The OFFICIAL NFL 2010-11 Thread (including SRK Fantasy League)

What is worst we sending a kid home from school for 1 day or being fired from your job?

And people say we are mean. :nono:

It’s Bartman all over again. Seriously, it’s only a game. There will be other chances.

It’s Bartman all over again. Seriously, it’s only a game. There will be other chances.

According to Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers was playing with an injury to his throwing shoulder after he was tackled by Daniel Manning on that opening drive, goal-line bootleg TD run. McCarthy will not say how severe the injury is.

Rodgers seperated his throwing shoulder back in 2008 against Tampa Bay, didn’t come out at all, but played very poorly in the game. The good news is that the next 3 games after he seperated shoulder, he averaged 70.9% completion percentage, 6 TD:1 INT, and 108.4 QB Rating.

The problem is that PIT’s defense doesn’t fuck around. If they smell blood in the water (if Rodgers is even the slightest bit hesitant to throw on the run due to accuracy issues), they’ll eat him alive. I’m glad we’ve had a nice 5-game stretch to make the Super Bowl, but this upcoming “bye” week is welcomed to get everyone healthy.

Also, seeing Peppers hit Rodgers like that scared me, no lie. Glad to see Rodgers didn’t sustain his 3rd concussion of the season (career ender), but man, Peppers rocked the shit out of Rodgers, surprised he didn’t at least call timeout to gather himself on the sidelines.

Looks like Obama got fat.

Didn’t Chicago fans also send MJD death threats over his Cutler remarks? What the fuck is wrong with Bears fans? You’ll kill a guy over a couple off-color remarks, end a man’s livelihood because he’s wearing a rival color? Are Bears fans in a secret gang?

Meh, every team has their share of kooks. On a serious note, if you’re one of those people that take a game more seriously than life itself, you need to get out more.

Yeah, seriously folks…

Leave that shit to the Philly fans. :wonder:

Which one of you posters is this

Dude with the Packer tie is gonna have to go into hiding a la Bartman.

When your owner, who happens to make the major personnel decisions, is in this frame of mind, you know your team is going to fail… until he finally kicks the bucket.

Calvin Johnson is a fucking beast. He’s had QBs like Culpepper, Stanton, etc throwing to him and he still caught for over 1,000 yards and double digit TD receptions. Fucking Christ, every NFL owner/GM would kill to have Calvin Johnson on their team.

EDIT: http://blogs.greenbaypressgazette.com/blogs/gpg/insider/2011/01/25/sheer-number-of-ir-players-is-reason-for-team-photo-situation/. This shit still boggles my mind. How can a professional sports team not understand the PR nightmare that will come with this? Does nobody understand that perception = just as important as reality? I mean, the higher ups don’t want to be distracted… yet they create a perfect storm for a major distraction. Plus, it makes them look callous and uncaring. So fucking what if they need to get to Dallas 2 days earlier than planned; I highly doubt those 2 days will impact the recovery of the IR players, what a load of bullshit.

On-field and personnel decision =. PR stuff =.

I’ve been saying it for years that Calvin is the best WR in the NFL, hands down, better then anyone. His only problem is that he’s playing on a losing franchise and a losing team with QB’s that either can’t stay healthy or are a one year wonder. All of which takes away from his accomplishments really, I mean the guy is an absolute phenom out there.

Not only that, I really like his personality as a WR too, he seems like a humble guy from what I can tell, unlike some other WR’s who are always trying to make headlines, this dude is legit and he’s a mellow guy.

He needs to drop the Lions jersey and pick up a Green and Gold, then he’d be set for life with #12 throwing to him

On another note, I don’t agree on the 2 1/5 pt favorites for my G-Men, I really really feel that its basically a dead even choice here. Maybe I’m the only Packers fan on here who really fears the Steelers Defense, because that front-7 imo trumps our line, however I believe overall we are still slightly better, besides again on special teams, other then our beast of a punter Masthay who’s been very consistent all year long and during the Bears game…WOW, that dude was MvP of that game in my opinion basically giving Chicago shitty field position almost the entire length of the game.

My prediction 28-24 Packers over Steelers.

NFL.com news: Renewed focus: Packers to include injured players in team photo

Glad to see Packers management wisened up and will allow IR players in the Super Bowl photo. A lot of those IR guys are going to be cornerstones of the team in the next couple years, so it’s nice not to completely jade them and alienate them from our franchise.

Jeff Fisher is done as Head Coach of the Titans!

Wow, this is just getting crazier as the weeks go by.

So everyone speculated they were going to get ride of Jeff or Vince, and they got rid of both?

Crap, what the hell can I call the Titans now without Forever Fisher?

Out of curiousity, does the whole team get Super Bowl rings or just the starters?

So Cutler supporters…word has gotten out that Desean Jackson suffered a Grade 2 MCL Tear during the WC loss to the Packers…you know, the game he came back in and played through?

Not saying anything, but…pretty sure that doesn’t help his stance.

Whole team. Backups, coaches, trainers, and even the practice squad players.

If Cutler just issued a clear, concise, yet impassioned statement on the subject, I think it would put a lot of rumors to rest. You have everybody in the galaxy speaking on the issue, but Cutler hasn’t said a word. I’m sure he’s thinking to himself “why the hell should I have to justify myself to these bottom-feeders?”, but at the same time, he appears intelligent enough to know that he represents a city and franchise, the circumstances surrounding the injury were unique, and that perception = reality.

It’s all good that his teammates are behind him (or at least saying they’re behind him), but what about the fans? I think that’s the crux of the issue and why it’s still such a hot topic. Fans feel like he quit on them. We all know that he didn’t, but that was the initial impression fans got due to a combination of factors; Bears informing Fox that Cutler was questionable to return, no apparent play that caused the injury, Cutler’s demeanor, etc. Whether logical or not, fans are fans and Cutler must learn even though he can’t please every fan, he at least must acknowledge their anger and try to come to an understanding.
