The Official PLAYSTATION® Thread: E3 - PS4 Pro November 10th $399

Yeah, after we won that last game my system froze and I just went to eat something. Seems like Uzi is the gun of choice. You were beasting. Seems like you got the game down pat

Damn that sucks. I haven’t frozen for quite some time now, though my system still restarts itself after I try quitting the beta. And thank you very much! I have the unfair advantage of being around since the closed beta of Uncharted 2 and leading the boards for a few months. The experience is proving very valuable indeed xD And yeah, the Uzi is a great weapon! Run around with that and try to get in close. Just blindfire up close for a second and punch. Drops people like a sack of bricks before they even know what the hell happened.

@GomuGomu: I agree that smokebomb is broken as all hell lol I haven’t tried Speedy G before but I’m considering it, since you can probably use it the way Fleet Foot worked in Uncharted 2. Made you really hard to shoot when you just aimed down the sights while strafing left and right. Pisses a lot of people off. Try that next time lol makes you really hard to hit.

A friend of mine invited me to a party in U3 earlier but when I selected his invite to join it would just make the clicking noise and nothing would happen. Has this been a problem for anyone else? Or maybe I’m worse at the menus then I am at the actual game.

Hmm this might be a problem for others but I’m not sure. I just go to my friend list on the menu and join from there. Try that if you’re still having problems accepting invites.

When I had this issue with SF ages ago, that was how I was able to get into game. I guess its a patch they need to create but probably won’t bother to do so since this is the beta.

You never know, they already released a small patch for the beta…

this beta is pretty fun. if there was an issue i did have with it is that both levels are almost completely wide open, making them essentially devoid of chokepoints.

i guess its good, because it encourages team play and aggressive play, but at the same time, you’re never safe from some guy coming up behind you and blowing up your shit… there’s at least 4 ways into every room, multiple ways to break up any defensive strategy… its definitely more fun knowing that its basically 5 guys trading bullets with 5 other guys, but it feels more twitch rewarding than strategically rewarding.

maybe i’m wrong…

you have got to be shitting me, i literally just got that game yesterday. I would of loved to have it on ps3 (i hate the 360 controller)

…fugg it, ill buy it again >_>

You guys should have a look at Journey. Interesting game.

I saw someone post a video of that Trinity game, how is it? Im thinking about picking it up…I played the demo, seemed interesting…

I’m very interested in it. I liked Flower a lot, though, so maybe that explains why.

So, I was actually compiling a list of 3D-enabled games for PS3, and then the PS Blog puts one out the same day. FUUUU. I guess I should be thankful that they did all the work for me, except that I had like 80% of these already.

Anyway, Ess-Dub, any chance you could add something to the OP to list this? Maybe just the game and PSN downloadable sections, with a link to the Blu-ray.com/3D page for reference for disc-based movies? I think it could be beneficial, as 3D seems to actually be growing this time.

Damn long list!

Know what’s fun? Going to the Chatteu level and holding up in the top floor with the zipline. From the zipline platform, you can stay behind this small wall and you’re practically invisible to anyone coming upstairs from any direction. You can just sit there and pick everyone off that comes up since you have a view of all entrences. It’s even better if you have a team with you because then one can watch the hallway, another can watch out for people trying to climb up from the makeshift ladder, and another can watch the more open area. Also, you can have someone stand by the treasure chest up there to watch beneath the zipline platform since there’s a mid-level people can climb up too that would be directly below you. Whenever I feel like being a douche, me and my team just fortify that area and tear people up. Our team went like 50-9 up there yesterday. And in 3v3v3, we went 20-2-4. It’s pretty managable up there if you have a good teammate or 2. If the heat is too much up there and you need a way out, time to play batman and hit that zipline. It’s a lot of fun xD Not sure if that was the kinda strategy you were looking for.

Also, if anyone starts trying to fortify that place against you and you want a way up, try climbing onto the mid-level platform. From the outside wall, you’ll see that small window below the zipline. Jump up there and then follow to the inside of the structure. You’ll see the makeshift ladder directly ahead of you but don’t use it. While you’re standing on that wooden platform, turn around and you’ll notice some light-colored bricks. Climb up those instead and you’ll be hanging directly below the zipline platform. From there, you can get a good look as to who is camping out of up there and choose what to do. Doesn’t seem like many people notice you can climb up from there just yet, so it’s best to use that while you can.

I totally agree. U2 maps (except for the DLC maps) felt like they were designed to be competitive scrimmages. I think it’s pretty clear Naughty Dog wants Call of Duty numbers. I’m hoping they have a couple maps with the old style.

Co-op has me a little worried about the single player gameplay. Enemies have gone back to the U1 style of still moving when hit or spinning out, which makes shooting take longer.

Well the thing about Uncharted is it’s pretty much supposed to be freely running and jumping all over the map. It’s supposed to be relentless action with not many places to hide. It was great for a while back in U2 until they updated the game to buff all the long guns, nerf the short and mid-range weapons, lower your health by like 50%, and introduce the DLC maps. Don’t get me wrong, I did like those maps. They were designed very well, but they were just too big for 5v5. Made it too easy for people to just camp it up. And with all those crappy updates done to the system, it only further encouraged camping since people could just pick you off with 1 shot of the sniper or 2 shots of the FAL. Uncharted started becoming COD, and no one liked that, except for people that actually enjoy COD. Instead of seeing everyone running around like headless chickens shooting everything in sight and having a great time, everyone was just holding up in 1 area waiting for the other team to make a move so they could pick them off from a distance. It got really boring, and a lot of people just stopped playing. Naughty Dog even admitted that what they did to the multiplayer with the updates was a mistake and that they’d fix it in U3. So I’m not sure if we’ll see maps like that anytime soon after the launch of U3. I think the multiplayer is supposed to support 6v6, so there is probably bigger maps somewhere though.

I’ve noticed that about enemies too, actually. It’s kind of annoying since I used to just headshot the fuck out of everyone with only 1 shot back in U2. Now even when I land a shot to the head, it seems like it takes 2 or 3 to the head to actually kill someone. Doesn’t help how they just flop all over the place after being hit rather than get stunned or whatnot. Something funny I noticed though is if you stand in the high five position(holding down on your D-Pad), the enemies that would normally grab you just circle you or continuously bump into you. I think it’s the darker skinned guys with gas masks and white shirts that are the grapplers. I stood there yesterday holding down on the dpad and I had like 4 of those guys just staring at me, bumping into me, circling me, etc. They won’t do anything if your just trying to high five. I guess they think it’s rude to interrupt. Also, they wont grab you if you’re taking cover. They just sit there and either watch you or bump into you. It’s kinda odd, but funny to look at.

i did a coop high score run the other day. got ranked #11 in the u.s. and #52 in the world. but it was REALLY sloppy and we didnt do it in 1 run. we stopped at like level 4 or 5 with 2000+ multiplier and lost all that when we started again. will probably do another one. we also ran it on grim difficulty. what difficulty did you do your run on when you scored 872million?

im outi

…that would be me XD
I had beaten the game a few days ago.
The game’s OK, but you’ll get frustrated with it at times. It takes 50-60 hours to beat (and reach Lvl. 99 in as well). Difficulty depends on the player’s skill: It’s only hard at the begging until you figure out how to defeat the enemies afterwards it’s all a matter of patience and proper timing to attack.
If you’re gonna play it, play it on Easy mode. Normal isn’t all that bad but this is one game you’ll prob. want a less tedious time beating.
Note that the game is voiced in English with no Japanese dubbing.

Been keeping up this game as much as I can as I’m really excited for it. I heard there’s supposed to be very limited beta for this as well, but I don’t know the date for it or how you even get into it.

Yea I got my ear to the tracks for that Journey Beta too. That game looks cool.

There was a beta code giveaway for Journey on Tuesday. I don’t know of any other way to get in at the moment or if there will be any other way in the future. Tuesday may have been the only opportunity.
