Hey, I’m sorta new to the forums. I made this account back in 2008 and pretty much forgot I had it until a few days ago. I really enjoy playing fighting games, because of this I play a variety of different fighting games. Anything from ST to GG. The ones I enjoy most are probably 3S, SF4(Haven’t gotten SSF4 yet, but for sure need to) and MvC2. Currently my Xbox is RRoD’d, but I’ve been seriously considering trying to get better at SF4 or MvC2. I’ve also considered just holding off till MvC3 to get super serious about one game.
Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself. Hey, better late then never, right?
Hey guys. I’ve been lurking this place for a very long time, and I’ve only decided to register recently.
The reason is to ask for criticism and suggestions for a game being made by the TIGsource forums as a community project. It’s called Indie Brawl and I’ll be making a thread specifically about it soon.
Since I used to lurk here, too, I’ll probably keep posting scarcely in other places after I make that thread.
Hey there, everybody!
I’m just a Finnish dude who digs fighting games. I’m not particularly good at them, but they’ve always interested me, and I follow the biggest tournaments as they go. It’s all very good fun.
I have a copy of the vanilla Street Fighter 4, and I play a halfway decent Honda. I’m hopefully getting SSF4 sometime soon. I also have MvC2, but I’m not good at that game at all. I don’t think I’ve ever even won an online match.
By the looks of things, I’ll never be able to get really competetive since I live in Finland and we don’t really have much of a scene, but I’ll do my best.
My gamertag for Xbox Live is Finlantima if someone’s interested.
Enough lurking. Here goes… Been playing Street Fighter since it hit the arcades here in the backwoods of appalachia when I was in the 5th grade ('91? '92?). Played the hell out of Champion and Turbo on the super nes, played the ridiculous EX’s on PS1, skipped Third Strike dude to being busy with stupid college, and when SFIV dropped, it was back to lighting the crack rock via hadoken. I’m an oldy now, so I’m loving coming back into the fold. I’m playing SSFIV pretty much every day when I get off work. The PSN tag is to the left, so hit me up for some digital fisticuffs.
Forgot to say hi when i entered a few weeks ago. I see everyone’s giving a brief rundown on their history so here’s mine.
-Been playing SF since 2WW
-Started playing competitively since Alpha, thus this is my favorite series of Street Fighter
-Liked Ryu a lot back then
-Most # of wins I racked up playing against people was 35 in Alpha 2 (used Ken)
-Attended one EVO (forgot which year)
-I enjoyed the VS series - mainly MvSF and MvC1
-Didn’t like the 3 series because of the artwork (but I can appreciate it now).
-Went on hiatus just after CvS2 was released (something I wish I could’ve gotten into knowing CvS1 wasn’t all that great)
-I like cats and thunderthighs
-But mainly kittens
-Didn’t play much SF4 but bought SSF4 and eventually my first joystick (as i was an lolauto/turbo pad player back then)
-Played HDTurbo with Cammy and pledged an allegiance to Delta Red since
-I play SSF4 almost every day. Getting good with Cammy has been an uphill climb but never the less, the view beneath me at this point looks pretty some days. Some days, butt ugly. Not changing characters unless I don’t like her after her future changes.
-I like rage quitters though I’ll admit i’ve only ragequit once.
-I’m actually in training mode right now with Cammy as we read
-I like to type a lot
-… shit. Nice to meet you, too.
Just wanted to introduced myself. I’ve been a lurker on SRK for a few years now, never really needed to register. I’ve been a fan of most fighting games for a while now. It wasn’t till Mugen 6 years ago, that I started playing fighting games again and modded my own arcade stick from a Hori FS3. I wasn’t really too serious playing them. I played a few " money matches " before in a place called fashion island mall that was torn down in the bay area. I just registered to learn more of the new fighting games. Right now my sons and I are into SSFIV so, I’ve been dabbling in it with them. So… Yah… Hi!
Hi,
Been playing many many fighters casually since i was really young, just recently wanted to take them seriously and up my game. Looking forward to learning alot from these boards.
-Im here to attempt to get better at SF. I became obsessed with watching SF streams on Justin.tv so im here to get into the know. I have SSF4 for 360 and im loving it, even if im still new.
-If anyone want’s to play with a total scrub then don’t hesitate to add me on XBL, TheyCallMeFree. (This is my username because thats what I am, Free. lol)
-Been going to smash tournaments for a few months, decided to pick up SSF4 to help supplement that. I never was good at being able to input commands quickly on the fly and am hoping SSF4 is going to really help teach me how to buffer and link attacks properly.
i wanted to introduce my self i bought ssf4 couple of weeks ago , i never play seriosly only with friend 4 fun n i like this game n serching 4 info found out of this site n registerd trying to up my game im using guy as main havent decided alredy who else i want to use my gametag 4 PSN is XGM23 so if any one want to play fell free to add me
I’m fairly new to fighting games, but I seem to have a nack for them. I only have a Wii so I have SSBB and TvC. Now, as I said, I have some general fighting game skills, I also have trouble some of the basic techniques of individual games.
I was playing MvC and had a blast:rock: so I bought TvC. I went online and realized I was horrible. I was so used to Brawl that I could barely get more than “Good” combo. So I have a few questions.
How do I change the characters colors. Not explained in the manuel for some random reason. Or is it just random?
I have a lot of trouble with the Shoryuken motion. I figured out that I didn’t literally have to do it in a Z motion, but I still have trouble doing it consistantly.
I also have a lot of trouble swinging around the anolog stick in time enough to combo into/out of a special. This is especially annoing when trying to do a kasha combo.
Will buying a fightstick help with 2 and 3. I’m willing to pay the money for one. Is Amazon still doing its 30% off deal.
I feal I have potential (I know I’m kind of tooting my own here), but I’m having some real trouble.
BTW: Thanks for this great forum and for this particular thread.
hey all,
My friends and I picked up SFIV a while back, played super casually but had some fun. Much more of our gaming attention was turned elsewhere and we never got serious. After seeing some MvC3 footage and going “holy shit” we decided to bust back out some fighting games and got TvC. Weve been playin it a lot and its kinda awesome. Am enjoying it far more than my misguided attempts at playing MvC2 online.
So anyway, am lookin to get better at TvC and talking about MvC3, so I came here. So hi everybody.
Also, someone who has played a recent MvC3 build: how similar is it to TvC?
Hey, y’all. I suppose people will be calling me Fathom hereabouts.
I don’t really have much experience with Street Fighter, or any competitive videogame. I recently saw videos of high level street fighter play, and thought that it might be worth my time to get into the scene.
My xbox gamertag is Fathom72, if anyone wants to play.
Have had this account for like 2 years but since I’ve only been lurking I guess I still count as new.
Played a lot of fighting games over the years but lately I’ve been mostly into Blazblue CS and MBAA. I have SSFIV too but don’t play it as much.
I live in Argentina so there’s no real scene for any of the games I play, but we still do small gatherings of about 10 people or so from time to time. Most people here are into MvC2 or KoF but I’m not a fan of those.
I’m so happy that I have found this site and look forward to learning so much from everyone. Hopefully, I can contribute to the community in some way for years to come.
I’m not new to fighters but it’s safe to say that improving my skills wouldn’t be a bad idea.
I used to play Street Fighter II on the SNES and in the arcades (a little bit) back in the day. I’ve lost touch with the SF series and 2D fighters in general over the years, and mainly played fighters such as Tekken, Virtua Fighter & Soul Calibur. It wasn’t until I started playing Super Street Fighter IV on Xbox 360 that I felt the urge to immerse myself into the game.
I’ve also recently purchased a few fightsticks with the intent of improving my game and look forward to be hands-on in the area of modding.
I play mainly on Xbox Live… my gamertag is Guitarwiz2010.
