The OFFICIAL NFL 2010-11 Thread (including SRK Fantasy League)

Congrats Arsenal.

We’ve only been telling you all year how good the Packers were.

Anyways, I’m happy Rodgers got a ring, I think he’s going to end up being better than Favre as long as he has good receivers.

Oh and one negative comment. James Jones. This guy drops more potential touchdowns that you can shake a stick at. Hasn’t he had a big drop in every playoff game this year that should have gone for a TD?

Why I get the feeling Arsenal is somewhere out in the snow passed out from all the excitement?

James Jones is ass. Get him outta town. Jordy Nelson had a few drops too. Clay Mathews should have gotten defensive player of the year. Packers look scary next year.

Your post should read congrats Arsenal, the only true Green Bay fan. Everyone is just a band wagon asshole.

Ken and TrueSeph have been posting in SRK Football threads for years, so I know they’re Packer Nation. Also, there’s plenty of room left on the Rodgers Express for everyone! All aboard!

Decent game overall. However, I noticed something when I went back on the internet…

Mystery Science Theater 3000 totally saw this coming several years back

I can excuse Jordy Nelson. I didn’t really think he’d have to elevate his game the way he did yesterday. However James Jones is #3 on the depth chart officially right? That guy has had a few good games this year. But to go to the playoffs dropping TDs is inexcusable. And every time he dropped one, Rodgers would put his hands on his head like, “I can’t believe he dropped that one!!!” And the worst part is they were all catch-able.

Rodgers makes his receivers look better than they are sometimes. They’re talented, no doubt, but he makes guys like Nelson and Jones look like bonafied superstars.

Put it this way; replace Jones and Nelson with some other mid-level WRs, and Rodgers will still throw for 400+ yards and all that. Put Jones and Nelson on a team with a midlevel QB, and they’re nowhere near as prodcutive, dangerous, or talked about.

Sounds awesome lol. Are you not white? If so what are you and what’s it like living in Wisconsin?

sounds awesome,

I’m no Pack fan, but I live in PA. If the Steelers won the Super Bowl again, I’d be going through hell. I can deal with one or two Pack fans rather than half a state.

honestly, since 2 years ago i had a lot of hype and hope for James Jones, he looked like the next Greg Jennings in the making, i remember watching him in preseason and he was clutch regular season, same goes for nelson, going into the playoffs i felt driver, Jennings, Jones, and nelson were all big threats and our offense would be hard to deal with, even if we had no running game, (which oddly enough in the playoff games starks lit it up, lol). i almost wanted to pull my hair out when nelson dropped that slant route pass, but Rodgers showed confidence in him and i think he ran the same exact route the next play and he caught it, so i love that Rodgers has faith in his receivers and that his receivers also have faith in their selves.

Don’t get me wrong, I think we have the best WR corp in football, but Nelson and Jones need to learn how to catch a god-damned pass. Like, they are almost shocked to see the ball hit their hands, then bounce off. Rodgers could’ve easily gone for 400+ yards with 4 TDs if his receivers caught their passes.

President Obama has no love for the Packers :frowning:

RealClearPolitics - Video - Gibbs: Obama Has Not Called Packers Yet To Congratulate Them

Psh best WR core in the NFL? Please the Cleveland Browns say hi.

Alright seriously now though the Cowboys!

Obama’s Chicago pride runs deep, apparently. With all the Woodson/White House buzz building up over the last few weeks, I fully expect the Packers’ White House visit to be more publicized than usual.

What? You can’t be serious? Go back years and check old NFL threads and you’ll see that I’ve been nothing but a Packer fan along with Ken, not just Arsenal, and have never been a band wagon asshole as you seem to believe. The only reason I don’t post every single weekend during the NFL is because I have a lot of other things in my life that is more priority then to come on srk.com and throw my bit all the time.

Just because it seems like I show up once in awhile doesn’t indicate that my celebration of Green Bay winning is that a bandwagon. Not trying to hate bro, I’m just trying to put out that I’m not a bandwagon fan.

I’m Asian ftw! As for living in Wisconsin, its a great state to be living in, especially in Green Bay, the people here are really nice, however the only draw back that I see is that due to the fact that its not a big city, there isn’t a whole lot that you can do, especially if your single. It’s not like Houston, L.A. or Atlanta in which I’ve visited before to where you have 209348209348209 things you can do literally, however if and when I ever choose to get married, G.B. would be one of those perfect nice places to start a family, because its not too small, nor too big, and the pace is slow enough for you to really see the entire outlet.

I love Green Bay, but sooner then later, I plan to move down to Houston though, because I’ve got a few things rolling down there already with close friends.

Also yesterday night, or should I say nearly all morning it was insane at downtown. I got called to go back there again because my brother, a few cousins and friends only got there when I had left. So a few of us went back to join in on the fun. It was impossible to drive a car up there because the entire Washington street era where this “mini mardi-gra” was taking place was basically blockaded. Good thing I live close to downtown, so we just parked the cars at my place and crossed the bridge to the celebration area.

Absolutely nuts, everyone is celebrating and cheering. I swear if the Packers won a SuperBowl every year, there would be like no violence in Green Bay lmao, never saw so many happy people in Green Bay before rofl. People be driving honking their horns, with some even sticking their heads out screaming “Title Town USA!”.

Even the police which were there in case of a riot were really lenient and more importantly willing to receive high fives and talk about the game because they were just as excited as us that the Packers won. Everywhere you went you could hear people screaming “We are superbowl champions!” with the occasional fireworks set off, and this was away from downtown.

This is the best Super Bowl experience I’ve had, because unlike SB XXXI where I was in my mid-late teens therefore I couldn’t go everywhere to celebrate, for SB XLV I’m in the prime of my life and of course able to go where I want. Again, its a day that I won’t forget, Green Bay Packers are Champions and with a young core group, I truly believe that we have potential next season at another SuperBowl run. Can we get there again? I don’t know, but I know which team I’ll be rooting for as always, the Green and Gold.

Btw, did anyone else noticed that SB XLV might be the most watched TV show in US History, and although the numbers aren’t up yet, they said it was a 3% higher rating then last years SB game. Lol, I just saw this on nfl.com since I had just woken up, rofl

So guys, Packers seeming like the OBVIOUS favorites for next year, considering all the pieces that were on IR this year will be back next year.

With the huge affect of Finley being back as our TE, which will make our Offense truly that much more explosive and dangerous. I also really like Starks over Grant because Starks has just as much power and more importantly explosiveness, so in my opinion they should switch between Starks and Grant to allow greater versatility just like back in 1996 with Bennett and Levens. Jackson isn’t a good pure runner, however he’s an excellent screen guy which is again something that I truly feel we should do more because we are a very good team at doing that. Plus our D-Line being completely healthy since we lost a few of them in IR…yeah, we should be better come next year if we stay healthy, I mean, I wouldn’t think it’d be an exaggeration if I believed that we should have a better record then 10-6 for the coming season.

<-------- not even a packer fan but i like this pic. I hope the lions draft some O-Linemen. IMO the packers are the favorites to repeat next year.
