very very good

That happens all the time and it doesn’t count because the goalies slides their pads out of the net and you can’t see it on replay.

The game should be played the way it was meant to be. There’s too many assholes that have never played and no shit about anything opening their mouths with their stupid opinions and getting all these lame rules put in. I saw you guys talking about toughest athletes on earth…i still agree…but they don’t make them the same as they used to.

The Rangers suck.
Let’s go Islanders.

On that note I’m going to two Ranger/Islander games this month. And they’re both practically tied for points. Shit’s gonna be rough.

second.

Crosby and Ovechkin rap = gold

And check out the rest of the videos in this guy’s YT account. Good shit.

Shit was funny.

oh oilers
like i said
MOST EXCITING TEAM IN HOCKEY

Oh Oilers. Most retarded team in hockey.

Equipment truck for the Wild caught fire - almost all of the players’ stuff is gone.

They got a game against Ottawa on Saturday, wonder how that game will be affected in anyway.

No nightmares (the wide-right Super Bowl vs. the Giants is the loss that has that destinction), but many sports fans in Buffalo do have a dislike for Dallas sports teams because of the events you meantioned.

Sadly, a small, but significant amount of people became Cowboys fans because they could not take the pain of rooting for Super Bowl losers. I’m sure this is not a scenerio unique to Buffalo, but it is pathetic all the same.

“Try scoring 50 with Zubrus as your centerman.” Lmao

A lot of dudes with sore feet breakin in new skates also a lot of Backstroms pads got burned up. Must have been an angry Habs fan

THAT is messed up. I wonder how it has played out?

i doubt it will affect it that much, they go through tons of equipment throughout the year. They all have practice gear as well…although i wonder if all that was in the truck.

^^^

Some of the stuff, will be fine. As far as sticks, gloves, and skates practically come broken in out of the box.

Some guys wear custom braces though. Some use pads that are dead-stocked, the goalie pads and masks. Those will be hard to replace.

Some clips after digging through the article:

This is obviously unprecedented and the team is in complete scramble mode. Remember, in practice, players use their game gear, just not their normal game sweaters. Assistant equipment trainer Brent Proulx is rushing back to Minnesota to gather equipment and bring it here tomorrow, but the team is also on the phone with the league to determine what can be done regarding the game.
It is not easy for hockey players to just change equipment, and much of the gear was completely destroyed. It’s hard to imagine if the game goes on that the Wild will have new gear here by the morning skates.

and as Biolink said:

(updated): Just talked to a bunch of players. They have a 6 p.m. EST meeting at their hotel with the team. *There’s lot of concern about playing in new equipment. It’s not just a feel thing (it takes players weeks to break in equipment), but a safety thing. Knee braces and stuff like that were destroyed. How do you just throw a new knee brace on a player without making sure it fits properly? *More soon.

Derek Boogard has had the same shoulder pads since he was 12 years old as well as Andrew Brunette and Nick Schultz who have had theirs since bantams. The only thing frequently replaced is gloves and sticks

Have you ever played hockey? Skates take 2-3 weeks to break in depending upon the player.

Nope, never played Ice Hockey before, but I was a Lacrosse team member and had friends who latched on to the Lacrosse team, since the sports share similarities. The one’s who owned newer pairs of Skates said that after heat molding it took about a week and a half to get comfortable in the padding of the skates.

Unless you’re wearing an old pair of Skates that can’t be heat molded, with the resources available to an NHL team, and with the amount of custom stuff they already have, it shouldn’t take close to a month to break in a new pair of Skates(Unless like I said you’re wearing old dead stocked skates).

As I’ve said before I already imagined that the pads will be a pain in the ass to replace, because some of them are dead stocked pads, The pads have been broken in to where they fit just right, and its a pain in the ass to have to break in new pads.

A week and a half is not out of the box. When you have 3-4 games in the span of that week and a half breaking in new skates is going to have some sort of effect out your play. Imagine going 25-30 mph into the corner on new skates where you don’t have that feel of your old ones.

That’s only a week and a half according to a College kid’s standards. College kids that have to pay for ice time, in addition to going to class, and having an odd game every week and half. If you scaled that down to games + practices, an NHL team would get it done faster.

By sheer virtue of time it will effect them because even with breaking the cushion in, you are still facing just as capable opposition, that will have an advantage over the guys that aren’t used to their skates. Not trying to totally deny that.
