sift through the bi-monthly final fantasy discussion. lol

I wish it didn;t take so long to get to Gran Pulse tho cuz the combat is indeed really cool and fun.

Scored a copy of Vanquish today for $20! Finally I can get around to playing through this gem.

Anyone get into that Journey beta? The game looks really cool, I hope it comes out this year.

Damn you! I’m looking for copies myself and I come across 60 dollar ones. I’m like wtf.
