Nice catch, man. It actually slipped past me since I was thinking that my 40" Bravia is just right.
Fuck that, go big or go home.
I have a 42" Panasonic plasma, and will get a 50" whenever I upgrade it.
I had a 32" Bravia LCD before, and got immune to the size quick. Bought the plasma a couple years later.
Like Radiant is saying, it depends on your seating location. 50" in my bedroom, would be too fucking big, but in the living room, probably just right.
haha Living Room meaning your BUTT right.
GAY.
first my avatar, and now this?
I think I’m turning gay sad face
wtf. the bigger the tv the better. go nuts. get a bunch 70’’ tvs and put them together like that kid in blank check.
honestly, i can see being too big if your room is small… the ps tv is probably for this purpose. cheap entry level into 3d for people who otherwise don’t have 3d options.
sony is pretty much all in with this 3d thing, so it make sense they take all the 3d displays that aren’t selling in stores and attaching it to a brand that actually makes money. one of the smarter moves sony has done… they have been very reluctant in the past to mix their own departments for some reason in the past… it could be a step in the right direction, especially for fanboys.
As I continue playing the UC3 beta, things are starting to… well, irk me in a way. These are just my opinions so far.
Power Plays: Does every game really need to have a comeback factor now? The VIP one is okay, but the other two, double damage and see the other team "aka Team Situational Awareness, are two really unnecessary things for multiplayer. Also, Power Plays last way too long. I could understand 20 seconds or so, but it gets frustrating when you’re winning 30 - 16 and then after the Power Play is gone, you’re tied or losing because the other team can see you. Hell, I’ve seen Power Plays go one after another in games.
Overtime: This one makes me salty. I admit it. Nothing is worse than just pulling out a victory to 50, after a large comeback, and then the round goes to overtime and you have to battle more which increases the chances of you losing. What makes this bad for me is that I’m at times on teams where some players are not really performing well and just around 30 minutes ago my team pulled back up to tie at 49-49. I get the last kill with my trusty GMAL, and as soon as I’m about to celebrate the win, I go “yeeea… what? Overtime?” and watch as my team gets decimated in the extra time and lose. This seems to happen at random too. If the game is to 50, why can’t it just be to 50?
That’s my little UC3 rant.
i actually think the VIP powerplay is the worst one. 2 kills per vip, and they are marked? usually you get your entire team to defend you, which means when you die, the rest of your team is in battle, meaning you get to spawn by yourself (still marked) left to fend off more attacks. it has the biggest comeback factor, and just doesn’t play out well in real gameplay. not to mention you team gets to try to fend off an all out assault, which is just bonus points.
the double damage and marked don’t really matter much to me. if you’re marked, that’s just more battles. they also need to be within a certain distance, so its possible to wait it out with it even being a factor. double damage is worse, but its not like it changes the core gameplay too much. they still need to shoot you, and there’s no markers. easy enough to wait out, and doesn’t really change the game up to the point where it swings scores 5-6 points unless your team just gets run through mercilessly.
VIP you can’t really wait out except to hunker down and pray the other team is incapable of mounting a meaningful offense. it has the biggest swing factor for the least amount of effort. thank god it is the shortest power play, but you’ll often see 2-3 kills on a VIP depending on how good the team is.

Alright so I haven’t bought a new game since Demon’s Souls which was like a year ago so I’m thinking it’s time for some new games.
I’ve got my eye on Just Cause 2 and Darksiders 'cause they’re pretty cheap right now and are apparently really good games with a lot of content. Can anyone vouch for these?
I can vouch for Darksiders, VERY good Zelda-ish/God of War-ish game.
That sounds pretty badass. Is it long? By long I mean 8 hour+ campaign with perhaps side missions or any other kind of bonus content like arena modes and whatnot? I’m a sucker for bonus modes but if the game’s long enough I don’t really mind if it doesn’t have any such content.
I think its fairly long, I haven’t beaten it yet but I’ve just beaten the 1st dungeon and felt like I barely even scratched the surface. Definitely longer than 8+ hours. You can upgrade your weapons, abilities and all that. I haven’t came across any side-missions yet (if there are any) but the main game is long/entertaining enough. It’s definitely worth your $18, lol.
Power Plays and all that stuff are kind of annoying, but I’m mad it still takes so much goddamn effort to kill every single enemy you come across. People have a lot of health and the turn sensitivity (even at the highest setting) is so goddamn slow that them actually running from you is a viable option. This sword cuts both ways and I have escaped many a death by simply getting out of dodge, but… ugh. If they would just fix the turn sensitivity, things would be more tolerable.
@mowr- Just Cause 2 is very good I hear. IIRC, it’s sandbox; if you don’t have a problem with that, you may be able to enjoy the game.
Got a question for those that played Star Ocean 4: Does the game have a difficulty setting? If so, does beating it on the highest difficulty award you the trophies for beating the game in Easy and Normal (like what Uncharted does)?
Well, I got a $20 PSN card the other day and I’m contemplating on what to buy with it.
Anyone here played Tecmo Bowl Throwback? That was one that I looking into getting but I’m not 100% sold on it.
Darksiders doesn’t really have any side quests but it has stuff to find like the Abyssal Armour pieces. It’s a pretty long game and its fun.
Tecmo Bowl Throwback is great, it plays just like the old SNES game. I forgot which roster set it is using, early 90s though. I don’t play it now, but had fun playing it for a few weeks.
Finally opened my copy of Two Worlds II. Battle system sucks ass, it is pretty bad for melee. I better figure out quickly how to use the magic effectively.
The game is an Action/RPG with more emphasis on questing over anything else. Graphics are okay, but I hate the motion blur it uses when you turn fast.
I read single player campaign is 30+ hours, plus it has an online co-op campaign which is separate and it is 10+ hours.
It is about a 7 to me. I can play it though because I do like questing, but wish the battle system was tighter. The battle system is like Demon’s Souls, but a bastardized broken version of it.
Cool shit, so Darksiders is a dead cert then, and I’ve heard nothing but praise from the fans of Just Cause 2. Thanks brobocops.
whats peoples opinion of homefront? im playing the demo right now
People where hype for it but then it came out and i remember mixed opinions and it didn’t seem to last long. Campaign was nonexistant and Multi-Play had lag and match up issues or something. I remember people being disappointed.
