The Official PLAYSTATION® Thread: E3 - PS4 Pro November 10th $399

What is this “good liar” of which you imply?

Spent from my Ocho, using Fapatalk.

wasn’t informed about LA Noire but if you had vanilla but plan on getting the CE, then know that the save files are not compatible, but keep all trophies intact. no patch for it either. ironically, RDR/CE does not have this issue. I had another issue with GTAIV, brother gave me the game then I saw the CE version. Got it, but you can’t progress with old save files and trophies wont unlock. might just leave RS games alone. don’t have time for this crap.

luckily, Gamestop had the 50% extra on all trade-ins so despite getting LAN:CE for $20, I got my “money” back via trade.

I even returned Saints Row 3 for the new Assassins Creed for $30 and got $10 dollars back, lol.

best part, guaranteed $30 for trade-in on AC until 1/14/12.

Me in the mafia game

Might stream Arkham City challenges tonight. This game is most def my game of the year. Uncharted 3 is runner up.

Uncharted 3 doesn’t deserve it. Pick something else.

Yeah! Why don’t you stream Pocahontas for the Sega Genesis, piece of shit!!

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the BLUE CORN MOOOOOOOOONNN?

  • Or asked the grinning bobcat why he FUCKIN’ grinned?*

Damnit I missed the stream…

Ah well… C’est la vie…

Unless you didn’t stream… then all is right with the world…

His streams are archived aren’t they?

They are.

US PS Store should’ve updated by now.
Klonoa has been added along with Stranger’s Wrath HD.

I also recommend trying out Bulletstorm, it’s one of the few FPS games I liked and it’s gameplay is pretty fun IMO.
Only thing that would displease some players is the profanity, but somehow I ended up being fine with it (if they ever make a sequel tone it down please…).

I really liked Bulletstorm when i played it at the beginning of the year. It’s a lot of fun, really goofy, and the guns are pretty creative and unique. I love the alt firing modes. I found the high profanity use pretty funny, especially some of the rather childish insults. The General dude was especially hilarious in a 10 year old sort of way.

With that said i wouldn’t mind if they toned the profanity down a bit.

I tried the Bulletstorm demo, it was a lot of fun.

But yeah, I agree about the whole profanity thing. I mean I shouldn’t even be talking about this with the kind of mouth I’ve got, hahaha, but honestly in a video game it can really be a bit much especially if an F bomb is dropped for no other purpose than to make the muscle-bound protagonist seem more pumped full of testosterone. That kind of [S]shit[/S] stuff (lol) can be annoying.

At least in games like Red Dead Redemption the profanity works in the context of the situation.

It’s like that with a lot of things. If characters curse too much, it takes magic out of curse words and makes it seem like they’re trying to be “edgy”.

This isn’t just scripted entertainment either. I liked Katt Williams (standup comedian) back when he was sane, but boy did he swear a lot for next to no reason in his specials.

So what Trophy level are you guys at?
I’m Lvl. 17 atm and at 44%:

One thing that surprised me was how some players had maybe 30-40 Platinums but were as the same level as me or lower. From what was explained to me, it’s because I had more Bronze trophies (Bronze= 15 pts, Silver= 30, Gold= 90 and Plat= 180). So 40*180= 7200, which is equal to 480 Bronze trophies

I’m still not into the whole trophy thing. I still don’t get it and I actually hate them when I found out people buy games based on how easy the trophies are to attain.

I see this trophy system as a way to circumvent making games worth replaying and 100%ing by using a gold star sticker reward system, coaxing players to replay a game they wouldn’t have otherwise. In the same vein as DLC, it could’ve been really good because it’s a good idea but many took the lazy route.

Of course it is.

But don’t tell the new kids.

They don’t like to be told they’re dumb.

…ergo they’re both dumb AND ignorant.

Oh hey, have you guys heard of a “high score” system in these new-fangled video games? Did you know that that system is only in there to give a false sense of replay value?

Fuck Pac-Man, Mario, Donkey Kong, every shmup in history, Mortal Kombat arcade for having a “most wins in a row” screen, etc etc etc. If they just made their games better, they wouldn’t need that misleading bullshit, emirite?

But seriously though - there’s nothing wrong with liking different things. Contrary to what you seem to believe, it doesn’t necessarily make someone an idiot for enjoying something that you don’t.

Wow.

Somebody is a liiiiiiiil sensitive, isn’t he?

Most people who have played games for a while now, say a console gen or two at least, enjoy, y’know, PLAYING GAMES.

This usually entailed beating the game itself, by playing the game itself, or bettering one’s personal high score or their opponent’s high score… by playing the game itself.

Objectives that take time out of the experience of enjoying playing the game itself by playing the game itself, in order to complete some arbitrary bullshit that is well outside of the parameters of the game itself (e.g. kill x number of y with z), for a gold star, does not constitute playing a game.

It’s a chore for some incredibly stupid measure of e-peen.

Didn’t stream. Had to prepare for a podcast I’ve been invited to.

Except that people have been doing that without “achievements” since the beginning of the very concept of competition, as it were. Kill counts scratched into weapons, all the way up to perfect runs in shmups/run’n’guns, for example.

Like I said: it’s as simple as “different people enjoy different things”. If you think that somehow makes them idiots or inferior to you in any way, then you’ve got bigger shit to worry about than video games.

I personally like when games have extra things for me to do. Dead Space was, to me, a good example - it got me to use guns that I wouldn’t normally use, and play the game a different way to get a few extra trophies, after I had already played through the game. Sure, maybe you want to call it false replay value - that’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it. However, I was going to replay the game anyway, and just altered the way I did it the second time. Another was the Metroid easter egg in Singularity. Previously that would been just that - an easter egg that some people would have found, and some would have missed. Does it really upset you so much that it now tells other people that you found that secret?

(e-peen? Is that like when you go online and try to pretend you’re better than someone because they like different things than you?)

Today is Godhand day…

Bout to buy that right now… too bad I don’t have SWBeta’s gdlk connection speed…

AT LEAST I CAN APPRECIATE A GOOD BEAT 'EM UP:mad:
