I thought GB was +2.5.
I swear I just said “2 seconds after Jets beat Pats that NFC was favorite”…
Only way they were changing it was if somehow the Bears manage to pull the upset over the Packers, and even before the game had started they had NFC > AFC. So they were pretty dead set on Packers winning, cause they would have been ROYALLY fucked if Bears did somehow managed to win. When you put something like that up a whole 3 weeks before the Superbowl you should have a pretty darn good “gut feeling.” Can you imagine what happens if everyone took AFC during this week and somehow the Bears made it to the SB. That would be a free win for everyone that took AFC this week.
Yea they were pretty dead set on Packers winning.
Lame I hate both the teams in the Superbowl I am not sure which one to hate more. I guess I will go with rings and hate the Steelers. Go pack…? God that burns my fingers just to type it. The only reason I really hate the Packers is because they have a ton of bandwagon fans here in Boise Idaho, they couldn’t even find Green Bay on a map for christ sake and they are so annoying.
DON’T HATE ON MAH PACKERS, BOI!!!
Ahh so much dislike of the Steelers. It’s to be expected when you are the best team. Steelers will destroy the “Fudge”-Packers
…and the Mendy hump was hilarious!
I wonder how Cowboy fans feel about two hated rivals playing a SB in their team’s home stadium? And only in American where you can rape yourself to a Super Bowl. :looney:
LETS GO STILLERS. YEAH.
Suck it Serpent and other jets fans.
Carson Palmer has given the Bengals an ultimatium:either trade him or he’ll retire. What team do you guys think he should play for?
The Browns. I mean they do need a QB.
I see TO going to the Browns as well
Could probably see him going to Arizonia or San Francisco and getting success.
Who in the blue hell are you?
Carson Palmer is done,he hasn’t been the same the past 5 years since his knee injury.
Hasn’t he been bothered by an elbow injury of late? I’m curious to know what sort of leverage he’ll have if he’s injured and the CBA is looming.
EDIT: Now that the euphoria has worn off slightly, a few thoughts from last night’s Packers/Bears game:
1.) Bears fans booing the home team every single chance they got (Lovie electing not to kick 49 and 53 yard FGs into the fucking wind, Cutler’s play, etc) was a sad thing to witness. I understand the frustrations, but come on, it was only the 2nd quarter, you’re only down by 2 possessions, and the boos started raining down in full force.
2.) Matt Forte is a monster. He truly is the forgotten guy in Chicago; Cutler’s emo drama, Hester’s flash, and Urlacher/Peppers’ domination overshadows how good this guy is. Probably has to do with his quiet demeanor, but I think he needs more shine and recognition for how he kept the Bears offense relevant this season (especially after the bye week).
3.) Despite winning the division and reaching the conference championship, I still think Lovie Smith is on uncertain footing. He won’t get fired or anything, but I don’t think he’ll have as much leverage in contract negotiations with so many question marks and the success of the Packers this season. Going into this season, you got the sense that if things went south, he’d fall on the sword. Luckily, the Bears exceeded expectations and ensured Lovie’s future with the Bears, but for how long remains to be seen.
I soooooo wish more people had this mentality in Chicago right now. Even if it is just a mild sprain, if you cant go you cant go…and I LOVE the chicago bears. When i hear this nonsense about people burning his jersey on the 6am news it makes me sick man. All these fake bandwagon ass ninjas in chicago who were bitching when we lost that 3-1 start didnt even have us in the NFC championship game. This year was awesome and the bears really overachieved with that AWFUL offensive line. If I had a fucked up knee behind an offensive line that gave up the most sacks in the NFL I wouldnt be to fucking excited about having to play on a bum ass knee and not being able to be 100% mobile…and if the drs pulled him than so be it…thats just IMO though. Im already looking forward towards the draft and I really hope we have a season next year…im so excited. and fuck todd collins hes done lol
Considering all that Cutler had had to go through since coming to Chicago (working with a terrible O-line, playing in his 3rd system in as many years, not having any real go-to receivers), he did a damn good job. It’s not his fault the Bears didn’t give him much to work with prior to his arrival.
Cutler has off days just like any one else in the league. Problem is, he picked a bad time to have one. I’ll say this much, Cutler is better than the 3455672213455 quarterbacks the Bears had over the years. Whether or not he is the “man” remains to be seen. Who knows what he’s capable of once he’s had a little consistency?
Carson needs to demand a trade for a new knee.
Nobody can give Cutler any shit for last night: NFL.com news: Report: Bears QB Cutler suffered MCL tear in Packers loss
But this still doesn’t excuse his terrible play before he sustained the injury. Also, Matt Forte going from a 3.4ypc average (pre-bye) to a 4.9ypc average (post-bye) had a lot to do with the Bears success this season. Cutler actually averaged a higher QB rating in the 5 games he played pre-bye week (did not include NYG game) than the 9 games he played post-bye week in the regular season. Maybe his passing duties were lessened due to Forte coming on stronger post-bye, who knows, but I still don’t see a smart decision maker out there, someone who won’t single-handedly lose games for the team, etc. Favre worked in Holmgren’s system for years and still tried to fit balls in to double coverage. I get that same sense from watching Cutler play; he’ll always look to make the big-armed throw instead of the conservative pass.
I gave Cutler the benefit of the doubt yesterday…and still do today.
Sucks for Cutler.
Bet all those people that talked shit about his toughness feel mighty stupid now.
Cutler’s MRI pretty much had to be a tear. If it was anything less, he wouldn’t live last night down for the rest of his career. There are defining moments that history will remember; Leon Lett trying to pick up the ball, David Tyree’s catch, etc. Given the historical relevance of yesterday’s game and it’s playoff implications, I think yesterday/today’s MRI was one of those moments.
