The Official PLAYSTATION® Thread: E3 - PS4 Pro November 10th $399

I think the alternate color DLC was tame compared to the FOUR DLC characters that were 8 dollars a piece.

Talk about getting fucked in the ass. Kinda glad Blazblue has a weak scene here because that shit is supah LAME.

Anyway. Dead Space 2 is fucking awesome. I’m scared, yall.

The price per character was and still is pretty high, but wasn’t the game $40 to begin with. So the barrier to entry is lower, and you can get the rest of the characters for the amount of the game if it was a full $60.
Like now, the game is under $20, so for $45 you are getting the full roster besides the locked Unlimited characters, or whatever they’re called.
I didn’t buy any of the character’s, but if I was into the game I would have, same with Marvel.

I have MVC3 collector’s edition sealed, because Capcom fucked up on the shipping and I bought a regular version at Bestbuy because I didn’t want to wait. I never even thought about buying Jill & Shuma, or even opening the CE to put the code.
The DLC characters they had were wack as fuck.

The Blazblue DLC characters looked nice.

Bullshit.

So you mean to tell me. Because I’m renting my dvd from blockbuster, I don’t have access to Scene Skip and Select a Screen, nor Bonus Features.
But because I buy my shit new from Wal-Mart I get all the extras? BULLSHIT.

Take COD or Battlefield for an example. The meat and potatoes of those games are to get online and play against other people. For me to buy an ONLINE pass, because I bought the game used is silly. So what you’re telling me is that…even though we bought the same game…I have to pay an extra 10 bucks for the game for online?

It’s not having faith…it’s called “Used game sales aren’t giving us shit. We need to fix this…”

Don’t try that have faith shit. Having faith is going “We made a superior product, so you WON’T take this back and trade it in.” That’s having faith. Why do you think that Dark/Demon souls does not have an online pass? They have faith that people love the game enough to not take it back and trade it in.

The industry is just finding a way to milk people even more.

So my thought process is this:

Online pass when buying the game used: 10-20 dollars. Fair assumption?
Online pass when buying the game new: 0 dollars.

So by simple math…the game isn’t worth the 60$ i’m shelling out. Apparently it’s worth 40-50$.
Well actually…the game isn’t worth 40-50$ because most of the dlc that’s going to come out, was already made before the game came out and is already coded into the disc…so thats about…5-20, after all the dlc packs come out…

So actually the game is worth 20-35$. But…essentially, I’m paying 60$ for an incomplete fucking game…

I don’t buy into that shit.

It’s not that the online pass is a huge problem now, but what it’ll turn into. When dlc first came out it was suppose to add to the game a few months after release. Not make you fork out an extra $10 to $30 for shit that’s already developed on street date. I can easily see companies charging a monthly fee for you to play multiplayer, or even worse single player.
If companies want people to buy games new they should release better games, end of story. Not rush the fuck out of something, or half ass development and playtesting then bitch because people don’t want to pay $60 for a $20 game. To me its like if your friend orders a pizza, and then as you go to get a slice, the domino’s nigga starts ripping off all the toppings cause you didn’t order your own.

Blazblue CT was 60 bucks. So you damn right CS should have been 40 bucks…but wait…it wasnt because you have to buy 4 more DLC who were 8 dollars a piece making it even more expensive than the original. Yeah they looked nice, but not 8 dollars worth.

And the day they start charging us to play 1 player modes is the day we rebel, because that is truly truly outrageous. And the way PSN is always fucking down for maintenance, it would be suicide to make people pay for monthly online.

You buy the game for the price you think it is worth, whether it is new or used. The argument that they need to make better games is dumb as fuck. Gamestop sales used games for $55, and people buy them for $55. The game companies are trying to maximize their profit, for somebody like me buying new anyway, I’m hardly affected.

Why would you buy a bad used game?

The only DLC for a disc game I bought were for Borderlands & Bad Company 2. All the map packs and Fallout DLCs don’t interest me in the least. Some DLC is definitely bad. Third Strike tourney match DLC, didn’t buy. MVC shadow packs, didn’t buy.
Arkham City $8 to use Robin on some challenge maps, not even in the game world. Fuck that.

I wouldn’t say PSN always goes into maintenance, then again the times it does I don’t use PSN…and for that matter I don’t recall many maintenances since May, maybe 2 or 3.

I rarely have a problem with it going down as well. We all went through that major one.
I remember 3 bad ones.
The huge one with the hackers.
The one with the dumb leap year date.
One a couple weeks ago for one day, that was announced ahead of time.
I have had mine since launch too.

Regardless… the day PSN starts charging to play online is the day we have a netflix outcry all over again x10.

I dont mind paying 40 or 60 for a game. I think that when people pay 60 and are sufficed then all of a sudden a shitload of “extra content” is released after the fact that feels like it should have been there to begin with is what gets people salty.

Like we were all sufficed with Marvel. I hate to bring it up, but we were sufficed with marvel. And then that turned into rage when people realized they played the Marvel beta. Either way it sucks cuz they tell you up front there will be preorder bullshit or you get a bran new game a year or so after release.

The moral to the story would be that people wouldnt mind waiting if the end product didnt need DLC.

I mean, did Metal Gear Solid 4 NEED DLC? They also take 4-5 years to cook up a game so maybe thats it, but at the same time you’re bullshitting people if you want them to believe you had so many time constrictions and couldnt squeeze in some pallet swap stages and extra dlc colors.

Man that leap year one was golden; it was so the PS3 can go back in time and kill off any chance the Dreamcast would have at being successful, making the PS2 the dominant console during the early 2000s and thus ensuring that the PS3 would exist.

EDIT: If MvC3 was a Beta, then it’s a HECK OF A LOT BETTER than the Beta SNK gave us.
…and even then MvC3 was fine IMO; they could balance it via patches like how they nerfed Sent’s health (lol), plus I was fine with the features in it; if there were any bugs they could’ve fixed them with patches.

MVC3’s beta was so good that I traded it in. I felt so selfish keeping all that good fun to myself and thought that I should trade it in so someone else’s dark soul could be filled with light.

RIGHT?

The clerk said “TEN DOLLA” I said “I’LL TAKE IT!”

i seein a lot of people bein mad

lets talk about vidjagames

dark souls is still hard, rage is still shottin dudes, chicken game platform bits are barrs

also lollin i saw frimas a space shooter for 2 bucks on android as a space shooter for free, which you can pay a dollar to unlock the bigass version, while their games don’t always live up I like that frima flava

Aren’t you one of the guys that are hyped for KoF 13?

Lol people getting angry that companies are adding incentives to buy games new over used. They don’t see a dime from a used game sales, they lose a lot from second hand sales, of course they’re going to see how far they can go to ensure people buy their games new. Preorder bonus DLC, online pass, DLC codes in the case, etc.

Games aren’t made on promises and sunshine and puppies.

Character DLC is awesome, don’t have to wait for the new version to get extra characters if I don’t want to.

Yes, I am.

why shouldn’t a company benefit from second hand sales?
And don’t give me this bullshit answer that Event Status said of, “Well companies are already showing record profits…they’re just being greedy”.

So apparently using the Classic control scheme in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon allows you to destroy targets WITHOUT DFM.
Will read up and ask more about this and post back.
For that matter I enjoyed Assault Horizon, but a friend said that online multiplayer is a better experience, so I’ll try to play with him someday.

Finally, my brother just beat Uncharted 1 and is about to start Uncharted 2, and he enjoyed it.
Glad to see him doing my share of getting ready for UC3 XD. Oh and Elena>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Chloe.

Tizoc, I’m sorry, but Chloe > Elena. Both of them are beastly, though. <3

Speaking of Uncharted, in celebration of UC3’s release next week, I will be streaming an entire play-through of Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2, back to back, today. I’ll post up a little later when the stream is going up.

Wicked! I might not be able to watch it as it’s streamed, but I’ll attempt to catch up.
