Hey everyone. I’ve loved games my whole life but never really played any fighters. I’ve been playing ST on GGPO for a couple days now and having a lot of fun… surprisingly a couple people have been really helpful in trying to teach me some basics. I’m playing on a USB Saturn controller for now but hoping to get a stick soon.
Hi, I’ve been in SSF4 for 2months, I’m pretty sure you guys saw my previous thread that I keep jumping between characters (and i still sort of do even though I got C Viper recommended and I said I’d try to stick to her). But yeah, also haven’t played online with people that aren’t my friends in real life because I’m pretty I’ll be like a training dummy to them.
P.S I’m really into fighting/racing games (eagerly waiting GT5).
Hey everyone. Ive been reading these forums for awhile and learned quite abit. Ive been playing SF and a lot of other fighters all my life casually but never anything a step above it like tourney worthy. I decided to get real heavy into these games and also purchased a stick which I just received today. I must say that the stick is awesome but I’m not used to it so Im going to constantly practice daily to get better. I understand that losing is part of learning so I try to never get discouraged to move forward and continue to play.
I’m making a new PS3 account specifically for fighting games and anyone that wants to add me on this forum. If you add me beware that I don’t use my mic much because I like to listen to music.

I’m currently playing SSF4 and my main is Dudley. I want to alternate Ibuki and Rose eventually after I get the hang of the stick. I tend to play abit of MvC2 from time to time as well.

Hello everyone. I guess I didn’t technically just sign up (I think I posted once back in February). Figured I’d give this a shot, see if I can’t make a friend or two, maybe even learn something about Street Fighter. I’m a huge fan of the whole schtick (games, movies, comics, etc). I’ve been playing SFIV and SSFIV off and on since they came out. My skill level is somewhere between “The Worst Player Ever” and regular “Awful”. Still, I’m almost always up for a match or two (although I actually don’t have Gold at the moment, but hey, payday’s Friday) so long as we keep it fun. (If we’re gonna deal with angry assholes, we might as well go to work and get PAID for it, right?).
Whats good. I’m new here, just been chillen in the Jacksonville forums. Just joined and tryin to step my game up, cause I’ve always like this series, just never had a chance to play any good ppl, until online gaming started. I play on the ps3, and I also play FIFA games, NBA 2k series, Gran Tourismo, And alot of single player games. Plannin on gettin that black ops as well, so just hit me up if you tryin to play somethin.
What’s up everyone, I remember playing some sort of SF on the Nintendo system before N64. I can’t remember who I liked the most, but after reading some amazing articles on the forumns, I think I want to play SSF4 once again. The game has great graphics, and it seems to take a lot of skill to perform well. I play ssbb in tournaments, but my skill level is hitting a wall, and I think picking up SSF4 will get me past that.
*What do I need to do to learn the game well?
*What should I practice?
*How can I make my in-game decisions more consious and not auto-pilot?
*How long do you think it takes to become one of the best?

I’ve been playing fighting games since SFIICE on the Genesis. I live in Oregon and as far as I’m aware there is absolutely no tournament/compet. scene here thus I’m forced to either humilate my friends on LAN or play online. sadface.

Hi! i currently play SSF4 in hopes of becoming somewhat competitive. when i was young i used to play SF2 on my SNES and i was horrible. i picked up SF3:TS because of a friend and fell in love. ever since i’ve become a huge fan of the fighting game community and have been trying to practice so i could become part of it as well. i’ve been a chun li main since SF2, and is looking for some good competition. i’m not very good, but i know the basics. you can send me an invite on PSN which is: glouie2. i’m always looking forward to some good gaming and constructive criticism.
i’ve actually had an SRK account for a long time now, but never really went on often. now that i’ve gotten better, i go on fairly often.
I just wanted to say hi, I live in Columbus Ohio and I am new to fighting games. I generally play FPS and own. Back in the end of May, beginning of June I had the opportunity to play against a couple people from Empire Arcadia such as Triforce and Royal Lance. We had a little mini tourney and I just loved how everything went down. Since then I have been training SSFIV like my life depended on it, lo and behold I now have a smidge of skill. I signed up a while back on SRK and let me tell you with out this site and the people on here I would have already went back to FPS and forgot about the fight game. I just wanted to throw out there to the people that have helped me so far a big THANKS!!! You don’t know me and I don’t know you but you still helped and that means alot.
Since my Journey began in May, its been a roller coaster of fun. Win Some and lose more. In October I get to play in my first big tourney. SB:Redemption. My goals are realistic. At no point do I think I remotely have a chance at winning. So I set a goal to at least make it past the first round. I think its a realistic goal.
Again, thanks to SRK and the select few in EMP that have helped me along my journey. I also want to say thanks to my teammates in Team Quad Rock for keeping me fighting. So heres hoping you see more of me. LOL. so cheesy
Wanted to say Hi… Im old… LOL I just hit 40 but still love games. Used to play SFII in the arcades as well as a ton of other arcade machines when arcades where everywhere. Also played Tekken 4 like crazy but never got great at it, but had fun playing.
Now I am mostly playing SF4 on my PC and other games and trying to get an arcade stick and maybe improve my game. Reading that there are still arcades in socal, ones with SF4 and other fighters, I might actually take a drive and head up to one to get my ass handed to me. Oh well its all good!
I know AI, Denjin, etc are good arcades. but does places like Boomers or Chamelot have anything decent or they all run down like I remember??

Hi I’m Sonicsage. A person who loved to play Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom series, some Tekken, and other games that interest me. I love playing Super Street Fighter IV for my PS3 and Street Fighter III 3rd Strike for my brother’s Xbox. I am a total noob or scrub as you say to a fightstick. I’m used to a pad on a ps3 or fightpad controller. I’ve played SF for quite a while. My favorite character is Ken and main him in every game so far. I still need work on my skills and love to know everyone.

What’s up SRK! New to the competitive fight scene, been playing shooters all my life. Picked up SSF4 a few months back as well as a TE and I’m looking to get tournament worthy. I really love this game and watching it, but getting my ass kicked over and over again is very discouraging!
