damn. when sony said the welcome back package was available “through july 3,” i didn’t think it’d be taken down before midnight of that day. it’s 9:15 PM EST and i’m not seeing it.
Well I’ll be a Moose’s uncle. Damn. The only reason I’m not surprised about Batman: AA using the Unreal engine is because I just finished it and remember the logo in the beginning.
It’s interesting. I’ve been playing the demo too. The only thing I would love is if they had better pop up HUD instructions or something when you buy and spawn in a vehicle since they can be quite expensive to buy and by the time you figure out how to control and navigate it’s been blown up. Other than that, it’s pretty fun and something slightly different than the standard FPS right now.
*edit - I fail at quoting, apparently.
Million,
You getting EDF for 360?
A few things guys-
1- Welcome Back has been extended til July 5th: https://twitter.com/#!/PlayStation/statuses/87772948462702592

just read EDF is coming out on Tuesday. a friend of mine showed it to me before and I can’t wait for it. should be fun

Holy fuck, they still don’t got PSN?
Jeez =/
yeah, japanese government was shitting on them hard. i think the paying public ended up shitting on the government really hard because of that.
japan wanted sony to prove that they could win back consumer confidence, so what they did was not allow sony to do business… which is completely backwards. but that country’s government isn’t much smarter than our own…
anyways… good for japan. i wish i still had my old jpn account info…

It amazes me that there were people complaining Sony took down the Welcome Back pack a little earlier than expected.
Sheeeeit,
I didn’t even know the new EDF was coming to ps3. I’m already set on getting it for “that other system” though. I prefer getting multiplayer stuff on that if it’s released for both systems, simply because I have a larger friend list on there.
*I must get back to my Dead Nation 2nd high score run today… it’s on Grim difficulty again, and it’s already a much better start. I’m only just now realizing a few other things in terms of points… like at the very start of the game, there’s a car with an active alarm down on the street level. You can actually set that off since the characters start with 1 grenade. Toss that from the edge (upper left) of the first building…the alarm will go off and attract zombies…car blows up = POINTS. Also, of course it’s better to kill zombies when they are a bit close to you whenever you can get away with it, since the multiplier orbs released start off as a 2x, but they shrink to 1x if you take too long to get it…in a game with several stages of zombies that number into the thousands…of course that adds up quickly if you’re getting 2x more often with each kill…(*with the big “boss” type zombies being worth more)
I read on cheapassgamer, Bestbuy will be having a B2G1 starting on 7/10. Kind of a drought of games until October, so i doubt I will pick up anything. $40 is even too much for some of those titles for me.
This week they do have Fallout New Vegas for $10, that I will cop hopefully in the way to work before they sale out.
Hows Shadow of the Damned?
Also, if you plan on getting No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise. Get it off Amazon because they’re selling it for 40… I haven’t checked anywhere else but the MSRP for it at gamestop is 60. Which is ridiculous.
Saw the quicklook for the Uncharted beta. Damn that looks fun. I know I’ll get killed, but I’ve got to try this. How many of you are on it as well?
Rampage, I’ll add your contributions to the 1st post a few hours from now. Thanks.
I was MIA from SRK this weekend… got my hardcore basement dweller on and played FFXI the entire weekend. SO GOOD™

I think that should cover your answer…
Back from Vegas. Not sure if it has been touched up on yet, but there’s new content in the Uncharted 3 beta available to play now. The update went live yesterday at like 3 pm PST or something. Doesn’t require you to download a patch or anything either. Just jump into the Matchmaking menu and you’ll see 2 new modes: Co-op Hunter and Team Objectives.
I’ve listed the details of both modes below. Will update later if I find mistakes.
**Co-op Hunter(4 players; 2v2+): **
[details=Spoiler]Heroes: This team consists only of two players who must capture multiple treasures across the map. There’s usually about 3 or 4 treasures just sitting around on the map at once, so you can be picky; they don’t need to be done in any specific order. When you pick up the treasure, you have to take it to the corresponding chest, which will begin blinking to guide you to it. It’s pretty straightforward, really. You and your partner just keep cashing in as many treasures as you can while wading through enemies. You also have unlimited lives, so you can get a little reckless if you want.
Villains: The villain team consists of 2 players as well. However, these 2 players are aided by an unlimited amount of AI enemies for the Heroes to struggle against. When you’re on the villain’s side, you have a choice of what class to spawn as, determined by the amount of medals you have earned in the match. The more medals you have, the more variety you have in terms of character class. You can be anything from a basic pistol type, to an armored shotgun type(Fun!). The class of villain you choose will determine your weapons, as well as your health. You’ll always start at the bottom and have to earn some medals before you can pick one with better armor and weapons, but with your partner and team of AI, it’s not so hard to level up. Your mission is pretty simple: Fuck shit up. You don’t have to worry about cashing in treasures, collecting anything, etc., just kill the Heroes. Stop them from scoring as best you can and keep them on the run. Get in their face and don’t let them breathe. The rounds run on a time limit, so all you have to do is try to keep the Hero team from scoring as much as possible till time runs out.
After the round ends(I think it’s 5 minutes or so), players switch sides; Villains become Heroes and vice versa. Thus round 2 begins. After round 2 is over, whichever team managed to cash in the most treasure wins.[/details]
Team Objectives(10 Players; 5v5):
[details=Spoiler]Two teams go to war with each other in a series of different objectives as they change with each round. The team with the most points in the end will be declared the winner. I’ll be brief with the objectives listed below.
[]Chain Reaction: A zone-capture type game mode. One team starts at zone 1 while the opposing team starts at zone 5. To capture a zone, simply stand inside the lighted area until the progress bar is filled. Once captured, the zone will glow green and you can move onto the next zone displayed. Capture all 5 zones to win the round. Keep in mind that you don’t need to have your whole team to capture a single zone; as long as at least 1 of your teammates is capturing, the others can branch out and get ready to capture the next zone. Also, you can interrupt the enemy team from capturing a zone by either killing them from a distance, or by jumping into the same zone they are currently trying to capture. This will automatically stop the progress bar until only one team remains in the zone, so kill them off and stay in the zone to capture it for your team.

[]King of the Hill: Get to the designated zone and defend it as long as you can from the other team. Points are given as long as your team maintains control over the zone. If you are killed and none of your teammates are left inside the zone, it will reset and allow the opposing team to capture it for themselves. I think this mode goes up to around 200 points, so you’ll have time to recapture the point if you lose it. Also, more points are given depending on how many of your teammates are in the zone, so it’s recommended that your entire team remains inside the zone at all times. Winning team is determined by whoever reaches the point mark first, or by whichever team has the most points when time runs out.

[]Multi Marked Man: A member of each team is chosen at random to be the marked man. Kill the marked man on the opposing team to gain points. Winner is determined by whichever team kills the most marked targets when time runs out, or if the team reaches the point mark(I think it’s 5).

[]Deathmatch: Standard team deathmatch. Kill as many of the opposing team members to gain points. Kills count as 10 points each, and the cap is 100 points, so the first team to get 10 kills wins the round.

**Treasure Hunter(I think?): **In this mode, a golden idol will appear somewhere on the map. There’s nowhere in particular that you have to take it; just hang onto it as long as you can. Points are given as long as one team possesses the treasure, so take it and try to get somewhere safe while your team defends you. The treasure must be in your hands at all times if you want to gain points for your team. Simply standing next to it or protecting it won’t gain you anything; someone has to be holding it. You can also use your pistol while holding the idol if you must defend yourself. I forget the point cap on this mode, so I’ll update it when I play later today. Same rules apply as any other mode, really. Reach the cap first(it will be displayed at the top of your screen), and your team wins. Or, whichever team has the most points when time is up wins.[/details]
