$5 per character for costumes?
Please don’t tell me people are this stupid into buying something that ridiculous. It only encourages them to do more dumb shit like that in the future.
$5 per character for one costume. They had three costumes each, 500 yen, 300 yen, 300 yen. So the set of 3 costumes for one character was 1100.

Actually they have two more costumes. You aren’t even paying for the fucking set of swimsuit or butler outfits, but the fucking individual butler outfits.
eh… kousuke fujishima is a character design god. outside of oh! great, i can’t think of a manga artist that puts nearly as much effort into design intricacies.
i think his tales designs are usually dumbed down depending on the platform they are being developed on (if you’re dealing with wii, you can’t get crazy since lower resolution forces you to use larger blank areas so shapes read correctly). but even then, he does a good job with them, before they get rescaled for the games to ugly proportions.
i think sony smash brothers could be okay. but it won’t be great since its a straight rip off. i think the idea is good, the execution is going to be flavorless like most knockoffs though. here’s hoping they find their own footing and find its own path.
I guess I should say that I like the look of the Tales characters in the intros to those games (They tend to be so well animated to) but once the game itself starts, the 5 year oldness of the characters kicks in, and the gameplay feeling kinda clusterfuck-y, I lose interest. I’ve never really given them a very honest shot either tho, I don;t get into JRPGs like I used to. Last one i really enjoyed was Valkyrie Profile 2 and that was due to a combination of a great abilities system, awesome combat, and a deep love for anything with Norse Myth ties.
I’ve never read anything Kousike Fujishima has done penciling for so I can’t comment on his work in that medium. Does he only do the art or has he written something to?

No, lets NOT voice our concerns among peers who then may collectively send a message with their wallets to Namco that they will not buy overprices DLC, who may then possibly reconsider pricing. Nah, lets just say NOTHING.
I can never understand why people like you get so snappy when someone complains about DLC pricing. Is Namco paying you a percentge of their DLC sales?
I apologize: that is a very simple minded concept, and yeah some DLC can be overpriced (lookin’ at you 15-ish dollar epilogues of Castlevania: LoS).
The way I’ve always seen is if there is game content that I may want, I first check up on and if I like it I get it, otherwise I leave it be (sorry DeadPOUCHES but I ain’t getting you anytime soon on account of not having UMvC3 to begin with).
Wouldn’t contacting Namco, or posting about it in a Tales forum hosted/viewable by Namco be much easier to get the message?
Besides, wouldn’t DLC seems more or less as additional revenue seperate from the main game’s revenue/income?

Make your character look like a maid, a butler, or have a swimsuit.
Swimsuit is bullshit since swimsuit costumes have traditionally been something you unlocked while playing the game.

I’m also guessing that the costume is for only THAT character. if another character wants to wear the same one, you’ll have to buy for that one as well. No thanks. That’s too much. They’ll drop that price at some point.

But Namco might not be crazy, they might have all the PS3 DLC available for the US already. Anyway, the Graces content isn’t as extortionary as Xillia which may or may not even come out, depending on how graces does.
