The OFFICIAL NFL 2010-11 Thread (including SRK Fantasy League)

Seriously, I hate Favre. Overrated old piece of shit. I mean, if you’re a decent QB, and you play for like a billion years, it’s only a matter of time till you get all those game winning drives and all break all those records and what not.

Rodgers > Favre already imo.

Also, Pats were still the best team this season… They just choked hard against Jets.

Maybe we can say Pats are only a good regular season team… Idk, but fuck they better win next year. It’s been so long since they’ve won but it feels like yesterday.

How did we f’ng choke when our defense was top#4 in giving up the most points in the league this season??

We were hella bad at stopping the run as well which was something the Jets are good at and needed too/were expected to, get back to doing once/if they faced us especially with Mark Sanchize’s arm going into putty!!

Choke against a defense that has actually scared QB’s out of throwing slants, A defense that has shutdown 5 of the best WR’s in the game including A.Johnson,T.Owens and a host of others.

Patriots only a good regular season team??

Patriots have been to the superbowl 5 times and won 3 (SERPENT PLEASE DON’T START I CAN HEAR YOUR KEYBOARD ALREADY DAMN IT) during this time the Patriots have never really rebuilt the team but have dipped in free agency maybe 3 times, acquired some pretty nice draft slots.

I don’t think we choked because the Patriots by far were the best “Front Running” team in the league, similar to the Saints during there championship run BUT the big difference was big plays on defense to aid the offense during there struggles, which happens more often then not during the playoffs because you are in line to face the possible best of the best.
The Patriots Defense wasn’t anything to smile at all season,we had our moments but I didn’t have faith we could “Stop” any teams in the playoffs, just out score them!!

Patriots defense was deceptively bad this season. Like, they looked like they had a good defense due to the number INTs they able to corral, but the yardage and points allowed was truly pathetic. Basically, unless they were able to force a INT, the defense couldn’t stop anybody from moving the ball up and down the field and scoring a ton of points on them.

I will never count a Tom Brady team out completely, but unless he gets more help (not just on defense, offense is still patchwork at best), the Patriots aren’t going get far in the playoffs.

Patriots haven’t done shit in the playoffs since they got caught cheating. Brady has played like shit twice now against the Ravens and the Jets since then. Hard to ignore the fact that they got proven to be cheating, you can’t isolate that to just one game.

Brady’s played like shit yet…
we’ve had a damn near perfect season after spygate.

In those three playoff games he has lost, to the Giants (In the superbowl) The Ravens (wildcard) and now Jets (#1 Seed). Brady has completed 81 of 135 passes for 719 yards, with five touchdowns and four interceptions. Terrible numbers? No.
No one can ever take away Tom Brady?s three Super Bowl rings, the regular-season MVP award he received following the 2007 season or the second MVP he acquired this season, hate him all you want, continue to blame spygate all you want BUT the Patriots have been more then just “relevant” since spygate.

Tom Brady has been able to carry the offense a bit in the past but teams around the AFC have gotten way better, there was no way he was taking that offense to the Superbowl easily the way the Ravens defense played this season, the Steelers put it down on teams defensively, the way the Packers exposed us towards the end of the season and the jets playing with a lot of verbal abuse, chip on there shoulder and confidence on there defense.

Continuing to blame spygate is like saying the Patriots aren’t shit and that’s just being fibble minded and plain un-true

I’m sorry…

If you have a someone from your squad on the other teams sideline with a damn camera, and taking that camera to your locker room during halftime…

You should be Banned from football…

That is cheating at it’s worse…

Not only that, why would Goodell destroy all the evidence…

Bellicheater and Brady will forever be shit in my eyes…

Who gives 2 shits what you think??

You only post when your so called teams are on the up and up, you are the weakest/fakest fan on srk

Oh yea, people said the Saints cheated on there road to there ring as well

P.S. Oakland Raiders,Denver Broncos,Carolina Panthers,Cleveland Browns,Baltimore Ravens,Philidelphia Eagles,Arizona Cardinals,Washington Redskins, all admitted to doing the same thing, some even worse, Denver was caught again this year I think.

I’m assuming you liked that Bad Ass Eminem commercial

Well as stated so far. He is a bit overrated.

Wait wha? Since when? oh you mean this
Cheating Redskins Reach A New Low ROFL

But all jokes aside what incident are you talking about? I happened to come across a blogger but I dont take them seriously at all.

Nigga you the fakest biggest fuckin pussy on this site period… You always got something negative to say about the next man… So really you can eat a dick nigga… nah make it ten thousand of em… Cuz you always sucking someones…

Holyshit Nori, you post up some wild accusations. Firstly, Rodgers has had the luxury of sitting back and developing, understanding gameplans, and more importantly when he finally took the helm, he was more intelligent, plus he had greater and better talent overall then Favre had when he took the helm, especially on the offensive side here. Not to mention the Packers had been to the Playoffs multiple times and had been contenders for many years minus a few.

Favre when he got the Packers they had only gone to TWO Playoff games within the 29 year gap of Lombardi to 1992. Favre had WR’s like Terry Mekins as a Wide Out, yeah, he had Sterling Sharpe, but outside of that, who do you think had the better talent when they started, not to mention he was basically thrown to the wolves considering he had almost zero play in Atlanta and had to come in for an injured Don of whom might I added won that comeback game in the final moments as the starter for the Packers.

Not to mention it would’ve taken Favre “less” years had their not of been a super dominant team called the Dallas Cowboys which curb stomped the entire Packers team for 3 consecutive years, and I’m sorry but nobody within this season that the current Packers faced against was even remotely as good as that Dallas Team that the Packers had to deal with in the 90’s.

Rodgers is a phenomenal QB who got to take the helm when there was a significantly greater amount of talent around him and the fact that they were a team in contention for a SB run already, while Favre took the reigns of a football team that was gutter trash for nearly 30 years since the days of Lombardi. Two completely different realms here. I swear, you talk shit about Favre all the time in here and at TZ it makes me feel like he had sex with g/f or something (No hate dude, but thats all I hear about you with #4).

Btw, I absolutely love Aaron Rodgers right now, however to compare him to Favre now is ridiculous. It seems many people forgot how incredible #4 was for the Packers when he was in his prime and when he had a great overall team talent around him. Rodgers has the potential to be better then #4, however at this point in time please stop the comparisons already (3 seasons to what…20+? how do you do it?) and let me enjoy this Super Bowl Win.

Lastly, it was epic today, going to the Homecoming for the Packers…shit was absolutely nuts, seeing basically 70,000+ fans there made it feel like a real Packer game atmosphere and how fitting is it that it just “had” to be 11 degrees and -12 w/ Windchill factors when we were there. Seeing Spitz doing a chest naked body splash into the snow was epic, and also since we on the 10th row, I was able to get down and get a touch of the Lombardi Trophy as it circled Lambeau Field.

To have that is to feel like your a moment of NFL History, gotta love it!

Ok we get it Aaron Rodgers has been good for 2 years great for 1 stop comparing him to Favre. Wait another 17 years and see if Rodgers is even close. Chances are he will be injury prone only a few QB’s have been able to stay healthy near that long. If he locks down 2 more Superbowls then I too will say he is better or if he keeps this one and knocks down Favre’s stats then I will believe he is better. He has a long ass way to go stop being a prisoner of the moment. We all know Troy Aikman is the best QB of all time anyway…

Also lets not bring up spygate again please. It was horse shit when it happened but I believe the Pats have proven they can win without the tapes anyway. It was still some shady shit though >:(

What do you guys think about the Cowboys getting 8-1 odds (Vegas Odds I saw on ESPN)? I hate it when they hype my team up they always do worse I am stoked as hell for Garret and Rob Ryan though. No more fat fuck Wade Phillips.

Thank You!

Also yeah, the Cowboys have been stated to be “SuperBowl” bound or one of the contenders for so many years and in numerous magazines it drives me nuts. However with Wade Phillips gone I believe the team will do better now because I didn’t feel he was the right fit for that team. The great talent around that Cowboys team, I don’t see how you guys can’t do better then what was this seasons debacle. This is coming from a Packers fan, and I have respect for the Cowboys, and as for being in those odds, I can’t say, however again, there’s no way they should do a repeat of this years season.

The thing is that Rodgers’ career averages are so overwhelmingly superior to Favre’s career averages, it’s hard not to notice. Like, they’re not even close, and I’m including all seasons in the NFL (Rodgers’ first 3 seasons on the bench drag his numbers waaaayyyy down).

Also, Rodgers has played almost 1/3 of what Favre has played in his career, so I think that gives us a large enough sample to draw conclusions from. Yes, Rodgers doesn’t have 20 seasons under his belt like Favre does, but who else does? Oh that’s right, nobody. You guys are acting like 20 seasons is some regular thing that happens in the NFL.

I guess I don’t understand how people are looking at Favre > Rodgers. If you’re going by pure statistics, Rodgers > Favre. If you’re using Super Bowl wins, they’re even. If you’re using intangible stuff like franchise advancement, community involvement, etc., then I suppose you’d have to give Favre the sentimental edge for all the reasons TrueSeph stated (Favre/Wolf/Holmgren made Green Bay relevant again after decades of futility whereas Rodgers took over a team that was already put together and had solid coaching/front office already in place). Me, I’m looking at wins and statistics. I can appreciate what Favre did for the franchise, but to be honest, I’m only 27, so I’ve only known the Green Bay Packers to be a good team. Maybe if I lived through the terrible times of the 1970’s and 1980’s, I’d appreciate Favre more.

There are two main things that Favre have, and Rodgers don’t.

First back to back to back MVP’s.

Which is fucking ridiculous if you’re thinking about it. Second the iron man streak.

Rodgers stats > Favre stats, but once again 3 years to 20 is not enough to judge. We have no clue how Rodgers will turn out 10 years from now.

Still too early to tell. I’m with Sephiroth on this way. Lets enjoy Rodgers from what he is right now, and that’s one of the top 5 QBs in the league. We can start talking about legacy near the end of his career not the beginning.

We’ve made this same mistake in the NBA with LeBron James. We kept comparing him to Michael Jordan when in reality he turned out to me more like Magic Johnson. Lets not repeat this with Rodgers. Enjoy him for what he is.

BTW I think Rodger’s career is going to shadow Manning a lot more than Favre.

Yes, Favre in the 1990’s was this magical beast out of a fairytale, not gonna lie. I don’t know if Rodgers will ever put together a better consecutive 4 year stretch that Favre had from 94-97, that shit was toooooo fucking sick.

Also, Brady and Manning are going to get injured/retire sometime, so Rodgers will have his chance. Favre didn’t really get his chance until Young got injured, so it isn’t unreasonable to look at Rodgers’ MVP trajectory hinging on his counterparts declining in the next couple years.

EDIT: Btw, I think I know how 49er fans felt in the 1990’s; arguing over which HOF/future HOF QB was better. Hahahaha, Packers have spoiled me with successful teams and great QBs.

Ugh, we are like 15th in the draft. Not looking good for any solid picks for QB for us.

Chad Henne, and Chad Pennington cannot carry this team -_-.

Not to mention Ricky Williams is gone and Ronnie Brown is a free agent.

QBs in this class look pretty “meh” overall. 15th pick is still good value, maybe you can get someone else at a different impact position.

Ewwww this years QB Class is totally ass bro.
I didn’t know Ricky was leaving, I figured Miami would attempt to shop Ronnie though.

I know carolina feels shafted lol

Ricky went fucking OFF on the Dolphins on some radio interview shortly after the season. Just straight vented and shit on the organization for minutes. That was pretty much the end of Ricky Williams as a Dolphin.

Right now Farve and Rodgers are equal.

Brady is still the best and Big Ben is second.

Manning is tied with Rodgers.
