you think capcom gives a fuck about you and how many of their games you got off PSN?
Really?
Look at PSN’s SFA3 and tell me they care. Look at BB and tell me they care if people paid extra for characters that were already on the game.
I don’t know man, that’s just how I see it but if yaw think that way then that’s for you and not for me. It wont keep me from SRK or anything but I’ll still be on the fence— waiting for people to finally see that they are in fact getting fucked and loving it.
UMVC3–people saw this shit coming from miles away. All that DLC that Capcom promised us. Stop right there, a sec…all this “DLC” should’ve been included in the first place, but obviously that issue has been beaten like a dead horse, so I won’t continue on with it.
Maybe I missed something, but what’s wrong with PSOne Alpha 3? I watched some of the guy’s clip & didn’t get it either. It’s a PSOne game, & was announced as such. Take it or leave it. If people want an Alpha Anthology or MAX version, too bad, so sad.
and that’s a big problem which will only get bigger if no one speaks up, call publisher out on their shit, and stop the milking of consumer’s pockets.
i’m not attacking you but it’s already been said that the PSX ver. of SFA3 is not the best version. basically it’s not the arcade perfect port. yea, it has more characters and that extra mode was great but ELITES were not happy. but keep in mind that Capcom put out a PSP ver. out— with even more characters. so WTF? why didn’t they try to put out a similar version? (or better yet…)
That’s just the tip of this e-iceberg. the real issue was why didn’t Cap take the time to put the same options and same effort to like they did with 3’sOE. why put such a “popular” game on PSN and not give an online matches and ranked matches. it was half-assed, kinda like people felt about RE4:HD which isn’t even HD, from what I’ve read.
Thing is i don’t mind the online pass. I just hope they don’t do it like Arkham City. That was pretty dumb.
And honestly if people really want to play the definitive version of Alpha 3, hook your fuckin ps2 up and play Alpha Anthology. Nobody is giving two fucks about Alpha 3 not having bells and whistles and it honestly would be a waste for Capcom to even slap on some online aspect to that game.
I dunno man, it’s just another PS port, not a full-on re-release like HF, MVC2, 3SOE. You’re asking for things (arcade-perfect) that weren’t in the original PSX game. Why not get up-in-arms over Square not using the SNES/DS versions of FF6, or using PC graphics for FF7?
I know PSOne Classics in general are just one big cash grab, but hey, some people are loving it. And it makes way more financial sense for Capcom. Allocating resources to properly port/hype up a super niche game like A3 would be hella risky.
Alpha 3 isn’t even super popular anymore, it’s a nostalgia trip at best these days. I’m all for the crusade, but bitch about shit worth bitching about. Alpha 3 is not it.
going by what you have said, it would be a risk to add more to something that “some people are loving”?
that truly doesn’t make sense, IMO. why would it be a risk for publishers to put out a 8+ year old game (that really still has a following and still being played) to their “loyal customers” even more stuff for their money?
It’s not like asking your favorite clothing company to give you a free item everytime you order something but getting discounts and sales is what keeps you coming back, right? that is “giving more”. so why are we as consumers buying old shit as “ported old shit” but it’s on a new system? why wouldn’t a consumer want just want a bit more, especially when $15, $20, $34 ect. is asking for a lot due to people having to make cut backs financially? People don’t want a “Herman Cain” mentality when comes to how we buy our games. how would you feel about paying an extra 9% tax on top of your state’s sales tax everytime you buy all of the “new versions” of Street Fighter?! Are you going be to loving that?! hell naw!
Don’t let the publishers fool you. They get’s money. A few extras for a classic, popular game is not asking for much. Asking me to pay for a old game that’s still at a GameStop near you on PS2 IS asking for much.
Im not. Just an example of milking which was what’s the problem with how online passes are heading to: more milking.
But online pass isn’t milking. From what i can see, online pass is essentially the company saying, “Hey consumer, Thanks for buying our product new and having faith that we put out a quality product that you’ll hopefully like”. It seems more of an incentive i guess to buy new instead of renting or waiting for the price to drop.
DLC’s seem like milking but i barely buy DLC to begin with.
You know they have to pay people to put this stuff out. It costs money to even just post them online. Adding new stuff, new content and so on costs them even more money, and they have to pay people to implement it. It has to be worth their time. I think the Online Pass shit is Bullshit but I don’t feel like it’s connected to the PS1 Classics shit, and them adding stuff to a game 25 people actually care about it quite a bit a waste of their time.
Basically the Alpha 3 thing does nothing for your argument, if anything it hurts it, I wouldn’t bring it up when trying to make your point. It’s unrelated and has a lot going against it for them putting time into it anyway.
PS1 Classics, is exactly PS1 classics, nothing else. I have no idea why people are complaining about that.
I don’t see how online passes are milking, when you get it with the price of a new game. The Catwoman DLC is just wrong though, because that is a single player game and it’s in the main game. I have a few online passes never redeemed, MK9, SOCOM, & Medal Of Honor to name a few.
I’m sure for the PS1 classics, it’s just a button push, no resources used at all since all PS3s play PS1 code. Would be nice if they all played PSP code as well, then a lot of problems would be solved.
I’m going to Sonystyle and checking it out in person. If it is legit, I’m buying that shit and canceling that Playstation 3D Monitor. 24" is too small for me, 150" simulation.:wow:
Although some of the colors are rather impressive IMO (note that I didn’t buy any yet, waiting for them to go on sale OR for CSE DLC that’ll give me all CS2 DLC for 20 dollars or equivalent =P)
I’m not gonna say they aren’t nice to look at, but games in the past had color edit options. You can make your own colors.
I’m not against online passes either. What I’m against is locking stuff on the disc for a price, stuff that used to be free unlocks before the internet gave them a route to take your money.
Catwoman DLC was done wrong.
Rage sewers were done wrong.
Anytime you buy a full game, and there is a pass inside for extra stuff in a single player game, that is wrong. There are legitimate people who have Catwoman, or Rage codes and can’t get on the internet for whatever reason. Online pass is null and void argument, because if you can’t get on the internet anyway to activate, you don’t need an online pass.
I think I can agree on that color edit should be the norm from now on
but I confess
[details=Spoiler]My idea for an SvC 3 fighting game will be to give each character 2 outfits with their own color sets and at least 1-2 DLC outfits =X
Rage on me if you will, but I’ll try to think of a way to get color edit/character customization in there
EDIT: Oh and all the ladies will get a swimsuit alt. and at least 1 ‘sexy’ outfit alt.[/details]
