And other stages are just walking around in a city, or a back alley in london, or the inside of a room. It isn’t bad design, those chapters just look straight-up worse than anything else.
A shame that this game was rushed.
Your TV must really be bad, if you think it looked like “shit”. I will say the first few stages definitely did not look like the best of UC2, but I play many games that look worse.
This week I will pick up the MGS collection and you bet all 3 games will look much worse than UC3, shame they were rushed.
MGS HD collection better look worse considering its just upscaled.
Point being, everything ain’t about the graphics, and Uncharted 3 has so of the best graphics and people still complaining about it. I don’t get it. Same people that complain about bad games and keep playing them. Eject the disc and play something else. What is the purpose unless you are getting paid to play a game and moan about it?
so i found out the issue with the wireless headphones getting artifacts and weird feedback.
apparently, 2.4 is a bad frequency to have a wireless headset on when your ps3 is also connected through a wireless connection. also, having a crt directly between the two is also no good. i also have like… 5 things in my room connected to the wireless connection, but the ps3 is the only one that directly interferes with it. can’t even watch netflix with the headset on, it just gets connection errors and all sorts of bs.
$3 usb extension cable fixed all the problems. cept now i got a dongle attached to a long ass cord… soooo wireless…
Dang, that sucks. I heard about that. I don’t have any cordless phones, so it didn’t really mess with me.
I have a wireless router, a Roku, and two laptops that are all connected, but haven’t interfered yet with my headphones.
Dayday, boot up 8 or 9 and look at the character models and animation.
Then go to chapter 10 and look. I didn’t check the contrast with earlier chapters against 8/9, but the difference there is very plain.
I’m not hating on the game unreasonably, but when I read that they couldn’t add the bonus cheats and shit because the stages got fucked up and they didn’t have time to fix it, then how am I supposed to feel? I was extremely hyped for this game, and it makes me upset knowing that with another three or so months they’d have been able to make it perfect instead of just almost.
WHAT!? They didn’t add the cheats and alt costumes for SP because they didn’t want to fix it? Now im mad.
I let someone borrow it. I know every level doesn’t look the same, because different people worked on different levels. I’m sure some levels were completed a couple months ago, while some where over a year ago. To say it looks like shit is a bit much. I remember when Uncharted 1 came out it was jaw dropping, and then 2 came out a crushed it. That doesn’t mean that Uncharted 1 looks like shit.
If you go back and check my posts from over a week ago, I said the graphics are not the same throughout the whole game. I said the graphics picked up after Chapter 3 and even said it looked worse than UC2. Maybe it dipped back down in 8 & 9, but I didn’t notice because I was playing and after the beginning of the game you aren’t walking much.

I tried after I beat it, but it said Another Go Round and it started from Chapter 1. I hit multiple buttons and only response was game starting.
i’m starting u3 right now. hard difficulty. cuz that’s how you should roll.
Yeah, I wish I knew how easy the game was ahead of time. There is way more scripted events, that even if you die the first time, the second time you won’t. Like in one level there is a ladder and as soon as you approach it a grenade comes down it, and it didn’t have the green gauge to throw it back and I took some damage. I then went to climb the ladder and received a clip of ammo in my mouth and died.
Right now I’m playing Lord of the Rings:War in the North, it’s alright. I paid $30 for it because I had those Kmart coupons. The game is fun, but far from perfect. Sound skips a lot, Stabby & Joshkaz would hate the graphics.
Gameplay is good. It is an action RPG with loot. You control 1 character out of 3 and can switch between them at the world map area. You can also play online or couch co-op, but no duplicate characters. One has to be the Human Ranger, Dwarf, or Female Elf Loremaster. You have all kinds of gear, and it can be damaged and you will have to find somebody to repair it, which I have now, or switch it out with new gear you find or buy, which I was doing the first 4 hours.
It is made by Snowblind Studios, which made Balder’s Gate & Champions Of Norrath for PS2. The game is far from polished, and could have used another 6 months I guess of development time. It was already delayed from a summer release, must have been broken back then.:wgrin:
Never said I hated UC3 graphics. Said UC3 had the least impressive old castle type level i’ve ever seen.
u1 and u2 difficulties were scaled pretty easy. easier for japanese versions. hard is cool for some resistance, but Crushing is where you get to test yourself. hard is where you get to enjoy the game (story and gameplay), and crushing is usually where i do my treasure playthroughs along with finishing up any of the other achievements…
My wife got me the sony headset for my birthday. Ive never had one before, its pretty ganster and really good sound quality!

i know im in the minority, but i think shadows of the damned is a REALLY good game and overlooked. i dont think it’s game of the year contender but it’s definitely top 5 for me. the game is worth a playthrough for the music itself, as it demonstrates just what it means to have good music in a videogame. plus it’s vision is really fresh and it’s writing is surprisingly very clever. games these dont come around often.
