Section 8 Prejudice is one of the best PSN games I’ve ever downloaded, it’s so damn good. A lot of fun, tons of depth(something most FPS games lack these days) great graphics, crazy amount of content, 32 player cap for online, more game modes than 95% of other FPS games I’ve played, and at 15$ this game has given me more fun and enjoyment than any other 60$ FPS game I’ve played this entire year. Shit, it even has dedicated servers. I’ll be playing this the next few days until God of War: Origins comes out on Tuesday, then I’ll be getting that and RE4 HD. I have 20$ in my wallet so it’ll most likely go right to that.
Gameplay is a mix of Quake/Unreal/Tribes with some Killzone 2 sprinkled in. So fucking good, holy shit.
i like dead island and is pretty fun in coop mode.
i find it strange that the RE package coming out on PSN, both games do not have platinums…like why? i dont understand that choice. is it really that hard to add trophies to a game?
I’ve been considering helping my 14 year old cousin out with a ps3. My aunt is a little…I can’t even explain it. She does shit weird. Instead just getting my cuz a ps3, she bought a laptop for her that cost some 370…and a younger relative sat on it, breaking it. Before that, my cuz barely used it anyway (you know how young people are these days, taking shit us 30+ year olds are still astounded by for granted). Now I notice that Gamestop has used ps3’s for 199…do you think that’s safe? Should I pitch in a 100 on a used one, or get a little more out of savings and go half on a 249.99 new slim?
I don’t think so, seeing how some PS2 games DO have Platinums. If anything, it might have to do with 360 Achievements? It’s like they decide them for 360 first and then use them for PSN releases. At the very least, completing BOTH RE4 and CVX should give you a platinum.
My opinion, save up for the new slim. $249 is not that THAT far away from $199 and when the prices are close like that you might as well just save a little more to half and half a new one. You probably won’t have to worry about any problems happening in the new one but, if they do, you could get a refund if anything goes wrong.
I’m inexperienced when it comes to Gamestop used consoles, but won’t they just give you store credit instead of money if you return a used console or do you have an option?
My own personal luck with a used system has been pretty good. I’ve rarely had even a hiccup and no YLOD’s as of yet. I think the new slims are pretty safe as long as you give them enough room to breathe. I’d say go for it normally. Still, she might not even use it anymore than she did the laptop, so the money might go down the drain in a wasted effort. Just my two cents.
Speaking of two cents, has anyone else noticed that while you can find the dollar sign on pretty much any keyboard set for american typing, the cent sign is NEVER there? I mean, I have NEVER seen one with that on the keys. Two more cents from me I guess.
Man why’s the saving in Beyond Good and Evil so long? I understand it’s based on the PC ver. of the game but even then this long just to save is annoying @_@
RE4 HD will have a Plat. All 20$ PSN releases and up guaranteed have Platinum trophies. Every re-release of a PS2 game has had a Plat too except for Beyond Good & Evil.
Section 8 Prejudice has a Platinum trophy and is only 15$, but I’ve noticed the majority of 15$ releases don’t get Plats. Sony has a weird way of deciding what games get Plats, but I’ve noticed that the more content it has along with a 15-20$ price decides if it gets a Plat or not.
^ I bet the majority of those trophies will be turned Gold, with like 2-3 silvers/bronze as the rest with a Plat. This would make the game the only 20$ release with no Plat if it does come out like this, but I’m still 99% sure it’s going to have a Plat. As of right now, it has the trophy amount/trophy points amount of a 5-10$ PSN game, which makes no sense.
I’m tempted to do the same, as much as I want everything on launch I can’t play them all at the same time. So I’m gonna be selective and then come up around the holidays.
No, trust me: this girls frickin’ LURVES her some ps3. She walked 2 miles from her house to granny’s place when her mom was in Tallahassee with the family car just to play RE5 with me. Just ditched her best friend. It was either basketball in the street, or headshots in Africa. She went so far as to spend a month in Jacksonville at one of my other female cousin’s house with her abusive, borderline crazy fiance (we believe this dude shook his daughter, causing her eyes to suddenly be crossed when she looked fine that morning when her mom left for work, and he pulled a gun on my cousin on one occasion…dunno why the fuck she went back to him. Women are dumb, I guess), JUST for that thrizzle…until elder cuz sold it cuz “Niggas would keep showing up and playing games after 10, and don’t want to go home”. Ps3 is mighty.
I’m sure Gamestop PS3s are fine out the door, but who knows what could happen later. What kind of warranty do you get with a used one? I personally would go with a brand new one, you get the standard 1 year Sony warranty and nothing like opening a brand new system.
edit
Last time I seen a cent sign was on Richie Rich’s broke ass cousin’s pet. I think it was a pig or something. My $.02
I would imagine it’s a case by case thing. I bought my phat PS3 refurbed from Gamestop back in July 08, and it just barely YLOD on me yesterday, which has already been fixed.
For sure.
Example being, my friend took his on a trip back east and he said his daughter dropped it while it was in the luggage. It didn’t work when he hooked it back up. It was under warranty and got replaced immediately for free. That extra $50 is worth that peace of mind to me.
Holy shit is the Dreamcast loud, fan and disk access. I forgot all about that. Definitely louder than my PS3 which isn’t as quiet as it was back at launch.
Funny how we never noticed that shit. We just noticed those sharp-ass graphics, great gameplay, and the controller, while looking weird, was perfect, somehow. Anybody else just keep forgetting to replace the vmu batteries, so it would beep when you power on the dc, like a pc posting? They really shoulda used a single rechargeable aaa. I’ll never forget when sf3 W impact came out…I imported a dc and a copy of it, and nearly busted a nut when they arrived…I LOVED 2i (why the hell hasn’t capcom ported World Impact or whatever they called the american version to ps2 or 3? Tired of companies only giving us the last game in a good series. Give us the whole thing) aaaaand I have no idea where that game is now.
